News Item: : Ethiopia - 'Ark of the Covenant' about to be unveiled?

Holy Ark Announcement Due on Friday

by Hillel Fendel

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/132067

(IsraelNN.com) An Ethiopian church leader says Friday, June 26, marks the right time to unveil the Biblical Ark of the Covenant, which he says has been hidden in his church for centuries.

Abuna Pauolos, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, was in Rome this week to meet with Pope Benedict XVI. While there, he told reporters that the time had come to reveal before the world the Holy Ark. He said that the holy container has been in the custody of his church for hundreds of years.

Paulous said he would make the full announcement this Friday, June 26, 2 PM local time (3 PM Israel time, 8 AM New York time) at a press conference in Rome.

The claim that the Biblical Holy Ark has been kept at the Church, in the city of Axum, is an old one, but this is the first time that the Church plans to actually reveal the actual container, or news of it. It is not known whether the Church claims that the actual Tablets of the Law are inside it.

Copies of the alleged Ark are kept in many other churches in Ethiopia
...

The news of the impending announcement was first reported by the Italian news agency Adnkronos. Pauolos told the news outlet, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that G-d delivered to Moses, and the center of searches and studies for centuries."....

*******

It is believed by Ethiopians that the Ark will be delivered to the Messiah when He reigns on Mount Zion--the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

There are many legends surrounding the Ark of the Covenant, which had been made to God's specifications and had carried the tablets of stone of the ten commandments, Aaron's rod and manna. Exodus 16:32-34, Exodus 25:16, Numbers 17:10

However for Christians, we recall Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

RE: Ark of the Covenant - Vic - 06-26-2009 03:50 PM

Worldnetdaily, http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=102119 reported on the Ethiopian announcement, and not surprisingly promoted the late Ron Wyatt's sketch of the ark and many unprovable and contradictory claims from his website. Richard Rives, who took over Wyatt's organization, has his writings also promoted. They have both made false predictions about the reappearance of the ark.

Wyatt made claims that have been proven false….and his own claimed documentation contradicts itself. He died in 1999. Michael Rood spent time with him and grabbed on to Wyatt's information, and has based his archeological spiel on that.

From the article : Michael Rood, Sky Angel , Ron Wyatt, & The National Religious Broadcasters > http://www.seekgod.ca/roodskyangel.htm

Quote:
Currently, he is being promoted on Sky Angel as, "biblical historian Michael Rood." While most of his Biblical understanding came from The Way International, most of Michael Rood's archeological based information came from the late Ron Wyatt, a self - proclaimed devout Seventh Day Adventist who made all manner of claims. It was using one of Wyatt's videos that helped launch Michael Rood's current theology in Two Harbors, MN, in 1995. He also promoted Wyatt from his website, as "The Biblical archaeological discoveries of Ron Wyatt "and spent time with Wyatt in Nashville prior to his death.

Almost all of Wyatt's claims are refuted by actual archaeologists, scientists, Bible teachers, theologians, Israeli antiquity officials, and others. Wyatt claimed to have obtained licenses to dig from specific Israeli officials, which proved false. Some of the claims and findings that Ron Wyatt put forward and which Michael Rood has assimilated into his own agenda, are the alleged finding of :

Noah's Ark; "Anchor stones" used by Noah for the ark; tombs of Noah and his wife; location of Sodom and Gomorrah; Sulfur balls from the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah (which Michael Rood has 'samples' of); The point of the Israelites' crossing of the Red Sea in Exodus; Debris from the pursuing army of Pharaoh at the bottom of the sea; The site of the Biblical Mt. Sinai, which he claimed to be in Saudi Arabia; The actual rock Moses struck to release water at Kadesh ; A chamber at the end of a maze of tunnels under Jerusalem containing artifacts from Solomon's temple; The Ark of the Covenant; The stones on which God carved the Ten Commandments; The exact site of the crucifixion of Jesus; An earthquake crack under the crucifixion site made at the time of the death of Jesus; Blood of Jesus, which dripped down this crack onto the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant, located in a chamber directly beneath the cross--which Wyatt claimed to have found and also has claimed to have samples of the blood.

