Full Version: Why 2 different dates for Passover this year

My Messianic friend has told me that the Jews are not celebrating the Biblical Passover on the correct date. She will be celebrating it on Friday evening.

Quote:It is on the evening of Friday, April 10th. The Jewish calendars are wrong because they don't follow the moon cycles or the harvest cycles as were commanded.

Quote:This year the new moon was sighted on the evening of Friday, March 27th and the Barley was sighted in the stage of Aviv/Abib prior to this date. This made Friday, March 27th the 1st day of the new year (Rosh Hashanah) and the 1st day of the month of Aviv/Abib. This is the accurate way of knowing the true evening to have Passover

How come she is not celebrating it with the rest of Judaism - Is there a particular sect of Messianics that do this?

Thanks

Not a particular sect. There seems to be major division within the Messianic Venue as to what the correct date is. There is the lunar, the kararite, the Georgian, the Jewish, Abib, the whatever - on and on it goes. They can't make up their mind.

I have just one question. Seeing as how God instructed to Israel [not anyone else] when He dictated the feasts be held, it seems to be based on His calendar. NO ONE knows what that calendar is. So how does anyone know that they have picked the right one? Is God confused? Does the Holy Spirit give conflicting "revelation"? If God wanted people to continue with the feasts, I think He would have informed His kids Yes [not to mention they are all fulfilled in Christ, so there is no point Thinking2
