Hello From Bella Coola, B.C
I've been boping around here for some time now. I am fairly new to religion, 7 years now. Not realy counting the time I lived with my grandmother and she sent me off to sunday school as a boy. Sadly I have lived a very troubled life that at times is hard to talk about at times.
As a young boy I was sexualy abused from the age of 7 to 10 by my step father. After that I was taken away from my family and became a ward of the B.C gov. I ran away lots and found myself living on the streets of Vancouver. I became a drug addict and a criminal, I went to jail for my first time at the age of 13. Youth jail is very very bad and was the worst part of my life. it was in this jail that I became very mad at God, i felt that he gave up on me. I became very mad at all things and strated to like being an *****. As my life went on I was in and out of jail alot, when I was about 23 I hit the big time and I picked up 10 years for robbery. I was hooked on coke at the time and had not went to sleep in 5 days or so and I thought picking up a gun and robbing some one would be easy. Needless to stay it was the best thing I ever did, that was the day God saved my life from the hell I was living. I did my time and got out in 7 years and started go to Narotice Anonymous meetings and started to work the steps. I found my self working as a carpenter while on parole. its awsome how God uses things to bring you closer to him. I never really thought much of it at the time but boy God was working on me wheather I knew it or not. I started working at church in Victoria B.C and when that was over I got another job working at a church as a carpenter. When that ended I found myself at a Jewish church, it was then that started to wounder. my life was coming together but I seem to missing some thing. A friend of mine from NA had been buging me to come to church for along time. So I went to the SDA church with him, it was that day that I learned that they were having a revelation seminar for the next 18 weeks at 7pm. well I thougt what the heck I'll check it out. for the next few weeks I found myself trying to find the lies they were talking to me about in my bible. The funny thing was it was all true and I had been really missing the boat. I was baptized one year later into the SDA church. Before I was about to baptized I told the Pastor that I didn't want to be a member of the church and that I just wanted to be baptized to Gods love. The pastor jaw hit the ground, he told that I could not be baptized unless I joined the church. Well I joined the church and its not to bad as far as i can tell so far. I always had issues with churches for some reason and I could never really put my finger on why. I met my wife a short time later and i started working on being a counselor at Uvic. I was told by my teacher that I was naturally gifted counselor based on my life and the way I opend myself up. I went on to work with street people in Victoria as an A&D counselor. Its funny how God lead me in my work, I was a carpenter and now I'm a counselor. My wife finished school and started working as a teacher. We moved from Victoria to Bella Coola for my wifes new job. Soon after I got a job working with the natives as a counselor. The reason I found this web page is because of Micheal Rood. My church as I speak is being split by feast keepers, i'm a Deacon at the church now. Its sad as one of them is my father in law and my wife has lost alot of respect for her father. i am the one thorn in there sides and have had a few go arounds with some of them. I'm not one who looks for verbale fights but I will not be pushed around or misslead. well that some of my story Hueman |

hueman,A fellow Canadian. ![]() You've had quite a journey, and I am sure God will still continue to lead you into the truth of the Scriptures. I have seen it time and again how He moves us steadily to where He wants us. All He wants is someone that desires to know Him and obey Him. Glad you decided to introduce yourself and I hope you will jump right in and keep posting. ![]()

RE: Hello From Bella Coola, B.C
Hi Hueman, Thanks for sharing.
It is amaseing how God heals what mankind has injured. I think you had the right idea when you wanted to decline belonging to the church but wanted to belong to Gods love. We know that Jesus is the perfect expression of that love. He is the true body, the true Church, the only one we should be immersed into. Into Christ. It is rather appalling when you think how men create institutions and then tell us that to be right with God we need to join them rather than Christ. Peope may split the institutions but they can never split the Church of Jesus. It seems that there is something evil that is always trying to suck people back into the bondage of the law even after they have been set free by Jesus. Let the freedom that Jesus bought for you reign in your life. I live in Quesnel Blessings (03-31-2009 01:14 PM)hueman Wrote: I've been boping around here for some time now.
