RE: Jewish Wedding Parallels the Rapture
2Cr 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body,(literally through his body) according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad. ( done in his body - the body that is Christ’s church whilst here on earth before the tribulation and his Second Coming)
This in 2 Cor 5 is a judgement seat, but not the judgement seat that is called the Great White Throne Judgement which takes place as recorded in Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. The 2 Cor 5 judgement is a judgement of believers - the word WE at the start of that verse is referred to 25 times in Corinthians by Paul and always refers to the church. The judgement seat mention there is called the bema seat …indicative of a small raised platform on which a judge is seated … and is not the seat recorded in Rev 20. They are distinguished one from another in terms of one being small the other being great. The word for this place is not bema seat, but it is thronos. The judgement involving believers in Cor 5 is not about their salvation, it is about their works, judging the fruit or otherwise of their life whilst in Christ. This is not the great white throne judgement of unbelievers. For the judgement of the believer as a sinner has already taken place in the past , there is no further judgement to come. But the quality and authenticity of their work (life) IS judged. It is possible to obtain a100 fold -Gen 26:12 ¶ Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. It is the production of, the fruit of the word in our lives that determines our reward - Mar 4:8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 1Cr 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1Cr 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 1Cr 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1Cr 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1Cr 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (burnt up , judged by fire) The rapture takes place before our works are judged, so we are not talking about a judgement that prevents us going to heaven - Nothing shall separate us. The great white throne is not the judgement of believers it is the judgement of unbelievers. Unbelievers do not recieve a reward, they do not enter or inherit the kingdom - His reward is WITH Him, we are his reward - we are presented to the Father - When he returns to earth WITH His bride, He hathers all those who have come to faith in the Tribulation, though His own work and own testimony, and those worked through His 2 witnesses and the other 144000 who are His. The dead works will be cleansed, the bride prepared and preparing - the believers are not judged in terms of salvation, they are judged regarding the production, the quality of the word in their life. |