While promoting his claims, Ron Wyatt 's theology became paramount as his conclusions were rooted in the Seventh Day Adventist beliefs and that of the alleged visions and teachings of Ellen G White, the SDA's only prophet. Ellen White's prophecies validated the identity of the Seventh Day Adventists as the Remnant True Church. [www.isitso.org/guide/wyatt.html ] Her teachings are viewed as inspired as were the writers of the Bible. The Bible must be interpreted by SDA to harmonize with her writings [Seventh Day Adventism Renounced, D. M. Canright, 1914] . Ron Wyatt presented that theology and claims in two ways. To SDA adherents, their theology was presented and confirmed in conjunction with his claims, but to non-SDA--it all became an archaeological proof of Biblical events--regardless of how skewed or un-Biblical the statements.

For example: is there any Scripture that states Jesus' blood dripped down a crack into a chamber beneath the cross? Or that the Biblically recorded earthquake caused a crack specifically under the crucifixion site? The answer is clearly "no," yet many would believe that it must have been that way, because people like Wyatt and Michael Rood say it was that way.

Wyatt claimed that many of his finds were related to direct revelation or divine intervention and that he had direct visitations from both angels and Jesus Christ. If he saw Jesus Christ in person, , then Christ has "returned" and we all have missed the event. The Scriptures are clear.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be...29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Wyatt's alleged discovery of the Ark of the Covenant and the Ten Commandment stones are part of the "end time prophecy" as it is taught by the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. That meant that the stones of the Ten Commandments would be "brought out" for the world to see at a specific time, as a witness to the world of the True Religion. The concept is that for SDA, who believe that Sunday worship is actually taking the the Mark of the Beast, in the very near future the Anti-Christ and his system will take over and rule the world. He will impose the "Mark of the Beast" aka Sunday worship on all mankind, and those who refuse to accept that mark will be martyred.

Specifically the SDA's Advent Review of 1850 has stated: "Sunday-keeping is an institution of the first beast, and ALL who submit to obey this institution emphatically worship the first beast and receive his mark, 'the mark of the beast.' .... Those who worship the beast and his image by observing the first day are certainly idolaters, as were the worshippers of the golden calf." [Advent Review Extra, pp10,11, August, 1850] And Ellen White wrote in 'Great Controversy,' "The change of the Sabbath is the sign or mark of the authority of the Romish church." ... "The keeping of the counterfeit Sabbath is the reception of the mark." [Ellen G. White, Great Controversy, Vol. 4, p. 281.] [as cited in http://www.bible.ca/7-mark-beast.htm]

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Contradictions in 'storytelling' generally mean something is not right. Ron Wyatt's claims involved conflicting reports, including the online record put forward by his wife, Mary Nell Wyatt. Mary Wyatt detailed the events of the alleged discovery of the chamber which Wyatt claimed to hold the Ark of the Covenant. It is posted as an official record on the Wyatt Archaeological Research website and in that detailed telling of the events, there is no mention of angels. [http://www.wyattnewsletters.com/ArkCov/search.htm]

In May of 2000, regarding the same event and time period, on another "Wyatt Discoveries" site, Anchorstone.com, Wyatt's former associate, Bill Fry, goes into great detail about Wyatt's claims that he saw four angels in the chamber. He said that they "cleaned up" the chamber and set out the Temple artifacts and they then removed the cover of the Ark exposing the Ten Commandment stones, and Wyatt was told by one of them to remove the stones. He allegedly discussed with that same angel numerous times how he should deal with the discovery. The claimed pictures he took were useless and the video that supposedly turned out --he reported to have turned over to the angels in the chamber for safekeeping. And all must remain hidden until the appointed time--except Michael Rood discusses it on his tour itinerary, "unofficially."

Garden Tomb

a. Official tour

b. Unofficial tour by Michael and details on the discovery of the Ark of the Covenant that can only be shown on site.

Michael Rood also falsely prophesied that the Ark of the Covenant would be revealed on Tishri 10, Yom Kippur or sunset November 6, 2000, according to his errant and occult based and many times corrected, "Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar" in his main teaching tape of "Prophecies in the Feasts of the Lord." which was discussed on a pro Rood website. [http://www.hollywoodcalifornia.com/year2000/]

But from his book, the Mystery of Iniquity:

"...Israel entered into a covenant that caused them to pledge land to the UN that had been given to Israel by an everlasting covenant with God. That covenant was made in response to the UN's promise for peace and safety from their enemies.

