About All Those Smilies??

If you take a look at all the available smilies when you go to post, you will see a large selection. Apparently two admins are hooked on smilies (I won't say which two) and so we needed to keep them happy. :therethere:

With the advent of the internet, and forums, communication can be challenging when we only know a person by what they type. Smilies can help put an emotion across that our typing skills may lose. And they can take the edge off a deep or intense discussion. I hope the selection will help you get across what you are trying to get across.

In the off chance you feel there is a lack in a particular emoticon, please do let me know. You may think the smiley menu disappears when you insert a smiley, but it likely moved behind your open page..

Update:
Some have encountered a few problems inserting the smilies.

If, when you use the smilies, you end up with the link instead of or with the smiley, this is what you need to do.

When you want to insert a smiley, click the spot in your post that you want it, then go to the smiley window to the left of the message window---if you see one in the small window, click on it, if you want to see all the selection click on the "get more". Then you can either click on the smiley you want and it will go into where you have previously wanted it ---or---you can copy the code which shows up in the smiley list to the right of each column of smileys. So if there is a pic of a :-) and it says :happy: you would either click the pic to insert or copy/paste the code where you want it.

If you preview your post, and then re-edit you will need to reopen the smiley list each time, or, copy/paste from the code. The picture won't insert otherwise. :pcwhack: And as stated in the info above, if the opened window of smiley's disappears, it's likely behind your open post window or any other open window.

For those who may have noticed, there were some problems with the Smilies the other day as I added a few more.

Well, maybe a few more than a few.

I also tried to sort them into some semblence of order which will mean you have to relearn where all your favorites are in the list.

UNfortunately, they don't load totally in the intended way. I know some might feel a bit overwhelmed

But I am sure it will be

These little smilie fellers don't always post when you click on the icon...so have to copy and past the command...then it works fine
