3
Grace was also on the board
of directors of the Friends of the Democratic Center in
Central America (PRODEMCA).(14) PRODEMCA was formed to support
incipient democratic processes in Central America. It has a
controversial history because of its advocacy of the
Nicaraguan contras and its involvement in the Iran-Contra
affair... 4

1984,
Grace was co-founder with columnist Jack Anderson, CITIZENS
AGAINST GOVERNMENT WASTE. CAGW is the legacy of the
President’s Private Sector Survey on Cost Control, also
known as the Grace Commission. 8
Funded the
contras through SMOM and in 1984, "the National Catholic
Reporter obtained a memo tying Nicaragua's pro-contra
Archbishop Miguel Obando y Bravo. Obando had sought financial
help for training anti-Sandinisti '"pastoral
cadres". J. Peter Grace arranged for his Sarita Kennedy
East Foundation to send Bibles, rosary beads and other
supplies to Obando who said he would build anti-Sandinista
opposition through the promotion of "lay
organizations," including Catholic charismatic community
Ciudad de Dios. The Grace memo referred to lay groups as
"the best organized opposition in Nicaragua to the
present government efforts to change the country into a
Marxist-Leninist society."

Past
Judge for Templeton
Prize and endorsed Sir John Templeton and the book
published by his Templeton
Press, “Looking Forward celebrates the triumph of
the human spirit at the dawn of a new millennium. In his usual
thorough way, Sir John brings together the best thinking of
the best minds of our time and, in the process, conveys his
own incorrigible optimism and fervent belief in our essential
spirituality.” 10
Former chairman of Radio
Free Europe 11
, which was a CIA major propaganda operation.
Former Radio Free Europe (RFE) and Radio Liberty (RL)
president Sig Mickelson writes of the CIA"s major radio
propaganda operations and refers to "the Far East
Broadcasting Company, a U.S. government operation with
intelligence ties similar to RFE and RL. Its signals were
aimed at Japan and China." 12
The book "Broadcasting Freedom draws on rare
archival material and offers a penetrating insider history of
the radios that helped change the face of Europe. Arch
Puddington reveals new information about the connections
between RFE-RL and the CIA, which provided covert funding for
the stations during the critical start-up years in the early
1950s. " 13
"One component of the
U.S. strategy for victory in the Cold War...the leading set of
government-sponsored "private" organizations were
the National Committee for a Free Europe, the related Crusade
for Freedom, and its beneficiary, Radio Free Europe. The
National Committee was headed by 'political warfare"
specialist C.D. Jackson, who began his career as right-hand
man to Henry Luce in his Time-Life-Fortune magazine
publishing enterprise. During World War II, Jackson headed the
United States Psychological Warfare Division...From that
position, Jackson became a leading advocate of
corporate-government collaboration to influence public
opinion...The CIA-financed Radio Free Europe was considered
the most important piece of this operation...Through Radio
Free Europe, the National Committee for a Free Europe directed
CIA funds to the Assembly of Captive European Nations (ACEN)...According
to author Christopher Simpson, whose study of the U.S.
government's recruitment of pro-Nazi East European emigres'
relies heavily on declassified intelligence
documents..."the ACEN became the showcase of the CIA's
numerous exile projects..."
14
Scott
Anderson and John Lee Anderson, authors of Inside the
League, describe the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of
Nations ( ABN) as: 'the largest and most important
umbrella for Nazi collaborators in the world...A prime
criterion for membership appears to be fealty to the cause of
National Socialism; ABN officers constitute a virtual Who's
Who of those responsible for the massacre of millions of
civilians in the bloodiest war in history.'...July 13, 1982, [ABN's]
Yaroslov Stetsko, a man who went to prison for participating
in the murder of Polish officials, who once proclaimed his
devotion to the Nazis, whose followers assisted in the
slaughter of Jews in the Ukraine, sat in the center of the
front row of a reception hall to hear Reagan announce,
"Your dream is our dream. Your hope is our
hope."...Roman Zwaryz, an ABN official, told a reporter
in 1984, "the Captive Nations Week ceremonies...have
been... an indicator of a basic, fundamental shift in American
foreign policy...we are being consulted as to the content of
[Radio Liberty] broadcasts being sent into the Ukraine...The
effect of those consultations could be seen in 1985; at the
beginning of Reagan's second term in office, congressional
investigators found that Radio Liberty and Radio Free Europe
were broadcasting "unacceptable material...characterized
as ant-Semitic, anti-Catholic or even anti-Western" into
the Soviet bloc. Among the offending broadcasts was "a
positive description of the Nazi unit Galizien [Galician SS],
which was responsible for allowing Ukrainians to murder
thousands of Jews in Lvov."
