RE: Tithing
I disagree. Pastors should be paid for their ministry. Paul spoke of the not muzzling the ox that treadeth the corn in the context of pastors for a reason.'
The ox was not to be muzzled so it could eat when it got hungry as it was doing its work. The food it ate was its reward for serving the farmer. It is the same with the pastor. He should be paid for his service. The same passage states that the laborer is worthy of his hire. Pastoring is a full-time job and pastors are to be compensated for their service just as God's Word declares. |

RE: Tithing
Rick,
You have the most judgmental spirit I have ever enountered on the internet. Terms like, Sweetie, honey, brother, and sister warm up an otherwise cold medium. Please get off your high horse and stop giving me a hard time. Why do you keep picking a fight? |

I don't know where you come from, but that is very inappropriate, where I come from. As a single man I would not address a Sister that way. More so, as a married man and a Pastor. Let's do this. Let's see what Sheep says. And also, ask your wife what she thinks. I can guarantee, that my wife would cringe. We don't need to be "warming" people up. But, I will let the Sisters speak. Jer 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

RE: Tithing
I only use the term to warm a very cold and impersonal medium. If you dont use words to reflect warmth online people tend to get offended. Rick I am happily married, very, the implication is not appreciated. Maybe next time you could ask me what I meant. By the way I have called Sheep "sweetie" in e-mails to. To me this is a term of endearment. if sheep was irritated by it I am sure she would have told me already, she did not.
Where I come from "sweetie" is a common term of endearment. If it offends I wont use it......GEEZ |

RE: Tithing
I prefer not to be called "sweetie" but I did not make it an issue. I chose to ignore it. I am used to men calling me terms of endearment hoping to make an impression on me
But perhaps under the circumstances we can avoid it from now on

Why not just call people by their nics or names if you know them. It really works well. ![]() BTW--you have used the term GEEZ--a few times. Where we come from that's just a round about way of swearing and taking the Lord's name in vain. ![]() You really should try the smiley's instead, to get your point across.
Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |
