I just read that President Obama has overturned the Bush administrations decision to limit stem cell research and will now allow taxpayers money to go toward funding new research. President Obama has stated that he is a "man of faith" Thinking2 but feels that we need to reach out to the hurting and sick and that stem cell research is one of the most promising avenues that we need to push.
I do not doubt that he is a man of faith, I just am not sure that I agree that we should now be able to use embryonic stem cells to further the study of this touchy matter. I agree that we should look for cures for these horrible diseases. I also know that there are lines that should not be crossed in the process. Public figures such as Michael J. Fox have lobbied to get stem cell research moving ahead apparently at whatever cost. I feel for him and the others who have had to suffer. I just don't think that as Christians, we can say it is okay to use embryonic stem cells. I get a very bad feeling when I hear that term. Anyone have any thoughts?

Obama is not a man of faith. He is a Muslim. He supports abortion as well. We got what we paid for Banned

I am against stem cell research. I think most people are ignorant as to where "stem cells" are "harvested" from or maybe they don't care. Personally, I would rather die, than to be saved because of a perceived cure due to "stem cell" research 10171
Thanks Sheep Wrecked for your input! I agree with you. I think those who accept the procedure of receiving a harvested stem cell implant (from the a human embryo) are also in the wrong.
Well, I guess the best we can do is to continue to pray.
Have a great weekend. I am almost a week into my Daniel's Fast and it is going great. I feel I have more energy already. The headaches and hunger pangs have faded away. God is so much more present throughout my days now it is such a wonderful feeling.
Talk to you later. Wave

God Bless!

Mark
It is an uncomfortable thought that stem cells are being harvested from human embryos. Especially when there are alternate ways to obtain stem cells that do not include the destruction of human embryos. I know that stem cells may be a huge leap forward for medicine, but at what cost? Human life is of great value.

The FDA has recently approved the first human trials of human embryonic stem-cell research to see if stem cells are safe to use in spinal injury patients. Human testing can begin as early as this summer.

President Obama says he wants to separate science from religion. I hope that does not separate ethics from science.

I'm certain that president Obama is a Christian, I can not judge him as to what kind of Christian he is. Yet he has supported abortions and human embryonic research. I wish he would take a strong stance for those who can not protect themselves. These human embryos and human fetuses are of value because they are human life.
Amen!

Obama is a Muslim - one cannot be both a Christian and a Muslim, it's either or Wave

If he supports abortion, then he is a not a Christian either. So that's two strikes No

I am sure I can come with strike three Thinking2
