RE: Was that a Renewed Covenant or New Covenant
Isa 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
Isa 42:2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. Isa 42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth justice unto truth. Isa 42:4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has established justice in the earth: and the coastlands shall wait for his law. Isa 42:6 I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant to the people, for a light to the Gentiles; Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Isa 51:4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my justice to rest for a light of the people. From those verses we see that is a future law, in the hebrew it specifically says Torah there, that is spoken of. It is a new law can we say? Because the people of Isaiahs time were well acquainted with Sinai Law yet the passages speak of a Torah to come..So to answer your question it is not Sinai Laws that are written on our hearts. Its the laws of the Kingdom of God given by the King Himelf, Jesus.. Jeremiah also speaks of a new covenant to come that would be everlasting Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. |
