It's my understanding too that this means "pause".
It's a musical direction since the Tehillim (Psalms) were
originally sung.

Unfortunately they haven't a version for Mac. The one flaw with Macs is their incompatibility with everything. Bash

But can't you run Windows in a VM (Virtual Machine) on the MAC. I heard you could and am thinking of switching to Macs. I wonder if it is cumbersome to switch back and forth from Mac to Win OS.

Wonder if I can use them side by side?

Couldn't you pick an easy question? Bee

What makes is more confusing is this. Hebrew has no written vowels. Those were added about 1000 AD.

So we find this happening.

Lamentations 1:15 The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me:...

The four words translated 'hath trodden under foot' is actually the very same Hebrew word Selah.

The root seems to imply a Rejection or Exclusion. A Putting Aside of something.

That is why many people believe it to mean a Pause. Even though that does not fit in other usages. but the base concept may be similar. A Setting aside of the Psalm momentarily for reflection. but that is reading more than is there.

Here are other occurrences of the word Selah, Underlined.

Job 28:16 * It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

Job 28:19 * The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

Psalms 119:118 * Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.

An intriguing word....
