If you google Destiny Church or Brian Tamaki, you should find something. THis man had himself created a bishop a few years ago in the church he started, the Destiny Church. Based in Auckland New Zealand, he is a clone of the prosperity churcnes in the US. He sports gold rings, a big house wortth millions and a flashy car. But today on national news it was revealed that 700 of his members have made a "covenant promise" to never disagree with Bishop Brian, to obey him, and also "to protect him" presumably from criticism. (I was at work, where I heard it on the radio and machinery in rthe background does make paying full attention to the radio difficult)

This makes this church a cult in my serious opinion. In promsing never to disagree him they have given their souls to this man. this makes him in effect their god and ,master. Thus any orthodox doctrine they hold is mere lipservice for Tamaki is now the focus of worship in this church so it is a cult.

As Solomon once said - "there is nothing new under the sun". His cult is no different than any other. Those who surround these "holy gurus" will defend them to the death, regardless of a "silent" or written "covenant".

The world is full of people who bend the knee to a man in the name of God. Just look at the threads we have on the forum so far that deal with leaders and their "ministries". They are all cut from the same mold and with the same agenda ...... the pied pipers leading people straight to the gates of hell.

HE did predict, SOLEMNLY and in the name of the Lord, that within five years his political party (yes he has one) would be ruling the country (ie NZ).


I could not remember when he made this prediction, but this link gives the date. It has not happened: he is a false prophet

He is also listed as man who takes the Bible literally. This is offensive for it will discreidt the literal bible yet again. Maybe he does take the bible literally if you consider that the verses he ignores are also taken literally by him while he is ignoring them: but this is a bizarre standard of literality in my book

(church authority abuse) look like what he saying to his followers " Do not touch the anointed ones" something like that make the followers must obey him! Do not touch the anointed ones applied to the Israelities to follow and obey the kings and prophets before New Covenant! Now we don't need this kind of statement because Lord Jesus Christ is the Anointed One and we depend upon Him through the leading of the Holy Spirit as well as Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church !