God will annul this covenant when the overflowing scourge of troops passes through the land on Tishri 1, 6001 (October 29, 2000). The Messiah will confirm the covenant that was made in his blood, when the Ark of the Covenant is brought forth at the height of the invasion of Israel...This is it! When Judah takes Jerusalem and the Ark of the Covenant is brought forth we are eighty-four prophetic months from the Day of Atonement on the sea of fire and glass.

Aviv 1, 6001 (May 5, 2000 at sundown in Jerusalem) began the Day of the Lord - The 7th Millennium. Tishri 1, 6001 (October 29, 2000) begins the fulfillment of the fall Feasts of the LORD. Tishri 10 will be the confirmation of the covenant by Messiah. That begins the last Shevua (7 years) prophesied by the Prophet Daniel. The Latter Rain outpouring of the double portion of Holy Spirit will occur on Tishri 22, at the time of the water oblation on the Last Great Day of the Feast of Tabernacles..."

And we have him writing a letter on September 7, 2001 :

"...September 7th, Elul 18, 6001 - 21 days to Yom Kippur..."

"On the Day of Atonement - the day of the national redemption of Israel, the Ark of the Covenant will be revealed. The Ark, which is the testimony buried in the earth which confirms the Covenant made in the blood of Messiah, will be revealed at the culmination of this war. ....The world will be in a panic in a few short days, but you will know what to do. If you do not, gather your family and friends and watch the following videos in order:

The Great Secret of Solomon´s Temple
The Feasts of the LORD and their Prophetic Fulfillment (10 hours)
The Mystery of Solomon´s Laver ..."
In Tape 3 of The 70th Week Ministry of the Messiah, Rood stated: "...we never [had the whole story] until the Ark of the Covenant --now the whole thing can be told--because of an earthquake."

And in Tape 4 of that series, "Now the whole thing can be told. " Michael Rood states that John 'didn't see the earthquake that opened the ground 20 feet below the cross, below which Jeremiah hid the ark of the covenant in a cave 600 years before." "He didn't see that the top of that stone case was fractured and moved off and when the blood and water poured out from Messiahs side it poured out and down that earthquake fracture 20 feet through that bedrock on to the west end of the Ark of the Covenant. He didn't see it all not at that moment," "..When the Ark of the Covenant is brought out on the day of atonement when the 7th millennium begins".

He teaches that the Jews will know by the reappearance of the ark--but the Bible says they will know when they see Him return. And he states that the Jews will be given the double portion of the Holy Spirit at that time.

..."without understanding the feasts the blood of Jesus is just a few empty words that we can't really fully relate to, unless we really understand the picture that was put in place from the very beginning."

"Seventh millennium begins--which will be sundown September 11, 1999--that is when the intermediate fulfillment of the fall feasts will kick in. ... Seven years later we will see the final culmination because at the beginning of the seventh millennium is when he the messiah confirms the covenant that was made in his blood--that is when the ark of the covenant comes forth...

"Ten days later on the day of atonement, the most Holy day in the entire year ...the ark of the covenant is to be brought forth. That is when the covenant was made in the that is when the testimony that God gave of his son, that is greater than any testimony we can give, will be brought forth. his blood hit the ark on passover, not day of atonement."

"...Ark of Covenant Will come out [of the cave] It will come out by the power of God. The Israeli government attempted to bring the Ark of the Covenant out saying that they were going to take it to a more secure place. The six levites they sent in there to bring it out all died before they reached the cave entrance. They were found dead on the ground. ...The concept of needing to find a more secure place is kind of moot. Because it does say in 2 Maccabees 2 that Jeremiah told the priest to mark out the way so they could find their way back, told them to stop doing this, stop marking the way....the Ark of the Covenant must remain in the secret place and the Lord God will bring it out. And his glory will be seen above the mercy seat..."

We are reminded.

Jeremiah 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

From Anchorstone.com, we see another prophetic statement gone awry, since Ron Wyatt died in 1999.

"...The first was that if Ron remained faithful, he would have a part in bringing out the tables of stone so that they might be put on display. The second was that the Ark was not to be revealed to the world or the tables of stone put on display until shortly after a law was passed that would attempt to enforce the mark of the beast upon people..." http://www.anchorstone.com/aoc_update05.html

From the FAQ page of the Anchorstone: Wyatt Archaeological Discoveries website .

"...When will the Ark be revealed to the world?

We get a lot of pressure from various people about this question but it is God that will dictate the timing of the revealing of the Ark of the Covenant and the tables of stone to the world. No man will make that decision. The timing of that revelation has been revealed to Ron Wyatt. However that revelation will be associated with certain events, not a specific date or time.