15
"In
February 1985, former Justice Department attorney John Loftus
sent Congress a report detailing his suspicions that [William]
Casey and [General John] Singlaub [CNP], using the World
Anti-Communist League, had resurrected an old private conduit
system for laundering money to "freedom fighters."
The old conduit was Crusade for Freedom, a public charity
established by retired General Lucius Clay that provided
"private" support for the National Committee for a
Free Europe (now Radio Free Europe) and the American Committee
for Liberation (now Radio Liberty). The Two committees-home to
Nazis and Nazi collaborators who, as Loftus noted, migrated to
WACL--were secretly laundering government money to Eastern
Europe insurgents at the direction of the NSC and the State
Department's clandestine Office of Policy
Coordination..."close to 20 privately incorporated U.S.
groups have reportedly sent...aid...to Nicaraguan refugees in
Honduras and to the contras themselves...[The] driving forces
behind the major groups are a small group of about a half a
dozen men, most of whom have military or paramilitary
experience...The contra auxiliary includes the World
Anti-Communist League and it's U.S. Council for World Freedom,
the American Security Council, Council for Inter-American
Security and Western Goals [defunct spy group of John Birch
Society] ...Among the other key groups in the auxiliary are
the following:
The
Florida-based Air Commandos Association, led by retired
Brigadier General Harry "Heinie" Aderholt, is a
group of approximately 1,600 past and present members of the
U.S. Special Forces. Aderholt, Soldier of Fortune's unconventional
warfare editor, coordinated the joint CIA-Pentagon-AID
program to provide "humanitarian" relief to the
Hmong secret army in Laos and served as chief of covert air
operations in
Singlaub's Special Operations Group...
Soldier
of Fortune...was founded in 1975 by the Colorado-based
Omega Group headed by retired Lt. Col.
Robert
K. Brown, a
veteran of the Phoenix program and special operations in
Laos and ex-mercenary in white-ruled Rhodesia. Brown sports
a T-shirt boasting, "I Was Killing When Killing Wasn't
Cool." Soldier of Fortune (SOF) runs articles on
counterinsurgency warfare, glamorizes training and combat
missions by SOF personnel, advertises weapons and
mercenary services and encourages donations to its
affiliated El Salvador/Nicaragua Defense Fund, which printed
and distributed some 500 copies of the CIA contra manual,
and Refugee Relief International, which provides medical
training and supplies to El Salvador and the contras.
Refugee Relief is led by Thomas Reisinger, the assistant
director of SOF for special projects; board members
include Singlaub, Aderholt and SOF Military Affairs
Editor Alexander McColl. (In March 1988, a Texas jury
ordered Soldier of Fortune to pay $9.4 million in
damages to the family of a woman killed by a hit man her
husband had hired through a classified as in the
magazine...)
The CIA
contra manual is mild compared to some of the murder and
sabotage manuals SOF promotes, with such titles as How
to Kill Vols. I-V, Hit Man ("Learn how a pro
makes a living at this craft without landing behind
bars"), Techniques of Harassment and Elementary
Field Interrogation. The last manual includes explicit
instructions for psychological and physical torture..."
"Civilian
Material Assistance...was founded in 1983 by Tom Posey, a
former Marine Corporal, John Bircher and Ku Klux
Klansman..."We like to think of ourselves as
missionary-mercenaries," explained Posey..."
