Here's a bit more from my original To Embrace Hebrew Roots series in 1999.
To Embrace Hebrew Roots: Part IX
Talismans & Masters of the Name
Star of David
The Star of David plays an important role in kabbalism and the occult. The misuse of it as the symbol of something positive for Israel, Hebrew Roots and Messianic groups needs to be corrected. There never was a star symbol connected to the reign of David. This symbol is very ancient and was always called by various other names and always in connection to the occult. Hitler--who was heavily involved in theosophy-- used this occult symbol to attempt to shame the Jewish people.
The double triangle is [currently and historically] the symbol for the "chakras of Hinduism" and corresponding sefiroth of kabbalists and also, for witchcraft, sorcery and magicians. It is also referred to as the "male/female triangle", the Crest or Seal of Solomon, the Shield of David, and the hexagram, which is the most wicked symbol in witchcraft. 17.
Dr. Cathy Burns relates that the hexagram is linked with spiritualism in such matters as consulting the dead, reincarnation, the calling up of demons and in some sorcery, is viewed as the footprint of certain demons. The list of its applications includes the Hindu gods and goddesses and many others. 18.
According to the 1972 Edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica, under the article, Magen David, this hexagram symbol is known under various names: “Hebrew…Shield of David…hexagram or six-pointed star.” In this Jewish article, the six-pointed star or hexagram is mentioned many times and acknowledged as being a magical symbol:
“In Arab sources the hexagram…was widely used under the designation “seal of Solomon,” a term which was also taken over by many Jewish groups…It is not clear in which period the hexagram was engraved on the seal or ring of Solomon, mentioned in the Talmud (Git.68a-b) as a sign of his dominion over the demons instead of the name of God, which originally appeared…In Arabic magic the “seal of Solomon” was widely used, but at first it’s use in Jewish circles was restricted to relatively rare cases. Even then, the hexagram and pentagram were easily interchangeable and the name was applied to both figures.”
“Between 1300 and 1700 the two terms shield of David and seal of Solomon, are used indiscriminately, predominately in magical texts…
[Encyclopaedia Judaica; 1972 Edition, Article: Magen David ]
Those who think that the hexagram is the real symbol of Israel--which is in fact, the 7 candle menorah,-- are uninformed. Even Judaic anti-missionaries suggest it came from Babylonian pagan worship, but in the same breath say that doesn't matter. God dealt with the star of remphan/chiun/molech that some in Israel went after...
Acts 7:41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? 43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. See also: Deuteronomy 4:19; 17:3; 2 Kings 17:16; 21:3; Psalm 81:12; Jeremiah 19:13; Ezekiel 20:25,39; Amos 5:25-26; Romans 1:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:11
Kabbalists throughout history have also adopted it as the symbol for the Talisman of Saturn and involves the worship of the god Remphan, which is referred to in the Bible (Acts 7:37-43). It is also referred to in Scripture as the star of Molech (Amos 5:26-27) -- an abomination to God. Solomon became involved in this paganism and built an altar to Molech. An occult source presents a complete history of the Talisman of Saturn or Remphan and its connection to kabbalists at: http://id.mind.net/~wolfc/library/magic/talismans/talisman.htm
Please note also the connection of the Star of David and the mark of the beast, Talismans and astrology. One man, a believer in Christ and of Hebrew descent, said this regarding the occult connections of the Star of David in those articles:
"... Your expose' on the six pointed star again clearly reveals the true nature of this abomination. I asked some leading rabbis in Israel about it, and they confessed that it was not a traditional seal of Israel and its origin was only sketchy at best. We also talked a bit about the Kaballah; with my staunch denunciation of it. Israel is in bondage under that abominable sign and even the sincere don't realize it, and worse even the saved!!
"I had a real uneasiness about it and purged any sign of it from the house a couple of years ago. My wife had a fit, and thought I was crazy for listening to a former Illuminist witch who swore the magen David was extremely evil. I followed my convictions, and your site sealed it for me tonight. I had not realized its direct link to the star of Egypt, and now I know!!" 19.
The Star of David symbol also has sexual significance for occult practices. In the book "Masonic and Occult Symbols" by Dr. Cathy Burns we read:
"…Phallicism is symbolized in witchcraft as a point with an circle and also as the unity of two triangles making a hexagram. These are represented in the Washington Monument and the Star of David. The Mexican Indians used the hexagram as a symbol of their phallic worship. For 300 years the Star of David or Hexagram was known as the "Crest of Solomon." It is used to conjure up demons and is the most evil sign in witchcraft. It means "to hex" or to put a spell on someone."
"When the male triangle penetrates the female triangle, it forms the six-pointed crest of the Seal of Solomon or hexagram, the most wicked symbol in witchcraft". 20.
It should be noted that the Promise Keepers Sacred Assembly was held before the Washington Monument, an obelisk which is a phallic symbol built by the Freemasons.
Further connections become apparent as stated by the Masonic J.D. Buck, who explains that the Star of David and "six-pointed star" or hexagram symbol of the House of Theosophy are identical to the compass of Freemasonry.
"The perfect equilibrium of spirit and matter is symbolized by the six-pointed star, which is again only another form of the Square and Compass, each having a base-line from which to form a triangle." 21.

