Psa 117:1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
Psa 117:2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD [endureth] for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

This is a small chapter that packs a global-sized wallop. My study Bible says this chapter is aimed specifically at the Gentiles. "Nations" obviously refers to the Gentiles but "all ye people" sounds as though it means "everyone on earth", both Jews/Israelites and Gentiles.

You are quite right!!! Did you know that Israel was also called one of the nations? And the same word for nations is used - surprise!!!!

Now I am curious. What is the word for nations in the OT/Tanakh? The Greek word is "ethnos" (I think).
