ps: I don't have a "good Bible believing church" "locally". I do have a Kingdom Hall not too far away. Are you suggesting I give it a whirl?

LOL!! Funny Stuff Sheep! Then travel as far as need be and get connected. You can do it. That is if the Lord is that important to you.

[If I travel to a Bible teaching church - it will no longer be "local". Please define "local".

If I am understanding you correctly, then Paul did not think the Lord was all that important seeing how He missed meeting with the "local" church for a good share of his life.

I never said that I wasn't in a local body of believers. Where did I say that? I meet with local believers, but if you can't or there are none that you are in agreement with, does God cast you off. Are you suppose to shrivel up and die? See my Psalm below. 18:29.

I challenge you to hand over preaching of the messages to other men for a month.

I challenge you to get down out of the pulpit and sit in a pew for awhile.

I challenge you to do nothing and see what happens in your church.

See if they know how to stand on their own two feet and cling to Jesus or see if they are lost without you.

Hand out a list of all the sick people and tell others that you just can't visit them anymore.

What makes you think that you always have the Word of the Lord for every single circumstance and situation? That is quite "heady" stuff.

You are the man of the hour with the power and I am sure you don't see it this way, but I will tell you one thing, it is coming through loud and clear.

Chris, you are just not sufficient for all these things and like I said before, the more Professional you become, the more spiritual death you leave in your wake.

It is clear that you are not ready to receive anything that anyone has been telling you. I dare say you have not given one inch on anything. That's because your very livelihood is inextricably linked to your ministry. If you accepted the fact that a Pastor was not a Professional position that encompassed most of the Preaching, most of the Teaching, most of the ministry to the Sick, most of the Administration, then it would have severe ramifications for you and this is why you are so resistant. It's called JOB SECURITY.

Paul was in prison! And in addition he had many visitors and companions. Where two or more are gathered......remember. So a church doesnt have to be a large group of people. Paul would make a church if there was none, he would convert people to the faith and then begin a new church. If you dant have a local body then start a church in your town. Thats biblical. Internet fellowship as a replacement of the church is nOT.

Interesting about the internet thing. This is what Paul said:

Col 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

Do you then suppose that Jesus is present in Spirit with believers who are studying the Word together on the net? or is Jesus confined to the church building?

I think you have most everyone wrong in here. It is pretty astounding with all the information that many people have given you.

Hmmm - there seems to be a bit of contradiction. First you have spent many posts espousing the virtues of the church, unless one is a member of a "local" church and "under" a pastor, one does not think the Lord is important.

Now you tell us that a church does not have to be a large group of people. Which would make it pretty impossible to build a "local church" [lack of cash].

It would be quite impossible for some of us to start a local church. Some of us are not equipped to do so. We don't have a seminary degree and therefore have not quite arrived at the spirituality it would take to accomplish this all but impossible feat. I believe you said we were "cultish" as well, which was only one item on a very long list of our shortcomings.

ps: where does it say that Paul had "many visitors and companions" in prison with him? which was not the local church - no "pastor" oops ......

Sheep read your Bible.....Paul did have companions is prison and he converted many of the Roman soldiers. but whatever your just not listening.
