Eastern meditation and Scriptural meditation are two different things. Reading Scripture and thinking on God's Word is not eastern meditation. I am not sure if you are saying that Christianity is just another meditative religion or if you truly do not know the difference. Can you please clarify? Thanx Smiley-face-thumb

King James Version
1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: 2But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. 3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. 4Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever. 5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. 6And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 7And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever: 8Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses. 9So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

By definition Yoga is a Hindu theistic philosophy that teaches participants to suppress the mind in order to 'realize self distinction' and obtain liberation.

Even if one is not caught up on the philosophy behind Yoga, the posture themselves are designed to be offerings to particular Hindu gods, for the sake of obtaining a whole life. In Christianity, physical positions play absolutely no role in liberation, or obtaining a full and perfect life.

Only the blood of Christ does that.
You need to read Dave Hunt's book "Yoga and the Body of Christ."
You can't Christianize that which is pagan! There are serious dangers with Yoga. No Christian should do Yoga or TM. When I was a church, I was a baby in Christ at the time, but I knew enough that they shouldn't have classes of Yoga in the church. The priests were into TM. I told them that when they did their Mantra they were worshiping a demon after some research they got out of it. Then later I was in a class there were some men taking TM and I told them the same thing. They laughed. I told one of them tell me your age and I will tell you your Mantra. They laughed. He told me his age. I told him I would tell him the next day for I had to look it up in my book. I came back the next day and told him. It was Kodak moment. He was stunned, shocked, amazed and slacked jawed. I just smiled. Then we all had a real nice talk. What is truly bad is that Christian churches encourage Yoga and therefore people think that it is okay.... and can't be bad. Problem is that so many ministers, pastors, and priest are not knowledgeable on the Occult or Paganism.....and therefore lead their sheep astray. Swoon

Lamb sadly where I live too there's been a rise in people going to Yoga and meditation classes.Like you say, they don't seem to realise what it is they are getting into and think it's a good way of dealing with stress or find inner peace.
I also see that many sick people turn to it also as a way of dealing with their conditions. So many "energy" therapies out there that prey on those who are sick and want a tool to get better.
