RE: Ark of the Covenant

Rood, ben MordecI, McWilliams, Cortes and White are just some of the "teachers" I have to deal with on a daily basis here. Here are my thoughts on what they do. At best they tickle people's ears with "proofs" of the faith that are even if valid are unnessecary. We don't need to find the "real" Mount Sinai to understand the event actually happened and what we are to take away from the narrative. At the same time their lack of credible proof is an affront to real apologetics. I would rather watch a program on the Discovery Channel about so-called Bible mysteries. Many of Rood et al's discoveries and subsequent teachings reduce God to a primitive diety with little or no real power who can only be appoached through superstitious rituals.
But the worse part is that inorder to set themselves up as authorities on the scriptures they must first tear down the foundations of their potential followers. They rail against the church for its pagan practices and even doubt cuase people to doubt the reliability of our scriptures.