The Six~Pointed Star
Throughout history, certain occult symbols and words have always been identified with disgrace. A recent example would be Hitler's coercion of the Jewish people to wear the six-pointed star or hexagram, one of the most wicked of occult symbols. "Talismans and Masters of the Name" included information about the occult Star of David, which was confirmed through many sources. This report sources an online promotion of the hexagram.
The Star of David
". . . all evidence suggests that the early use of the hexagram was limited to 'practical kabbalah,' that is, Jewish magic, probably dating back to the 6th century C.E. Legends connect this symbol with the "Seal of Solomon," the magical signet ring used by King Solomon to control demons and spirits. Although the original ring was inscribed with the Tetragrammaton, the sacred Four-Letter Name of God, medieval amulets imitating this ring substituted the hexagram or pentagram. . . " 4. http://users.aol.com/tbstudy/12.htm
"The Six~Pointed Star" report explained that the 'star' or hexagram and the numeral 666 are part of occult initiation practices. A good explanation as to why the term "six hundred threescore and six" was used as "his number," instead of simply writing, 666 was provided by occultist Alice Bailey in her book, The Rays & Initiation:
"In an ancient book on numbers the INITIATE is defined as 'the one who has experienced and expressed 666 and found it naught; who has dropped the 6 and become the 66, and thus found himself on the Way; later, again, he drops the 6 and becomes the PERFECTED 6-FORM, the instrument and expression of spirit." 5.
The hexagram, which is used in the mystery religions, and the significance of "six", is further revealed in astrology to be the god, Saturn. Remember that in astrology, the planets are considered to be gods.
"Sri Aurobindo, a Hindu guru well-known in the New Age affirms that SATURN IS REPRESENTED BY THE NUMBER 6. . . because the planet Saturn is 6th of the nine planets in distance from the sun." (Marrs: Mystery Mark, p. 68) 6.
Hislop's The Two Babylons explains the occult numerology of Saturn:
"Now, the name SATURN in Chaldee is pronounced Satur; but, as every Chaldee scholar knows, consists only of four letters, thus - Stur [ed. Star?]. This name contains exactly the Apocalyptic number." (Hislop, p. 269) 7.
S = 060
T = 400
U = 006
R = 200
The god, Saturn, and the number 6 are found on the Talisman of Saturn which has the six-pointed star on one side and the pentagram on the other.
"On the first face is engraved . . . a pentagram or a star with five points. On the other side is engraved a bull's head enclosed in a SIX-POINTED STAR, and surrounded by letters composing the name REMPHA, THE PLANETARY GENIUS OF SATURN, according to the alphabet of the Magi." (Christian, p. 304-5) 8.
Rempha is precisely the false god mentioned by the first martyr, Stephen, in his sermon to the Council of Jewish leaders and earlier by the prophet, Amos:
Acts 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the STAR OF YOUR GOD REMPHAN, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. (KJV)
Amos 5:26-27 But ye have born the tabernacle of your Moloch, and Chiun (Remphan) your images, the STAR OF YOUR GOD, which ye made to yourselves. Therefore, will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the Lord . . . (KJV)
[Note: Strong's Concordance 4481 identifies Chiun as Rhemphan, "the name of an idol worshipped secretly by the Israelites in the wilderness"]
Regrettably, the newer Bible versions have not only corrupted important verses in Revelation relating to the Mark and the Name, but also these verses which identify the heathen god (Chiun, Rempha, Saturn) that was worshipped by the disobedient Israelites. Note the omission of the name of this god in the New American Standard and New International Versions, but not the King James Bible.
KJV - But ye have born the tabernacle of your MOLOCH and CHIUN (Saturn), your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves. Therefore, will I cause you to go into CAPTIVITY beyond Damascus. . .
[CHIUN: See REMPHAN. Another name for the god SATURN. Strong's Concordance p. 194: 3594 Chiun = "an image" or "pillar" 1) probably a statue of the Assyrian-Babylonian god of the planet Saturn and used to symbolise Israelite apostasy.]
NASV - You also carried along SIKKUTH your King and Kiyyn, your images, the star of your gods which you made for yourselves. Therefore I will make you go into EXILE beyond Damascus. . .
NIV - You have lifted up the shrine of your king, the pedestal of your idols, the star of your god which you made for yourselves. Therefore I will send you into EXILE beyond Damascus. . .
Of utmost relevance to our study of the Name of the Beast in Part I, please note on the Talismans of the Magi web site that Jahweh= Saturn. http://id.mind.net/~wolfc/library/magic/talismans/talisman.htm
Providing further justification for receiving the mark, modern versions also misidentify Satan as the Morning Star, a title that is reserved for Jesus Christ in Revelation 22:16.
KJV - How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, SON OF THE MORNING
NASV - How you have fallen from heaven, O STAR OF THE MORNING, SON OF THE DAWN
NIV - How you have fallen from heaven, O MORNING STAR, SON OF THE DAWN
The set-up is completed through mistranslation of II Peter 1:19, which implies that this misidentified Morning Star [Satan] will assume the ascendancy in hearts of believers
II Peter 1:19
KJV - . . . until the day dawns, and the DAY STAR arises in your hearts
NASV - . . . until the day dawns and the MORNING STAR arises in your hearts
NIV - . . . until the day dawns and the MORNING STAR rises in your hearts. 9