The time of the revealing of the Ark is not scheduled to coincide with any dedication or building of a temple or anything associated with it. However, there is an event that will be the signal for Ron to bring out the tables of stone from the place where they have been hidden for over 2500 years. That event will be when man's law forces a form of worship upon people that is contrary to God's law...." http://www.anchorstone.com/aoc_faq.html

From a transcript of a sermon given by Ron Wyatt in New Zealand in 1999, Wyatt again recounted his claims, presented Ellen White theology and then specific events:

"...I found the blood of Christ, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, upon the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant, the earthly throne of God. And it was quite obvious that that blood fell upon the mercy seat on the Passover ...Now this chamber where the Ark of the Covenant was placed - that is the temple of God on this earth. The Ark of the Covenant is His earthly throne. And although the Shekinah glory is not present there any longer, it has not been abandoned. The four angels that were placed on duty at the time the 10 commandments were put in the ark [4 S.G. p.102] are still there. That chamber has been cleaned out. All the furnishings of the tabernacle (of the temple - which were the same) are set in perfect order. The only difference is that the Ark of the Covenant is sitting against the end of the chamber wall. The staves have been removed. And to my understanding that means it's not going to ever be moved again. And behind the Ark of the Covenant is a beautiful wall of transparent crystal, glass, or something and the colors of the rainbow are radiating out above the earthly throne of God. I haven't seen the one in heaven but I know it's described as a rainbow over it.

TEMPLE TO BE OPENED:

So anyway, that is God's temple and will be opened and God's people will be able to see on video the blood of the Son of the living God on that mercy seat, so that they will know that they have been redeemed. And of course, many will take advantage of that and go on to be saved, but others will not be able to say that they were not warned. ..." http://www.arkdiscovery.com/Talk2-13-99.htm

The term "Shekinah glory" is not a Biblical term, but rather a kabbalist or rabbinic term referring to God's presence. God's Temple? Blood on a mercy seat to prove those who believe Christ have been redeemed? The Word of God and faith are true. The fanciful and unproved claims of Wyatt, foolish speculation by Rood and others is worthless, other than to prove that false teachers and false prophets abound--which both by their own words have proven themselves to be.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sightSmile

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

From another Wyatt advocate and museum curator, in the Section entitled: Verification of Ron Wyatt's Description of the Ark of the Covenant !!!

"...Messianic Rabbi Michael Rood has been a supporter of Ron Wyatt's discoveries for a number of years, and Michael recently showed us this copy of "The Sword of Solomon" -- this sword was made from a description given by the Sephardic Jews in Spain, and THIS SWORD VERIFIES RON WYATT'S DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE CHERUBIM WERE POSITIONED ON THE SIDES OF THE ARK OF THE COVENANT!
This is a beautifully ornate sword -- on two ends of the handle guard of the sword there are two Cherubs, AND THESE CHERUBS ARE THE SAME BASIC DESIGN AS THE STONE CARVING OF THE CHERUB THAT WAS FOUND IN ZEDIKIAH'S CAVE THAT LEADS INTO THE CAVE WHERE THE ARK OF THE COVENANT IS HIDDEN!"

...But here is the most STUNNING EVIDENCE -- in the center of the handle of "The Sword of Solomon" IT SHOWS THE ARK OF THE COVENANT !...it makes perfect sense that the Cherubim would be positioned on the sides of the Ark, and it seems that the Sephardic Jews in Spain knew this about the Ark !
This is potentially AWESOME VERIFICATION of Ron Wyatt's description of the Ark of the Covenant, and I sincerely hope you have been blessed by seeing "The Sword of Solomon." "

"This is not the "original" 2500+ year old Sword of Solomon -- Michael Rood was showing a REPLICA of the Sword of Solomon made by a sword manufacturing company in Spain. We are in the process of researching the accuracy of this design and we will be inquiring as to the existence of the real Sword of Solomon -- but no matter what the outcome, it is still fascinating that this rendering of the Ark shows the Cherubim positioned on the "sides" of the Ark! )" [ http://www.pinkoski.com/aoc2.html]
That person also believed that Ron Wyatt was chosen to sit in Moses seat and give us latter day revelation. Odd, or perhaps not, we have Michael Rood "sitting on the seat of Moses" and teaching. From his Israel Tour promotion:

"The Corazin episode of "A ROOD AWAKENING!" will premiere on the way to the Corazin synagogue site.

a. Michael lectures on "The Seat of Moses" while sitting on - the seat of Moses.