"The
Virginia based National Defense Council was founded in 1978
by [CNP's]
Andy
Messing, a close friend of
North's and a
member of Singluab's Pentagon advisory panel, who has said
"that going to war is his favorite
pastime."..."
"Brigade
2506...the kind of freedom fighting the Brigade supports is
evident in its choice of Chilean dictator Pinochet for its
first Freedom Award in 1975..."
"The
Virginia-based Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) was
founded by the Reverend Pat Robertson
[CNP]...In
distributing aid to the contras and other Central America
projects, CBN has worked with the Air Commandos, Refugee
Relief International, World Medical Relief, Friends of the
Americas, Knights of Malta and other groups."
"The
Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), known as the
Knights of Malta, is an elite, international Vatican
order..."
16
Other
groups listed include PRODEMCA, Citizens for America
(founded by CNP's
Lew" Lehrman
with donors including Nelson
Bunker Hunt
and
Joseph
Coors) and Moon's CAUSA and the
Nicaraguan Freedom Fund, Friends of the Americas (founded by
CNP's Woody Jenkins) and others.
Pat Robertson
was a
"management trainee" with W.R. Grace Corporation for
two years. "...more than a century the Grace Empire
controlled vast portions of Latin America, especially
Peru...J. Peter Grace...spearheaded the post-World War II
attacks on the U.S. labor movement and the creation of the
American Institute fro Free Labor Development (AIFLD) to break
progressive unions in the rest of the hemisphere. In the
1950's, when Robertson worked for the company, J. Peter Grace
helped Otto Ambrose establish residency in the United States.
Ambrose was a known Nazi chemist and director of the I.G.
Farben Company which supplied gasoline and rubber for Hitler's
war effort. Robertson has often praised J. Peter Grace and
once remarked that Grace is the 'godfather' of his
children."
17
J.
Peter Grace was involved in Project
Paperclip
--
"Project
Paperclip was a postwar and Cold War operation carried out by
the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA)...Paperclip
had two aims: to exploit German scientists for American
research, and to deny these intellectual resources to the
Soviet Union. At least 1,600 scientists and their dependents
were recruited and brought to the United States by Paperclip
and its successor projects through the early 1970s...April
27,1948 memo to the Pentagon's Director of Intelligence:
"Security investigations conducted by the military have
disclosed the fact that the majority of German scientists were
members of either the Nazi Party or one or more of its
affiliates." 18
Authorized
by then President Truman, it evolved into a CIA arrangement to
remove classified information (which labeled individuals as a
threat) from dossiers so that former SS members and Nazi
scientists, professors and doctors were given new identities,
and were secretly brought into the US and other countries. The
American space program became a veritable haven of ex-Nazis
(i.e. Werner Von Braun and others). These war criminals would
find employment within government agencies and companies such
as J. Peter Grace's W.R. Grace chemical company.
Project
Paperclip was only one of several government projects after
World War II whereby Nazi scientists, some associated with
Holocaust atrocities, were brought to the U.S. to work and
live. Other Nazis, like Klaus Barbie, "The Butcher
of Lyon," were used by U.S. intelligence and helped to
escape from Germany and later to avoid capture.
19
From
National
Archives and Records Administration 20
Mark
Weitzman, Remarks before the Nazi War Criminals Interagency
Working Group (Simon Wiesenthal Center, Los Angeles, June 24,
1999)
"...A recent report in
a London newspaper described the story of Erhard Dabringhaus.
Dabringhaus was an U.S. Army (CIC) intelligence officer in
post-war Germany. During the years between 1946 and 1952 he
helped recruit agents that served as a backbone of what would
become the CIA. One prime area of recruitment was involved
Nazis – even more specifically, SS men. Perhaps the most
infamous of these men was Klaus Barbie, also known as
"The Butcher of Lyon." He was responsible for the
deportation of 7,500 people, participated in 4,342 murders and
was involved in the arrest and torture of 14,311 resistance
fighters....We know that our space program was aided in its
development by Nazi scientists, recruited in Operation
Paperclip, scientists who utilized slave labor in their work
on the v-rockets and other programs. We know that Nazi
murderers and Nazi collaborators were used and protected, and
even sheltered here in the United States..."
