Our 4 year old granddaughter loves to be able to say grace:

Dear Jesus, thank you for to day. Thank you for this food and snow. I hope you have a lovely day. Amen

Dear Jesus, Thank you for the jello. I hope you are having a good night. Amen.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for all the good things we have. Could you please tell Santa that it's not about him. I hope you have a lovely day. Amen.

awwwww - how precious - out of the mouth of babes ..... Pinky2

Mat 21:16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
These are beautiful prayers Vic. Children get to the heart of things, but now my son is 7 he's becoming a bit more demanding : his prayer 2 nights before Christmas "dear God, please make Christmas come fast and be the best Christmas ever, Dear God, Amen" (he always says Dear God, Amen, at the end. On Christmas night his prayer was "thank you for all my presents!"
As we would say in South Africa "Ag shame!"

Thanks Mary. Children do see things so simply and are such an example at times. By 7 their worlds have become much bigger and the pull of the world is right in their face. It's so difficult to keep them grounded and focused on the right things. But, I suspect in spite of the focus, the fact that he prayed was still a good thing, and he knows God is there. I've got to try to remember and write down some of the other prayers I heard from our granddaughter...it's so sweet.

Thanks also Sheep! Great Scriptures!
I remember when my 7 yr old was about 3 1/2, he said I know what the Holy Spirit looks like! He is soft and round and and has bits that stick out, so He can fill up all the holes in you.