From another proponent and which article was posted since at least 2001, speaking about Wyatt's Ark of the Covenant, and referring to an ad on Richard Rives Too Long In The Sun website:

"This is better explained in a two video set that by Michael Rood and Richard Rives made available at http://www.toolonginthesun.com , as well as in Ron Wyatt's video "Ark of the Covenant Update" available at http://www.pilgrimpromo.com/WAR/index.html" http://www.detailshere.com/arkofthecovenant.htm]
*** Richard Rives wrote Sun 1/30/2005 9:03 PM, and stated this concerning this ad,

"...In following the links, I found that you associate me with Mike Rood, speaking of: "a two video set that by Michael Rood and Richard Rives made available at http://www.toolonginthesun.com"

...www.toolonginthesun.com, is my website. I am unaware of any two video set." end quote

Incidentally, this 'Ark of the Covenant' report says that even the video didn't work, which Wyatt claimed to have left behind in the cavern.

...Inside the cavern Ron encountered four angels who told him they cleaned the cavern out, and to remove the stone tablets when they lifted the heavy Mercy Seat lid up. He did so; and then handed them to one of the angels who set the tablets up on a ledge. The angel told Ron God wanted them to be brought out and shown as soon as the beast has commanded that everyone receive the mark. That's heavy; what does that tell you about where we're at regarding the end times. Also inside the Ark Ron found a jar of manna, and Aaron's staff or rod; just as the bible said was in it. Ron resealed the cave entrance and went back home. Ron tired to take pictures of the cavern's contents but God didn't allow it. He used a polaroid, a 35mm, and a video camera and all film turned out blank.

No one dares to enter the cave. The Israeli government is OK with where it is now so they can pull it out when the time is right (maybe during the invasion, just before God destroys 5/6 of the invading army). ..Remember Ron had samples of the blood from along the cracks in the rocks above the cavern and from the Mercy Seat itself below the crack in the cavern ceiling. What he found was amazing to say the least. This is very similar to the Shroud of Turin story. ..." http://www.detailshere.com/arkofthecovenant.htm

Michael Rood promotes the writings of Richard Rives as well as having been on tour with him. Richard Rives, who had worked with Ron Wyatt for many years, became head of Wyatt's organization after Wyatt's death. Richard Rives had traveled and given joint seminars with Michael Rood and Rood's occult calendar manufacturing associate, Robert Wadsworth, since at least 1998 as shown in the following ad still available on Google from Wadsworth's website, and which was discussed in the article Michael Rood: Dad and Early Church Communications....

Quote: In World of the Bible Book Reviews, Randall Price reviewed Holy Relics or Revelation: Recent Astounding Archaeological Claims Evaluated3.<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]-->

“One of the questions frequently asked our ministry concerns the archaeological allegations of the late Ron Wyatt, now perpetuated by the Wyatt Archaeological Foundation, the Prophecy Club, and messianic speaker Michael Rood....The authors, like Wyatt, are Seventh-Day Adventists. Their criticisms therefore, are not as much with his theology but with Wyatt’s supposed archaeological research. Of particular interest is their exposure of inconsistencies in the varied accounts given by Wyatt concerning his discoveries and a collection of excuses by Wyatt for such inconsistencies and for his promised evidence not being forthcoming. This book is recommended to any who have wanted a thorough evaluation of Wyatt and his claims3.” http://www.tccsa.tc/articles/wyatt.html

Randall Price also reported in another article in 1999. His credentials include, "...serves as President for World of the Bible Ministries. He is a Th.M. graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and holds a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. He has done graduate study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and conducted archeological excavation in Israel with the University of Texas in conjunction with the teaching of courses in biblical archaeology and the history and culture of modern Israel...Research Professor of Biblical Archaeology and Biblical Studies at Oregon Theological Seminary in Salem...Adjunct Professor of Archaeology and Biblical History at Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque, and Adjunct Professor of Theology at Bible Baptist Seminary in Clark Summit, PA, and Tyndale Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas." http://www.worldofthebible.com/ourstaff.htm

Regarding Ron Wyatt, Dr. Price stated :

Q. We had a man named Ron Wyatt who came to our city and claimed that he had discovered Noah’s Ark and even the Ark of the Covenant? Is this for real?

