Couple of thoughts> I believe it showed a fracture to one of the bones--which should have given those who believe the Scriptures a clear picture--aside from the obvious, that it was a fake.
I mentioned the shroud in >A Different View of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" > http://www.SeekGod.ca/gibson.htm
The brief resurrection scene, is a view of a burial cloth deflating and then reveals " Christ" exiting the tomb, appearing to be naked. Scripture tells us there were plural burial clothes, [John 19:40, 20:5-7; Luke 24:12] as was the custom of the Jews, but the implication brings one to consider the shroud of Turin. Jesus' actual clothes were divided between the soldiers at the cross. When Jesus appears to Mary, and many others, He is clothed, and in point of fact, at first Mary thought He was the gardener. He was not naked, and nothing in Scripture states He was.

Q. They beat Jesus brutally for nearly the whole movie, right from the Garden to the end...is that Scriptural?
A. No. That comes from the various writings, from Anne Emmerich and Mary of Agreda, and also St. Bridget, who all also suggest he was scourged for about an hour or so.
One web site presented this:
"
St. Bridget, as she understood the Blessed Mother to say: ... They scourged His Body pure from all spot or stain... His whole Body lacerated with scourges tipped with sharp points turned back, not pulling out, but ploughing up... His Body bruised and beaten to the very ribs so that the ribs could be seen... His very flesh was furrowed with the thongs. ... all torn, so that no soundness could be found on him nor any spot to scourge. ...
Josefa’s vision:: What struck me most was the expression of His tortured eyes...closed, swollen and filled with Blood, especially the right eye. His hair damp with Blood fell over His face, eyes and mouth. ... From His left shoulder hung a fragment of torn flesh about to detach itself, and the same was the case in several other parts of His Body.... "

Dr. Buckley: [Re: shroud of Turin] On the right cheek is a swelling which has resulted in the partial closing of the right eye. There is also an area on the nose where there is a separation and possible fracture of the nasal cartilege. On the tip of the nose is a small abrasion, possibly resulting from a fall where the nose came in contact with a hard object.".....
St. Alphonsus: Why was it that in the journey...the Jews took the Cross from off His shoulders, and gave it to the Cyrenian to carry?... As the blessed Denis, the Carthusian, says, "They feared lest He should die upon the way," seeing that our Lord, after the scourging, was so drained of Blood and so exhausted in strength as to be scarcely able any longer to stand."

It should be pointed out that the Shroud of Turin comment, while apparently viewed by some as belonging to Jesus, is obviously not Christ, simply by the above comments, "possible fracture."
John 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
Psalm 34:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. [Also Ex. 12:46; Nu. 9:12]
As an aside, the Jews did not have anything to do with the actual scourging, the carrying of the cross, the crucifixion and so on. That was totally in the hands of the Roman soldiers.

I also think that Scriptures are clear on making images :
Acts 17:24-30 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25. Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26. And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. 30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
