RE: The Second Blessing of the Holy Spirit
FlowerprI agree that we are sealed once by the Holy Spirit, my Idea of being refilled is as a cup that is poured out to others as we reach out to them in there need either threw prayer or service or witnessing. That is when we need the Holy Spirit to fill us again. Not that we are made void of his Spirit but we need him to fill us back to full.

What if filling us with the Holy Spirit is more like empowering us to do what God wills for us? I was thinking this as I read Acts:

Act 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

It looks to me like the filling of the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples for boldness to preach the Gospel.

========

Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Could that be the filling for Spirit led worship?

Here, being filled with the Holy Spirit enabled them to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance:

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Then it looks like Paul was given the ability to discern Elymas' heart:

Act 13:8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Act 13:9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
Act 13:10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Act 13:11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

Just thinking Biggrin

I agree the Holy Spirit gave them power to preach, power to discern, power to worship, power to heal, Praise the Lord for his wonderful working that he has allowed us to walk in, thank you Jesus. There are so many working of the Spirit and gifts of the Spirit, Doesn't the word say this is the same power that rose Jesus from the dead that now quicken's our mortal bodies. There is Power Power wonder working Power in the Blood of the Lamb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smiley-happy093:And we must not forget the Fruit of the Spirit wish is Love Peace Joy in the Holy Ghost. Love being the principal thing for if we have not love we have nothing. and by this we are known as belonging to him. Sorry I went all over the place with this post. may the Lord fill us all with his love to the top and overflowing that we might please him in all things.Grouphug5
