Quote:Question arises if I am witnessing to an unsaved person who throws a bloodied piece of meat before me should I forsake that commandment in acts so as to not offend them? or pleasantly refuse it explaining to them why I cannot eat it explaining it is because of Christ that I don't eat it.

Or just go ahead and eat the thing so as not to offend them or hinder the gospel and compromise the commandment of Christ whom is the reason the Gospel is here because of?

personally I go with the first

Good question Malawk and one thing that comes to mind is, and sorry to sound blunt, is that God sets the rules. Not you and not me.
God gave us new food rules concerning gentiles which came to christ.
But to say that you wont eat for example a delicious pork roast (I don’t think pork is delicious but your hypothetical host does and she spent two hours preparing it) the person your witnessing to has lovingly prepared, and thus offend and upset when those restrictions are not in place anyway is imposing your way and not Gods.
His way now removes the dietary restrictions that made the children of Israel set apart and equips us to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. That means encountering a wide variety of cultures, traditions etc with diverse and at times strange dietary practices. Nowhere do we see in the NT where it says make sure to introduce the people to the concept of clean and unclean foods. On the contrary we get some food regulations and they certainly don’t indicate that gentiles have to abide by the food laws that the children of Israel had to under the Old Covenant.

As to the whether I would eat a piece of bloodied meat in the situation you posed above. I am reminded of the story of David and his kinsmen when they ate the showbread. That was a transgression of Gods command, yet do we see condemnation in the act by Jesus?
Imagine if that a person was not saved because you failed to act on an opportunity that could have been eternal life saving and that you foregoed it so as not to eat a piece of bloody meat. What has more value in the long run? You eating blood ,which like jesus said eventually passes out into the latrine or a persons eternal salvation?
And to make it even worse what if you then went and ordered a pizza without bothering to check the ingredients list and then that pizza happens to contain pork, bloody meat and other possible unmentionables.I´m not saying you do Malawk, but I have met many messianics who place undue care on one thing and then neglect other things which by their definition would also be forbidden.

Just some thoughts there Wave
