Mat 19:23
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The two richest men in the world are both agnostics:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Buffett

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billionaire
Apparently eight people own half the world's wealth, a fact that is disconcerting.

Jesus says that a rich man going to heaven is very unlikely, but He doesn't say it is impossible (I think).

Good point about who is holding most wealth worldwide. Here's the Scriptures you were referring to and what we are all to do.

Mat 19:21-30

(21)  Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
(22)  But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
(23)  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
(24)  And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
(25)  When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
(26)  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
(27)  Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
(28)  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
(29)  And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
(30)  But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Mar 10:20-25

(20)  And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
(21)  Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
(22)  And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
(23)  And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
(24)  And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
(25)  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Job 31:24-25
(24)  If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;
(25)  If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;
...Job 31:28  This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

Mat 6:19-21
(19)  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
(20)  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
(21)  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

1Ti 6:17-19
(17)  Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
(18)  That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
(19)  Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

1Pe 1:3-5

(3)  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
(4)  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
(5)  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

3John 1:4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I have zero idea what is up with this formatting.  I cannot get this quote function to work on this stupid device.  Badday

Props for those verses.  I found the same story in Luke's Gospel, which refers to the rich dude as a ruler (*cough* Trump *cough*)

Luk 18:18
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Luk 18:19
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

Luk 18:20
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Luk 18:21
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

Luk 18:22
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Luk 18:23
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
Luk 18:24
And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Luk 18:25

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Luk 18:26
And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
Luk 18:27
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

I think He was saying that it is extraordinarily difficult for a rich man to enter heaven, but God can make it feasible if the rich man is willing to read Scripture and let God work through him.  David and Solomon presumably weren't poor, nor would Joseph have been.

Certainly I would like to be rich, but I want to be a philanthropist.  Yeah, a misanthropic philanthropist.  Warren Buffett and Bill Gates donate gazillions to charities, so if two agnostics can do it a Believer can do it, albeit on a smaller budget.
