Hi,

I was talking to Vic and she gave me permission to share a link to photos and information about our Garden.

Permaculture (Permanent Agriculture, coined by Bill Mollison) is a system of gardening that utilizes companion planting and water harvesting amoung many other things. It is a living science lab for my children. Our homeschool year for 2009 is focused on Planting, compost, worm farm, harvesting, seed saving, cooking, canning, dehydrating, storage of food and survival skills. My children are b10 and g5 years old and help with every step. First we read then we do.

I am going to start a Homeschooling thread soon and share what we are doing. I am inspired by "Heb 13-13" on this site and have read through the "raising kids" post. I think my family will learn a lot from all of you. God bless you "Heb 13-13" for blazing a trail for my family. I know how hard it is at times. You guys Rock!

Enjoy the Photos:

I have links to vids that inspired us during our learning process. You must understand that a lot of these sites give great information but are slanted with gaia worship and pantheism, Buddhism so on and so on. I am interested in the science of the biosphere I already have a faith and that faith is in the One who made everything not the ones who worship the creation. So surf with a salt shaker in hand.8836Popcorn

Pretty cool! I perused your pictures and will have to take a closer look (and notes). I have about 1 acre and will be gleaning from your site for our garden. I would like about 12-15 hens, also. About how many hens do you need for 3 dozen eggs a week?

Thanks!

Most impressive! I do gardening too but I usually work with hydroponics. One of these days I'll get my black raspberry and boysenberry plants to produce.

Hello MBT,

I clicked on the link in your post. What a beautiful and amazing garden. I think it's awesome that you are teaching your children gardening an other self-sustaining ways of life. Several years ago the Lord really inspired my interest and zeal for gardening, solar energy, wind energy and other topics regarding sustainable living. I have read many books and watched many videos on all of the topics above, and more. Isn't it amazing how much one can learn from watching videos. Where gardening is concerned, I particularly like aquaponics. I don't know if you have heard of or researched aquaponics at all, but there are many videos on the topic on youtube. I believe you and your kids would really enjoy them.

Anyway, have a great day in the Lord.

Love ya,
Chris
