Quote:Simply what Jesus said, as heaven and earth still remain so does the law. Being such the law remains, but are we under it...umm, now it becomes fun, since:

You still didnt say which law Wink
You referenced

Quote:Mat 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Mat 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Mat 5:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Is Jesus not affirming there the word of God as standing forever?

Jeremiah who promised a "new covenant " (because the old one Israel broke) is as much a part of what Jesus affirmed as the law.So to me that verse cannot be used to say that we are still under Mosaic covenant and law.
Jesus didn’t say just the Law, he said the Law and the Prophets, which include Jeremiah and his promise to make a New Covenant.
If we say that the Mosaic Laws and covenant will always be in force how does Jeremiahs prophecy get fulfilled?
Smile

Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