From, COVERT ACTION
INFORMATION BULLETIN, Issue title: SPECIAL: NAZIS,
THE VATICAN, AND CIA; WINTER 1986 Number 25 p. 27-29:
"On January 16, 1980
ABC-TV broadcast a special "News Closeup,"
"Escape from Justice: Nazi War Criminals in America"
which discussed Grace's Role in Project Paperclip.
The transcript of the
program, available from ABC on request, states:
"Project Paperclip
....... from the end of WW II to the mid-1950's brought more
than 900 German scientists to the United States. ..... Otto
Ambros ..... was a chemist and a Director of the notorious I.G.
Farben Company which supplied gasoline and rubber for Hitler's
war effort. Ambros ...... played a supervisory role in the
construction of Farben's plant in the Polish village of
Auschwitz. For I.G. Farben, Auschwitz concentration inmates
provided a plentiful source of cheap labor. ..... The
Nuremberg prosecution charged that each day at Farhen's plant
one hundred people died from sheer exhaustion. ...... Otto
Ambros was convicted of slavery and mass murder and sentenced
to eight years in prison. But even while on trial at
Nuremberg, Ambros was a target for U.S. recruiters from
'Project Paperclip.' His prison sentence was commuted after
only three years by American officials and he was helped in a
bid to enter the United States by ...... J. Peter Grace,
President of W. R. Grace, a major American chemical company.
.....
An internal State Department
document describes how J. Peter Grace helped Otto Ambros in
his efforts to enter the U.S. In a memorandum to the U.S.
Ambassador to Germany, Grace acknowledges that Ambros was a
war criminal. But he adds that in the years he's known Ambros,
...... 'we have developed a very deep admiration, not only for
his ability, but more important, for his character in terms of
truthfulness and integrity.'
Today Otto Ambros does
consulting work for W. R. Grace and Company and lives here in
Mannheim, Germany. In a recent telephone interview Ambros
[said] 'I'm happy to still be working as a chemist ...... but
it's funny. Now I'm helping the Americans.' "
From NASA,
"...In 1933 the new Nazi regime placed all rocket
experimentation, including that being done by the rest of the VfR,
under strict government control. ...Ultimately
von Braun and about 125 other German rocket specialists
reached this country under "Project Paperclip,"
carried out by the United States Army." 21 "When it was at its
height in drug experiments, operation MK-ULTRA was formed.
This was the brainchild of Richard Helms who later came to be
a CIA director. It was designed to defeat the
"enemy" in its brain- washing techniques. MK-ULTRA
had another arm involved in Chemical and Biological Warfare (CBW)
known as MK-DELTA. The "doctors" who participated in
these experiments used some of the same techniques as the Nazi
"doctors". Those doctors who were not indicted in
the Nuremberg trials were imported from Germany under the
program called "Operation Paperclip." The Nazi
doctors were a valuable source of information to the CIA since
many of the U.S. techniques mimicked what had already been
done by the Nazis. 22

Armed Services Award presented by the Veterans of Foreign
Wars;
A book by General Graham
entitled "The High Frontier," and the National
Security Agency (NSA) funded "Project
High Frontier." 23 "High Frontier is the nation's
leading non-government authority on missile defense issues
including missile defense, arms control, nuclear weapons, and
strategic systems. Our historic 1982 report on national
defense was adopted by President Reagan and launched in 1983
as the Strategic Defense Initiative otherwise known as
"Star Wars." High Frontier was formed to examine the
potential for defending America against ballistic missile
attack. Through our publications, research, congressional
testimony and nationwide network of volunteers and supporters,
we provide a powerful voice that actively supports the
deployment of an effective national defense against ballistic
missiles."
CNP's Richard
Shoff, owner
of Lincoln Log Home is North Carolina, was a former Ku Klux
Klan leader; Shoff is a financial supporter of High Frontier,
which is also allied with the occult group headed by Elizabeth
Clare Prophet called the Church Universal and Triumphant.
