El Shaddai Ministries
I wondered if anyone has heard of this ministry. The pastor's name is Mark Biltz and he has been on Fox News and World Net Daily and has quite a large following on the Internet now.
This is where my husband and I have been attending for the last 9 mo. or so. I have some real concerns about what I've been learning there but I'd like to know what others of you out there think. |

Just looking at the home page, I see a number of issues that would be of great concern to me. Just because a teacher is "sincere" and "nice" is not necessarily indicative of the truth. Listing some the issues that I see: * We must reflect the ancient ways he gave us else how can we show that we have something different and better to offer the world. Paul has clearly shown that the Gospel is spiritual - changing the heart. There is no such thing as "the ancient ways" when it comes to what Jesus or Paul taught, but transformation and wisdom by the Holy Spirit, not man or ethnic superiority. * E. W. Bullinger's Books Bullinger believes in soul sleep. He also teaches gematria, which is kabbalah. * Mr Blitz teaches that when one is a believer in Christ, one is grafted into the olive tree or Israel. We are grafted into Christ. Israel cannot save us. * Shavuot is celebrated by lighting candles, decorating with greenery, eating dairy food, learning Torah, attending prayer services, and reading the Book of Ruth. These traditions come from the Talmud which denies Jesus Christ. * El Shaddai promotes FFOZ FFOZ teaches the Talmud and kabbalistic concepts - again, a Christ denying system. * El Shaddai also sells and promotes books by Daniel Lancaster, who is a kabbalist and is associated with FFOZ. There are also books on Gematria written by L Grant Luton and Steve Lightle. |

RE: El Shaddai Ministries
He has all the key words of classic Hebrew Roots for snaring Christians.
In the resources, while he has spoken of the New Covenant, he has this: Renewed Covenant (New Testament) in Hebrew. It's the shell game and if you don't know the game, you will be sucked in. ![]() It is a NEW Covenant, not a RENEWED Covenant. The home page has this, which is so very typical: "The Hebraic Roots movement is many things, but one of its key elements is the work to restore the lost Hebraic nature of scripture faith to Christians. Sometimes this is called returning to our Jewish roots, and so it is in part, but it is more. " We, both Jews and Gentiles belong to Jesus Christ. He is the Root and the Vine. We are grafted into Him and Him alone. ![]() "El Shaddai believes Jews are to remain entirely Jewish in their Biblical traditions and customs and we pray they soon recognize Yeshua as their Jewish Messiah. " Paul rebuked Peter and the other Jews. Galatians 2:11-16 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? 15. We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. The apostles were setting the example we were called to follow for living for Christ. Jews and Gentile believers. We are not under the law of the Old Covenant. We are under the New Covenant, written on our hearts, with salvation through Jesus Christ, by God's grace alone. Biltz mentions that just the curse of the law is nailed to the cross and many more HR errors. There is just so much that he is teaching, that we have already discussed in the various threads. ![]() This is just so typical of Hebrew Roots, that I think once your are more familiar with the info we have, you will be able to pick issues out and refute them successfully, with facts and Scripture.
Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |

I told my husband that I thought Pastor Biltz was teaching Kabbalah but he didn't believe me and said "so what?" I need to really study this so I can tell him why it's harmful. As I said in an earlier post, I don't intend on going there anymore and I did try to explain to him why. I told him that we're not under the law and read a few verses out of Hebrews and Galatians. He said that he does'nt think we can understand the NT without the OT interpretion(I guess that's a typical HR response!) I really feel like I'm in the middle of a battle now. He told me that "we could part ways over this" Not sure exactly what he meant by that. I'm going to keep studying all you HR threads til I really feel like I understand more of all this. I have another thing I want to say. These teachers who are leading so many people astray will stand before the Lord someday and have to answer to Him! I was told that there are some 40,000 people who listen to Mark Biltz over the Internet! That's a lot of misled souls! I guess I'm feeling a little angry right now.... |

RE: El Shaddai Ministries
I first found out about him when he started talking on the net about eclipses and his red moon theory - I think thats where the majority on the net first heard of him and his information was on loads of forums.
I used to get his newsletters via email and then when I discovered this forum I went back to one of his newsletters and saw that he was promoting kabbalah - so I unsubscribed and left a message as to the reason why I was doing it. |

RE: El Shaddai Ministries
Its a thin line between
wanting to follow God and be influenced by men Same bible......different explanation There are here (in Holland) more then 150 different denominatios. And Holland is a very litle country. All those denominations base theyre believes on the same bible. Who is to say who is right and who is wrong. Sometime its just thinking logical and sometimes its facts that convince us. the truth is somewhere in the middle....is a saying I think we will be very surprised once God makes a new earth and all then we will really know the truth and how God sees it and ment it. (05-18-2009 06:49 AM)Emjesown Wrote: Its a thin line between Do you really think the truth is "somewhere in the middle"? That sounds like God is leaving it up to us to "guess" what it is ![]() Jesus said that He is the Way, The TRUTH, and the life. And He said, if you stay in my Word, you shall have the truth and the truth will set you free. He also stated that He said nothing in secret - and He sent the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth through His Word. WOW! ![]() Man's attempts to redefine God's Word is where the trouble starts. Instead of believing what is read, man tries to force it into something that is not there or add more to it to make it "more understandable". This is why there are so many denominations. People are not happy with the simplicity of the Gospel, they want it to feel good and "experience" God with all their additions, liturgies, practices and traditions. Since I left the church and the false movements I was a part of, I can see the beauty and simplicity of the Word of God. Is is the most wonderful thing to be able to read the Word without "interpreting it", finding the "sod level", seeing mystic associations, trying to parallel it and allegorize it every which way but God's truth. It is stated simply and clearly. As Paul said: 1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1Co 2:6 However, we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: 1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory: 1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. 1Co 2:10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1Co 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. 1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Co 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 1Co 2:16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. |

I told my husband that I thought Pastor Biltz was teaching Kabbalah but he didn't believe me and said "so what?" I need to really study this so I can tell him why it's harmful. Peg, if one looks at the track record of Hebrew Roots and it's leadership, you will see many have divorced their Christian wives--or non believers---they were given time to come around to changing their beliefs to the being under the law, etc, but if they did not go into or refused this error, they were divorced under "the law", -"as Moses allowed", and the 'torah observant' one remarried someone who had embraced this. It is terribly tragic and not of God. Most end up rejecting and separating from Christian family and brethren, because we become pagan and ungodly by their definitions. It is very sadly part of the fruit of this heresy. You said it when you see that you are in a battle. It is a major spiritual battle--huge. And you need to be well armed, because it is a battle for Christ. The Scriptures are our standard of Truth. It isn't a guessing game of what if's. It proves or disproves doctrines and beliefs. If your husband has known Christ, he will be coming to the point of making serious judgment errors, including and starting with having to interpret the NT from the OT. It's the beginning of dismantling of the truths of the NT, the New Covenant, and who Jesus Christ is, and what He did. Sometimes it is what is not said that is the issue. And how something is worded, simply because of the error found in his other teachings. Starting with the Renewed Covenant, which must then deny the finished work of Christ. It is a subtle dismantling to start with, but once started, it can become entrenched. And that he is teaching kabbalah ridden concepts is not a surprise. We are with you in prayer in this Peg. And anything you need help understanding, you ask. Rest assured, God isn't done with all this. The fact that you have been removed from it says much. Allow God to give you the understanding and the words to fight this battle. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4. Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5. For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:17-19 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. Colossians 3:15-17 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. James 1:2-5 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