A. Ron Wyatt, who has been telling his tales of discovering Noah’s Ark, the chariots of Pharaoh, the pillars of Solomon, the true Mt. Sinai, the tomb of the Patriarchs, Sodom & Gomorrah, the place of Christ’s crucifixion, and the Ark of the Covenant for many years, has been documented as an archaeological fraud. Both former “friends” as well as professional archaeologists in his own denomination (Seventh- Day Adventist) have published detailed refutations of all of his “discoveries.”

Rather than go into such details here we refer those interested in the documentation against Wyatt to request a free packet of papers by archaeologists in Wyatt’s denomination from: Dr. David Merling, Associate Director & Curator, Institute of Archaeology, Horn Archaeological Museum, Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI 49104-0990 (E-Mail: hornmusm@andrews.edu). Concerning ... his supposed discovery of Noah’s Ark and the Ark of the Covenant...His Noah’s Ark site had been examined and long abandoned by Ark hunters and geologists as a natural formation before Wyatt and others came to the spot, and it has continued to be proven to be such... There are eight other smaller formations like it in the area, so if this is Noah’s Ark there must have been a fleet of them!

As to the Ark of the Covenant, Wyatt says that he found it along with the Table of Shewbread, the Golden Altar of Incense, and the Menorah (a seven-branched candlelabra) ...in a cave inside the hill called “Gordon’s Calvary” in eastern Jerusalem. Wyatt even says he scrapped blood off of the Mercy Seat of the Ark, had it analyzed and found it to have half the normal number of human chromosomes (therefore, the blood of the Virgin born Christ). He further says that the Ark was positioned in such a way so that when Christ was crucified His blood fell through a hole in the cliff above and landed on the Mercy Seat (thus fulfilling the atonement typified by this object). While such a story thrills audiences, “Gordon’s Calvary” cannot be the place of Christ’s crucifixion. It has no archaeological support, ...

“Gordon’s Calvary” at the site of the Protestant “Garden Tomb” is part of a complex of First Temple tombs (about 600 years before Christ), but the New Testament says Jesus tomb was “newly hewn” .Wyatt’s “discoveries” have been rejected by real archaeologists not because, as Wyatt contends, they are jealous, or lack faith, but because his stories are unsubstantiated by facts. If facts are the basis for our faith (Christ actually died and rose again), then it is no lack of faith to demand of those with incredible claims that they be supported with evidence. The bottom line is: Wyatt has given us nothing to believe, so believe nothing he says! "http://www.worldofthebible.com/

And so we have the information foundations for Michael Rood, "historian" and his sources for "archaeological evidence". If the claims of Wyatt are viewed as unsubstantiated or proven false, why would anyone follow Michael Rood who is using Wyatt's information for his 'ministry'?

Hi,

Is this statement true?

"The Wyatt Museum is the only archaelogical team ever to be allowed

by the Israel government to excavate the calvary escarpment"

And if it is true, what were they thinking?

Doug writes;Is this statement true?
"The Wyatt Museum is the only archaelogical team ever to be allowed
by the Israel government to excavate the calvary escarpment"

And if it is true, what were they thinking?"

It's a hoax, Ron Wyatt dug a hole there without any arch staff, conned folks into believing that he found the blood of Jesus, refused to provide proof and then after he passed on, the hole was passed on to his colleague who re-dug it with some type of a 'deal' with the IAA who provided an overseer and it came up empty. His wife I'm told, said that they missed the actual spot. They were supposed to refill the hole and brought over volunteers to do it and when they found out that they weren't going to dig, but refill, they too went 'south' and the gang from WAR, left town with the Garden tomb folks with a big hole that needs to be refilled. Before RW passed on he conned some folks from the media who paid him 10,000 US for an exclusive, only problem when they showed up a few other folks having been promised an exclusive showed up at the same time and spot. He then went down into the hole a came out a few minutes later, empty handed. Told them that the 'guy with the long white beard' didn't wish for them to see it, you want your money 'gotta speak with him'.See the book Holy Relics by the Standish brothers, two 7 Dayer's who were fed up with these scams and wrote a book exposing it. Anyway, we now have four calvary's two in Jrsm. one for the Catholics, one for the Protestants, one for SJ and the crowd from BAR in Talpiot and another one found by one of the BAR crowd in NC.