Shoff also supports the Conservative Caucus which supports the
apartheid regime in South Africa. Lincoln Log Home funded the
film High Frontier, produced by the organization High
Frontier.
Former Senior Advisor to
Daniel Graham's High Frontier is Gene Vosseler,
Chairman of Citizens For
a Strong America. Previously a Lutheran and Unitarian
minister, Vosseler was ordained as a minister of the Church
Universal and Triumphant (CUT) in 1985 where he serves on
the Church board of Directors and as chairman of theology. CUT
grew out of The Summit Lighthouse--an organization established
by Mark
L. Prophet in 1958 to publish the teachings of the
Ascended Masters--into an international organization with
about 240 centers in 35 countries. In 1988 Vosseler made a
nation wide tour on behalf of High Frontier. 24
A 1987 Summit University
Forum hosted a number of of well-known experts on varying
topics related to SDI, including CNP Board member Gen. Daniel
O. Graham. The 1987 Annual Doctors for Disaster Preparadness (DDP)
and American Civil Defense Association (TACDA) Seminar
co-sponsored by High Frontier featured as speakers Daniel O.
Graham, director of High Frontier, and H-bomb architect Dr.
Edward Teller .

"...[American

President Robert Grant has said that he hoped to "recruit
a broad base" from his contacts with CAUSA, a political
arm of the Unification Church... Grant has said that he
solicited Phillip Sanchez, president of CAUSA USA, and Bo Hi
Pak, president of CAUSA Intl, for support for AFC. Sanchez and
Pak agreed to help AFC by leaving time on CAUSA program
agendas for AFC board members to describe the organization and
seek new members. They also allowed AFC access to the names of
participants in previous CAUSA conferences, and granted the
services of one CAUSA staff member per state to do outreach to
CAUSA "graduates" and encourage them to join AFC.
The two CAUSA leaders also granted the services of several
CAUSA members to help in the Washington D.C. office of the
AFC... According to Grant, state AFC chapters are headed by
the state directors of Christian Voice and the American
Constitution Committee (ACC), a CAUSA project... Grant,
founder and chairman of the evangelical lobby Christian Voice,
said the AFC has about 65 CAUSA/ACC employees across the
United States. Current and former members of the American
Freedom Coalition have said that the majority of AFC
administrative officers--including the executive director,
administrative director, and publications editor--are members
of the Unification Church and have been principals in CAUSA
and ACC... In a December 1987 Knight-Ridder article, Grant
said that CAUSA could veto AFC state board members..."
37
"Christian
Voice pioneered the use of 'moral report cards' to rate
Congressional and presidential candidates on issues from
abortion to sanctions against Rhodesia. The organization was
started in California in 1976 under the name Citizens United.
In August 1978, the group changed its name to American
Christians United and in October 1978 to Christian Voice, Inc.
The original Christian Voice directorate consisted of Rev.
Robert Grant, a graduate of Rev. Steuart McBirnie's California
Institute of Theology,
Gary
Jarmin,
a long time right-wing lobbyist and former disciple of Rev.
Sun Myung Moon, and Colonel Donor (Colonel is his first
name, not a military title)...In 1988, an investigative news
feature on CBS' 'West 57th" documented McBirnie's history
of fraudulent financial dealings and featured elderly
followers whom he has allegedly swindled by refusing to pay
thousands of dollars of loans."
"In
1987, leaders of the Christian Right formed the American
Freedom Coalition (AFC)...Robert Grant [was] an AFC founder
and president of Christian Voice. With initial funding from
the Unification Church, the AFC signified a merger between
about 30 Christian Voice field organizers and the state
representatives of Moon's American Constitution Committee. At
the August 1987 kick-off rally for the American Freedom
Coalition in Washington, D.C., Moon's top aide Bo Hi Pak
praised the 'marriage' between Christian Voice and the
American Constitution Committee and said it 'shows what a
great sense of humor God has.'
"As
with other Moonie-influenced New Right projects, the AFC was
organized in such a way as to obscure Moonie domination. The
original officers included Christian Voice President, Robert
Grant, black civil rights leader Ralph Abernathy,
Richard
Viguerie, and Richard Ichord (D-MO) and Bob Wilson (R-CA).
