I don't know a lot about David Jeremiah. As far as I know, he is Southern Baptist and pastors a large church in California. I have heard him a few times on the radio and I do have one of his books called "Until Christ Returns". I read it and enjoyed it for the most part. That was quit a while ago when I was still going to the Oneness Pentecostal church and some of the things he wrote didn't go with what I was learning there so I dismissed them. That's about all I know of him. Anyone else?

Just going through my research archive first:
Turning Point Ministries (Dr. David Jeremiah)--some of the information I have concerning him
> David Jeremiah along with Rick Warren had defended their promotion of new ager Ken Blanchard
> was a speaker at the ecumenical National Religious Convention (NRB) 2005--and likely other times-- along with "Speakers include nationally known women’s speaker Beth Moore; Dr. Ravi Zacharias/Let My People Think; Dr. James MacDonald/Walk in the Word; June Hunt/Hope for the Heart; Luis Palau/Luis Palau Evangelistic Association; Joni Eareckson Tada/Joni & Friends; Dr. David Jeremiah/Turning Point; and many others. ...
>2005> Max Lucado Hosts Lead Like Jesus with David Jeremiah, Ken Blanchard and Laurie Beth Jones
> 1998 >Greg Laurie, the contemporary crusade evangelist and charismatic pastor of the 12,000-plus membership Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California concocted a new "ministry," PREACH THE WORD. Its first event was scheduled for August 26-29, 1998, titled "Leader's Training Seminar" (<<http://www.preachtheword.org/>).
Laurie stated the purpose of the Leader's Training Seminar was to bring
in "some of America's most powerful communicators to spend three days
teaching on the topic of how to effectively bring God's Word to our
generation." (This was held concurrent with a Laurie' Harvest
Crusade.)
Besides Laurie speaking at the Leader's Training Seminar, four other

PTRC claims to have brought "together such a group of like-minded prophetic scholars, communicators, and authors ... to defend this very important biblical truth." PTRC claims 70 members who hold the Pre-Trib position and have signed PTRC's doctrinal statement. Even if one assumes that the stated purpose of the PTRC is a worthy one, PTRC's hodgepodge of neo-evangelicals, psychologizers, and prophecy hyper-speculators (listed as members on PTRC's letterhead) would most certainly disqualify it as an organization of "like-minded scholars" in Biblical unity (e.g., "like-minded prophetic scholars" include Ed Hindson, Kay Arthur, John Ankerberg, Chuck Missler, Martin DeHaan II, David Jeremiah, Grant Jeffrey, Peter LaLonde, David Reagan, Jerry Vines, Adrian Rogers, Zane Hodges, Robert Lightner, Thomas McCall, J. Dwight Pentecost, Charles Ryrie, John Walvoord, Stanley Toussaint, Zola Levitt, Hal Lindsey, David Noebel, Richard Mayhue, John Sproule, and Elmer Towns). This is a "dispensational ecumenism" that, in our opinion, can only go downhill from here. ...

Would you consider these people "wolves in sheep's clothing"? They sound so "Godly" on their programs and in their books. I guess that scares me. Thanks for the information.

Yes, we can consider them wolves. Jesus and Paul said that wolves would enter the flock and Peter stated that many false teachers would go in with false teachings.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2Pe 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Paul explained in this way:
2Cor 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
In other words, these wolves in sheep's clothing will look godly, speak as though they are godly, quote Scripture, and even say that Jesus is the Messiah. This is why it is so important to stick with the Word.
Look at what Paul states at the beginning of 2 Cor 11:
2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any mea[color=#9400D3]ns, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
We must keep it simple. Relationship with Christ is not Jesus and doing something to prove that we love God. It's not practicing religion or using traditions and doctrines to further the Gospel. As Paul also said - He preached Christ and Him crucified.
1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
2Co 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

What teaching does David Jeremiah proclaim that marks him as a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Maybe what you missed in what Vic presented is his affiliation with the contemplative/emergent movement. He promotes and teaches with, and uses material of known mystic/contemplative writers. He also uses that material in his own teachings, and quotes from those writings to present his messages. If one is a true teacher of God's Word, he would be teaching from the Bible, not the writings of men who are known for their non-Scriptural understanding and using mystic concepts as if they are of God, when they are the works of darkness. David Jeremiah is purposefully leading Christians astray. By their fruit shall you know them.

No I don't think I missed any thing in Vic's post, Sheep wrecked, but I'll check again. ......................................................................................................................................................................................... Promoted Blanchard, who ever that is? Spoke at some conferences with alot of others. Signed some arguably pointless documents. Nope think I got it all.
So my question remains, what does he teach that marks him as a wolf in sheep's clothing rather than perhaps having a lack of discernment about some of the company he keeps, pointless (and political) gestures and being once vulnerable to the siren song of the then new and unfamiliar emergent movement?
Please help me to undertand what measure is being applied here. What I see so far is a lot of people listed in Vic's post that seem to have one thing in common ... they have put their thoughts in writing on understanding and applying the scriptures.

You still missed what was said. Jeremiah teaches from the books written by contemplative writers [Blanchard and Mc Laren] and supports them. These teachings are not Scriptural.
Contemplative/emergent is a new movement teaching mysticism, yoga, and eastern meditation as well as the "ancient mystics" or monks and priests who practiced these things. This is promoted as meditation by contemplative [mystic] prayers and practices, centering prayer, Christ-consciousness, creative visualization, silence, voices, visions, and so forth. This is not of God.
Hope that clears it up a bit
