Hey! Glad to see you jump into the forum!

We hope to see lots of you here! It's great to have some "former Messianic" perspective - especially for me having been there. I kinda like to compare notes a bit. I am curious about you story, though. Like what exactly did you practice that made you think you were a Messianic?

Hi, I have some limited contact with the Messianic Movement.
Hopefully it will help some Jewish people to feel less restricted
by some of the Christian symbols, etc. What I would do, is research
it carefully online. There are disagreements within the Messianic
movement on doctrinal issues (as there are in most groups) and
some are charismatic and some not. I try to learn from the Bible
and recognize that there are often elements in any group that
aren't actually biblical.

From what I have observed, read, and also in speaking to Jewish people, the symbols that Messianic Judaism uses offends the Jews. In other words, their use is definitely NOT user friendly when it come to the Jewish people. That is totally understandable, as the Jewish people view those symbols are their own and when MJ typically uses them to imitate Judaism, they feel as if they have been mocked and consider MJers as "wanna be dress up Jews"

You made an interesting statement, that elements in any group aren't actually Biblical. I wondered if you could show me anything in Messianic Judaism that is I am not trying to pick on you, I am truly interested as to what that might be

I don't know enough about it, and the movement itself
is varied...........2. I don't want to slam other believers
even if they may be wrong on things.
I would recommend anyone wanting to learn about Messianic
Judaism to google it and try to research it throroughly.
I have recently read criticisms and problems with the movement
but I don't think I could give an unbiased evaluation.
Personally I am cautious about anything or movement or
church or group and especially so where elements from the
O.T.are emphasized.............I personally am not comfortable
with it. I personally believe you are a Christian by faith alone
in Christ's perfect work...........whether or not you are a
Jew or Gentile, we are one in Christ, and the emphasis is on
Him and His Word rather than on our background. I am not
personally involved in it although I am of Jewish background
(by culture and birth not by religion..........my religious
background was very limited).

As far as Jewish people being offended by it, that is true
but on the other hand I think that depends on the person,
and it is possible some Jewish people have been helped? I
don't know.

I don't believe that any Jewish person has been helped by Messianic Judaism because it detracts from Jesus Christ, it does not bring Jewish people to Him. Having spent the last 8 years not only completely practicing it [for 2 yrs], but having much contact with Jewish people, the MJ movement, in it's entirety, is another gospel. The gospel is not Jewish [which is the foundation of MJ], for there is no Jew or Gentile in Christ.

From what Jewish people in all types of religious affiliation, as well as secular have shown me - they find that the MJ movement is an offense to them. I have never heard one Jewish person say otherwise. The reason for this is that MJ proclaims that Jesus is the Messiah and Judaism denies that. So the religious practices that MJ does to imitate Judaism is seen as a pretense, a mockery, not reality.

Jewish people come to Christ through one-on-one contact and witnessing, not through a movement that is intended to REPLACE the Jews - which is MJ's true agenda.

It was a strange web site that I was invited to called "Sighted Moon." I did a Google search on Bob Wadsworth who writes on this site and found you. I am so happy I did because you believe like I do! Praise The Lord! I am active on Facebook and you would not believe all of the strange doctrine these days. Many are deceived! I am truly saddened and shocked by what is being shared by false teachers. I stay on Facebook because I do have a few friends who are "rightly dividing the Word Of God." I share information to direct people to the truth! Hugs

Bob Wadsworth has nothing to do with this website and anything you found on him here was research concerning him and his associates, Michael Rood and Bruce Brill and others. He along with Rood are former Way International members. He was also shown to be a false prophet with his date setting while touring with the Prophecy Club. This is likely some of the info you read:

Thanks for reply. No I certainly don't want anything to do with that ministry. I discerned quickly that he was a false teacher but I am shocked that this so called Christian friend suggested I go to this site. I can't believe that my Facebook friend is involved with it at all. It simply amazes me that people would not know that it is a cult of some sort. I had done a Google search because I knew it was some sort of cult and I found your site which exposed it. I have studied with Moody Bible Institute for over 30 years and I am truly a believer in Jesus.