After their poor results in the 1986 Congressional elections,
Christian Voice leaders, Colonel Doner, Robert Grant and Gary
Jarmin had concluded that Christians
alone could not steer the country rightward. To be politically
effective, they argued, Christians would have to be 'unequally
yoked' with non-believers and even enemies of Christianity...
"In
May 1988, Grant was invited as the keynote speaker for the
annual conference of the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations (ABN),
which included many of the same anti-Semitic East European
emigre groups recruited by (CNP's )
David Balsiger's
RAMBO Coalition . With headquarters in Munich and chapters
throughout Europe and the United States, the ABN is nostalgic
for the days when the Nazis occupied Eastern Europe. Scott
Anderson and John Lee Anderson, authors of Inside the
League, describe the ABN as: 'the largest and most
important umbrella for Nazi collaborators in the world...A
prime criterion for membership appears to be fealty to the

Colonel
Doner, responding to reporters about Moonie financing of the
Christian Right and AFC, stated " CAUSA [Moon's political
arm] is an anticommunist organization. It's a funding source.
CAUSA is anticommunist and personally I'm for anybody that's
anticommunist. The Mormons are the same. I'm not going to lend
credence to their organization, but networking, I'm happy to
network with them." 39 Colonel Doner is
Director of Dennis Peacocke's Coalition on Revival
(COR) which Jay Grimstead heads. Peacocke was a disciple of
Bob Mumford and his shepherding movement. Colonel Doner
has also been on the executive of Peacocke's charismatic
Anatole Fellowship, whose goal is to gain influence in
the Republican Party. Other executive committee members have
included CNP's
David Balsiger and Connie Marshner , who
represents Paul
Weyrich's Free Congress Foundation.

Dennis Peacocke's Coalition on Revival (COR) was co-founded
and headed by Jay Grimstead. Jay
Grimstead's COR Manifesto is the document which outlines
COR's goals
and objectives. The 135 Christian activists who signed the document in 1986 committed themselves to working for the realization of COR's goals "until the day we die." Those on the COR steering committee include other
CNP members as well as recognized shepherding movement leaders such as Bob Mumford and Ern
Baxter, as well as Jack Van Impe.

Christian Voice, which
claims to be the nation's largest conservative Christian
lobby, secretly joined forces with the Unification Church [in
August 1987], according to documents obtained by the
Philadelphia Inquirer. Together they mobilized grassroots
conservative activists nationwide, hoping either to move the
Republican Party rightward or build a new hard-right U.S.
political party. Behind this large, well-heeled alliance,
called the American Freedom Coalition, is conservative
strategist and fund-raising genius [CNP's]
Richard
Viguerie,
rescued from the brink of bankruptcy in October by Bo Hi Pak,
a former Korean military-intelligence officer and Moon's top
U.S. operative. Rev. Robert Grant, chairman of the coalition,
initially denied, then confirmed links between his traditional
Christians and the Moonies. A main source of the Moon money
involved "hundreds of millions, Moon said in 1984"
seems to be Japan. A national bar association panel there
reported in July that a church - organized high-pressure sales
scheme had bilked Japanese consumers out of at least $165
million since 1980, terming that sum only the "tip of the
iceberg.''

Bo Hi Pak's 60th Birthday Celebration, Washington, D.C.,
August 26, 1990, "...Dr. Pak uses the occasion of his
60th birthday celebration to give his heartfelt thanks to
several people in attendance, including Congressman Ichord,
Dr. Bob Grant, Ambassador Sang Kook Han, Ambassador Phillip
Sanchez and his wife, and Gary
Jarmin...

"Now I want to speak about
Dr. Bob Grant. Dr. Grant's primary mission nowadays is not
leading AFC. His primary mission is to speak to visiting
Korean groups... The other day I joked with him, and I told
him, the Korean public is waiting for you, Dr. Grant. ... They
want you to come to Korea to run for the presidency. You have
created a big constituency. There is a certain truth to it.
