A couple weeks ago people were cursing Martin Luther because of his quoting Jesus talking to the Pharisees calling them a "brood of vipers", etc. I assumed it (cursing/ spitting) was from the movie Fiddler on the Roof. Do you have a post already started on the Reformers or so-called anti-S and those who curse them? HI Dee, I am not sure about the reformer thread per se, or about cursing people, but think we have something on anti semitism. This concept of praying the blood of Jesus, that's a charismatic/pentecostal concept making the blood into a talisman. We are to pray in Jesus name, because of Him, and it's His authority and power that deals with things. I am not sure if I am saying this clearly at all. I did write about this in the Joseph Prince thread if you want to read it maybe a little clearer there. So glad to hear about where you and your hubby are at. It can take time but God is so faithful to do a good work in us when we really do want to serve Him in obedience. Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |

I'm not from a Charismatic background, but have read a book about the 'blood'. I think anyone who doesn't have a true faith with God (works for salvation) also makes verses of Scripture [or prayer siddur] itself as a talisman. Repentance is key. |
