Can Christians be part of the One World Religion?
Many have thought that the term One World Religion means everyone believing the exact same thing. However we can see that part of the belief is uniting on things that can be agreed upon and ignoring things that cause disagreement. Another aspect is the unity in diversity, religious tolerance, which ends up often of having Christians accused of intolerance. Many under the banner of Christians have united with other beliefs and have become united with unbelievers spiritually. Are we Christians called to that?
For more information on this topic: http://www.seekgod.ca/topicpaths.htm Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |

RE: Can Christians be part of the One World Religion?
No we are not. According to the Bible; while we are in the world...we are not of it. While we are to show due respect to those who hold authority, the line is drawn when it comes to the Word of God. God's word comes first. We are light and salt to a darkened world, so while this world may compel some "renderring unto Ceasar"...Our Faith and Salvation belongs to the One Triune God.
Historically, we have a centuries old precedent before us on how the "religious tolerance" of so called "one world" movements ultimately end in intolerance and total enslavement; both physical and spiritual. One only need trace history from the Romans to the present day to see the reality of that....and one only has to take the Centerpiece of Time....that was the Lord's First Coming...and trace the History before...and marvel at the balance. We, as Christian, are becomming increasingly unpopular to the world simply by the fact we shine light into their darkness; and that truly is a mark we already have. |

Those who stand for the truth of christ as opposed to false religions all too often do it out of bigotry self righteousness and arrogance. A street preacher who harmed me greatly because i fell under his preaching of fear and guilt, is hated by intelligent unbelievers for his stupidity, rudeness and arrogance. And they discern correctly, but then proceed to blaspheme the Name because of this (as the bible says would happen). I have never seen a believer so kind gentle merciful and cheerful that he was hated out of sheer bloody minded spiteful envy. But i have seen bigots get their come uppances time and time again. After all St Peter said do not be persecuted for doing evil, rather for doing good. Years ago when i was "witnessing" to an unbeliever, i mentioned sin and he accused me of name calling. I stopped because i knew he was right. separate and distinct from the truth I was speaking was my crystal clear motive for saying it. This was over 25 years ago, but i never forgot it as it was simply the truth. My words might have been good. My deeds, if i could force them out, might have been good, but my manner gave the game away. as for the opening question: it is not a question of whether it is permissable or not or possible or not, for these things never stopped anyone. The question is are these things forgivable. My youthful zeal was self righteous nonsense. I was showing by it that I was of the world as well as in it and in the process turning the gospel into merely another doctrine. Doctrine as doctrine is cheap. The world is full of them. Without the fruit of the spirit I have already joined the religion of the world regardless of my opinions on it or efforts against it. If this is not forgivable then I am doomed. |

RE: Can Christians be part of the One World Religion?
ALL RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! Just wanted to say that. Christians can be a part of the one world religion, but they shouldn't be. As said before, friendship with the world is enmity toward God. An unequal yoke and a house divided against itself cannot stand. Obey God by the power He gives you, and the world will hate you and try to kill you.
THAT'S A GUARANTEE: 2 Timothy 3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: IT IS HARD FOR THEE TO KICK AGAINST THE PRICKS. Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. |

That we are not of the world is the ideal. the obervable reality is the contrary. I have never seen believers shine light in darkness. I have seen correct words spoken with unctious or bullying arrogance. The world recognizes this and so blasphems the Name because of us. Perhaps we should be so full of abundant life that they hate and envy us for our joy and peace (as it was for envy that the Pharisees had Christ killed) but until then we are usually ignored or despised when we dare to stick out heads out of our thought ghetto and criticise them |
