RE: Communion
The Lord's Supper can be held in the church, in a bible study meeting or even in the home - as often as you like. There was no restriction on how often you celebrated it. I think that the very early church celebrated it at first on a daily basis

Act 2:46 "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, "

as a fellowship meal - it is even mentioned earlier in the sentence than praying.

Act 2:41-42 "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."

But

By the time we get to Acts 20 it is being spoken of as something done weekly and I know of many churches that have the Lord's Supper weekly.

Act 20:7 "And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. "

Since the bible does not specify the frequency I think its up to each individual when they observe this - the most important point is that we obey what our Lord told us to do. "This do in remembrance of me"

Thanks everyone! You all really are a blessing. I feel that I am getting so much information that was never offered to me previously and the great thing is that it is all directly from God's Word! That makes such a difference. Have a great day!

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

You are right, Emje. 47b20s0 It means basically, when ever you decide to do it, this is how you are to do it. Coffeebath

Hi Mark, So glad you are finding the discussions of help. And it does make a huge difference in a discussion if the focus is the Word of God, and the desire is obedience to that Word. Reading