RE: Ark of the Covenant - Padre - 07-23-2010 01:55 PM

I am very interested in this topic, not because I am anticipating the ark to be revealed, but because there are many here in Bella Coola who anticpate this happening as a confirmation of their unscriptural beliefs. So my question is what does the Bible say about the fate of the ark after the fall of Jerusalem? I could ask some other questions as a follow up such as what is the HR's authority for believing the ark must still exist and has a future role to play in redemptive history. What then are the theological implications of this position ?

The disappearance of the ark of the covenant happened in the OT. when the second temple was built by Zerubbabel [book of Ezra], there was no ark in the Holy of Holies. Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Solomon's temple. Solomon's Temple is the last reference to the Ark in the Holy of Holies.

Jeremiah stated this:

Jer 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

Rev says this:

Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Thanks Sheepwrecked,

Did the ark disappear or was it destroyed? if it was hidden a way why wasn't it returned to the second temple? Was Jeremiah's prophecy fulfilled by the rebuilding of the second temple or is it yet to come? The ark in Rev is it the same ark as the original or a heavenly version?

The ark disappeared after Solomon's Temple was destroyed. It's wasn't returned because is disappeared. Obviously God did not want it back Biggrin

Jeremiah's prophecy was before the second Temple was built, proving there would be no more ark [700BC]. The second Temple was the one built during the time of Ezra. It was completed and dedicated [535 - 600 BC]

The ark of the covenant in Heaven is the true ark. The ark of the covenant that Israel built was a pattern of the Heavenly and what was to come [Christ]. The Ark of the Covenant was where the presence of God resided [actually the Mercy Seat which was attached to the top]. The presence of God now resides in all born again believers by the Holy Spirit - Jesus is the Temple and we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. There is no need for an earthly ark or an earthly Temple made with hands.

Thanks again Sheep Wrecked,

Many here cling to some notion the ark is hidden and will be revealed when the third temple is built. Which they anticipate with great eagerness. Go fiqure! These followers of Rood and While (who both can't be right) mix with a group of otherwise benign messianics which makes my life very interesting. What both sub-groups have in common is that their interest in hebrew roots came as a reult of a sincere attempt to examine their church traditions and practices. More on that later in a more relevant thread.

Re Jerimiah 3 I will re-examine that passage later. In the meantime, let me say that many of the issues raised by the "two housers" are their answers to questions the Bible is silent on and so they go to an "authority" who will fill in the blanks for them.

Finally you passed my sniff test for orthodoxy with your response to my third question. So I can lament without fear of ridicule the superstition attached by many tgo the ark.

I am enjoying my time here very much.

You made me smile with your "sniff test" remark Biggrin Our forum is based only in the truth of God's Word, and factual historical evidence when needed 8836

Everyone wants to jump on board to mysteries that are connected to the Bible. So the Ark is a mystic topic that generates tons of interest. When people like Wiley and others start faking locations, then others are swept up into the adventure. Of course the popular movie with "Indiana Jones" only peaks the interest even more Sign0171

I think then problem with 2 housers is that they are not all that familiar with the OT. It is SO clear that the two houses came together after the captivities of both houses. Ezra and Nehemiah, for example, which list the genealogies of those that returned to gather as "one nation" are superb! Smiley-face-thumb

Two House belief give credibility that one is really of Jewish bloodline [Ephramite] and if that is dispelled, then they have no foundation for their belief system. Personally, I see it as a purposeful deception from teachers like Rood and similar [Wiley passed away a couple of years ago] in order to make money, have control over their followers and for the adulation they receive from those who group around them.

RE: Ark of the Covenant - Padre - 07-24-2010 01:56 PM

Good morning Sheepwreck,

Rood, ben MordecI, McWilliams, Cortes and White are just some of the "teachers" I have to deal with on a daily basis here. Here are my thoughts on what they do. At best they tickle people's ears with "proofs" of the faith that are even if valid are unnessecary. We don't need to find the "real" Mount Sinai to understand the event actually happened and what we are to take away from the narrative. At the same time their lack of credible proof is an affront to real apologetics. I would rather watch a program on the Discovery Channel about so-called Bible mysteries. Many of Rood et al's discoveries and subsequent teachings reduce God to a primitive diety with little or no real power who can only be appoached through superstitious rituals.

But the worse part is that inorder to set themselves up as authorities on the scriptures they must first tear down the foundations of their potential followers. They rail against the church for its pagan practices and even doubt cuase people to doubt the reliability of our scriptures.