Dr. Grant is becoming very popular among Korean intellectuals
and leaders of Korea. But the more important thing is this:
Dr. Grant never once complained or excused himself, never
once. Speaking to these groups is an additional duty. He
knows Reverend Moon wants him to do it, and that is good
enough for him. He is giving his heart and soul, day in
and day out, pouring out his message, teaching about America
to these Korean people. No one is telling the truth about
America like Reverend Bob Grant does. But he loves America. He
is confident. He is a man of positive thinking. He is a man of
love."
"Now when the regional
directors come, you usually come to his home. His basement has
become a conclave of our AFC regional directors. He loves to
have our people come into his home and use it and occupy it.
The other day I said, bless him who understands that the
kingdom of God is the kingdom of use. He is using every bit of
everything he has for the sake of goodness. Of course, Judy,
his lovely bride (I know she is still a bride because I was at
their wedding in Palm Springs, California), supports him
completely."
"Bob Grant knows Reverend
Moon loves him and expects him to accomplish great things.
Reverend Moon knows he is a great leader and even wants him to
become president of the United States. Dr. Grant said, no, no,
I was born in Canada. Impossible. The Constitution does not
allow me to run for the presidency. Reverend Moon simply said,
let's change the Constitution. My only birthday plea to Dr.
Bob Grant is this. I know Dr. Grant loves Jesus Christ. He is
a tremendous man of God and man of Christ. But I want to tell
him I used to think that way too. I was already a Christian
for five years before I became a Unification Church member. I
thought joining the Unification Church was in some way a
betrayal of Jesus Christ. I am sure all those Jesus-loving
ministers have that instinct."
"But in my life of Divine
Principle over 30-some years, I have come to the realization
that Jesus and Reverend Moon are one. Jesus in heaven is
sweating and laboring to see to it that Reverend Moon's
mission here on earth is successful. That is the way Jesus'
mission shall be fulfilled. This most poignant realization
came to me: Jesus and Reverend Moon are one. As much as Elijah
and John the Baptist were one...." 43

branch of ICN is called ILS
International (Information and Learning Systems), which is
governed by a Board of Directors. "Each year ILS comes
alongside one or more new agencies who become a participating
partner on a major ILS project." ILS as a service
organization that looks at complex problems and then works
with an agency or agencies to think through how we can help
solve this problem in a way that can will benefit not only the
agency or agencies who are trying to solve this problem but do
it in a way so that literally hundreds of other agencies can
benefit around the world. 49
"Example: In 1995 one
of ILS's board members, Frank Kaleb Jansen... presented to ILS,
... a formal request to automate the production of People
Profiles for the Adopt-A-People Clearinghouse (AAPC)... Frank
was the executive director of the AAPC. A couple of months
after ILS stated that it would take of this project with the
AAPC as a participating partner Frank has a stroke...
with the AAPC without a leader, and ILS's commitment to help
automate the research side of the AAPC, ILS ended up running
the entire Adopt-A-People Clearinghouse out of its new office
in Colorado Springs for one year. During this time ILS
became thoroughly immersed with the structure, needs and
culture of the global adopt-a-people movement.
After handling an average of 5-10 requests per day, from
people over the world, about country and people information,
ILS realized that duplicating information the AAPC's 1,600
people profiles, filed in country binders was way to limited
in scope and very time consuming. As of result of
analyzing some 2,000 phone and written requests during the
first year (40/week x 50 weeks = 2,000/year) ILS started
getting a pretty good picture of what the troops in the field
wanted and what data was actually available in the 1,600
printed profiles in the binders. ILS then designed an
integrated knowledgebase to automate the process of producing
profiles for all the of countries and peoples of the world. In
order to have both black and white color profiles we also
needed to design country and region maps for each country of
the world --over 800 new maps.
Now, four years later, the AAPC has completely automated
system that can instantaneously produce Country PROfiles for
236 countries and People PROfiles for over 13,000 peoples of
the world. These PROfiles can now be printed, faxed or
sent (and soon viewed) via the internet within minutes of the
request. During this next year ILS will turn this five years
of research and development into a series of products and
tools..."