Thanks Vicky! Now I need to read and digest this material.

I used to wear an Israeli flag patch and pin along with various other flags on my MA1 flight jacket, and I used to wear a Star of "David" pendant. When I found out the frightening origins of the hexagram, I got rid of the flags and replaced the pendant with a 7-candle menorah. The interlaced hexagram is used in Freemasonry, Witchcraft, Ritual Magick and possibly Satanism (I'd have to do more research to find out if Satanists use it but IIRC they do).
I wish the Israeli flag had a menorah instead of the hexagram because aside from the star it is a cool-looking flag. It's a stylized tallit (prayer shawl).

Actually the tallit is a kabbalistic concept. It's middle ages Rabbinical Talmudic design. The knots on the tallit are tied according to gematria, which is kabbalah, to define the 613 laws, which are also Rabbinical. The stripes on the tallit are gematria as well. So Judaism "won" the flag design, not the Biblical nation of Israel of the OT. I think people get confused on that. Judaism is a religion that is separate from OT practice.

Thank you again, sheep! We are studying the customs of the people in Bible times in our SS and the "tallit" came up in one of those lessons...that was about 2 months ago. At that time, I was not aware of the kabbalistic origin of the "tallit"...and neither was our SS teacher!
You are correct, the "religion" of Judaism is man made...it is NOT the same as the OT practice...far, far from it! The Reform Judaism in which I was raised, is even farther off base. As a matter of fact, my parents didn't even tell us (me, my brother and sister) we were Jewish until I was 8 years old!
