Your statement here about God making the rules and not you or me is why I am extremely cautious about saying what commandments are done away with and what are not. Like Jesus said here..

Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

If for every idle word how more about the jots and tittles of what He said He came not to destroy but to fulfill? Think you will agree Rose that the word of God (whom even Jesus is said to be) is important and not to be handled "loosely" , which is why for me, I am cautious as to what I say is "done away" with and what is not.

As your refferencing Gentiles there in acts of course I agree only 3 things there pertaining to food are mentioned for Gentile believers in Christ, yet here this topic goes also into Jews and Christ and God, something very serious, going all the way back to Sinai some 3400 years ago and thier covenant with Him.

Its a good refference you make to David with the shewbread and Jesus with the disciples, I'm trying to imagine a scenerio that I would be almost seemingly forced to ingest blood on one hand and another persons soul on the line in the other hand, thinking the best case scenerio would be to not break Gods commandment and save the soul but thats not what your asking, ones eternal life is more important though to answer your question, notwithstanding keeping and being faithful to Him is also Life aswell.
