Let's talk about the issues of raising kids today. What they watch on TV, who they hang with, what kind of education should they have - whatever is on your mind!

What they watch on TV, who they hang with, what kind of education should they have - whatever is on your mind! That's quite a big happy family you have there! I had to send 4 of your "children" to camp since I am only allowed 10 children (images) per message. It's ok, they're having FUN. I will start it off by a quote from Michael Pearl that I learned of when I was a young Daddy with one 2 year old. "More is caught than taught". That one phrase had a big impact on me and still does to this day. At first I was terrified, because I know me. And I would need some quick "re-training." And then, here is a scripture. Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Actions and Words are caught by little minds. First, when they are really young, ACTIONS and then they catch all of our WORDS and ACTIONS as they get older. Not just the WORDS but the inflections and tones that go with them. No wonder, Parenting is not for the faint of heart. Still learning, still trying, still crying out for grace and wisdom. Can anybody relate? I will close with this. 1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Jer 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

RE: Raising Kids
Good thoughts. Having raised our children, foster children, babysat a myriad of children, and now having grandchildren, I can say, I'm still learning. What a great joy it has been becoming a grandparent. A whole new chapter of blessings and challenges. ![]() What I do know, that love is the very foundation for raising children in the Lord. Responding in love, showing love, receiving love....it's all about love and realising the gift we have in our children, to raise them to know of Christ, is the greatest gift. What an opportunity to share Christ one on one, every day...morning til nite. And how often do we or have we blown it, and yet show our love by starting again to build those relationships to be the best they can be. ![]() Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Psalms 127:3-5 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |

If we do not love our children and talk about God at the same time, they will not follow Him. Their hearts will be closed to the Spirit of God. Kinda how God raises us. Showers us with love, mercy and grace (NOT LAW) and when He corrects us, we receive it because we trust and love Him. Jer 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
