Thanks to all for the warm reception.

Our walk with God is one of faith and not sight. Our flesh does not like that. When we are born-again, our spiritual eyesight is not that sharp. Just like a little baby we sense the love of our Father but at such an early age we hardly know Him. We know that He loves us unconditionally and so our spiritual journey begins with the "Love of God being shed abroad in our hearts". Our journey should continue and finally end with and in the love of God. Wisdom and Knowledge we do not have. Zealous without knowledge is pretty much our experience early on. The older I get in the Lord, the more I realize how little I know and how great and wonderful He is. Keep running the race, looking unto Him, knowing that He loves you and is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. Smiley-happy093

There is no real true knowledge that is not connected to the Love of God. Our course in life should not be regulated by just knowledge but love towards God and consequently love towards man. This love is more valuable then mere intellectual attainments. Do you know what the secret ingredient is that makes the Word of God come alive? Humility and Love. Humility and Love couple with God's Word is a much safer guide than the Intellect and God's Word. I want the approbation of God?
I want Him to KNOW ME and He will know me if I love.

1Co 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

I look forward to getting to know y'all more.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

So much to share, so little time. Bless you all, in Jesus.

Rick

Greetings to all
Although a first posting on the forum, I have been visiting this website for years, eagerly waiting on new material to be added to the site. I have found many of the articles very helpful in my journey.

A christian of 30+ years, biblically divorced (per many interpretations), I have been on a journey (hence the name Pilgrim...and often on a path less traveled). Starting in very strict oneness pentecostal churches (making most pentecostal and fundamentalist churches look decidedly liberal in comparison), to non-denominational to HR / messianic to....looking. It has often been a lonely journey, definitely not the popular one. Moving occasionally (job related) has also left its mark.

Recently several threads have been posted that resonate, and has prompted me to sign up. I have found often that my personal research has simply left me confused at a different level, with other questions!

Am also an engineer....so, we think in strange paths naturally....

Hi Pilgrim! 15384

From one gray hair to another - it's great to have you here! Smiley-greet013

I can relate to your journey. Although I was raised in a very traditional Calvinistic denomination until my mid 40s, I then embraced the whole pentecostal/charismatic/word of faith movement - which I call charis. Dragging along some of that baggage I went whole hog [not kosher 8823] into the Messianic movement. I understand your search for the truth Sign0169

After several years of all that, and dumping all of the religious stuff and doctrines that I had accumulated for over 50 years - after much soul searching, the grace of God, constant study of His Word, and two friends who stuck with me through it all, I discovered that God is not really about religion or denominations or systems of belief [doctrines, traditions, practices]. The freedom that is in the simplicity of Christ is exhilarating and awesome! 47b20s0

I encourage you to keep studying the Word! And of course we would love to chat, discuss, encourage your walk and help with any questions and comments. We take a tough stand for Biblical truth, measuring all to the Word of God 638

ps: Before you actually click on "post reply", you might want to go to "preview" first as it will be easier to edit. There is an automatic ban-bot that activates when some newbs try to edit their posts - so don't freak out! You can hit preview as many times as you want until you have finished all editing and then click on post reply - that should help! If you do get banned, don't panic - we try to keep an eye out and sic that bad boy ban-bot away Snapoutofit

Welcomewave Pilgrim,

So glad you decided to join our diverse group. We probably have members or past members from all the groups you have been involved with. 553

I am glad you have found the website of help and now the forum. I know I am way behind in posting articles-I would never have thought there would be such a lull between postings. Th_smiley_work But, all in God's timing. The forum definitely has much to offer in the way of information also.

You have had quite a journey, and it is clear God is not done leading you into His Truth, in His Word. Loneliness is something many feel when things are messed up spiritually. I hope that we can help you find rest in Christ and the knowledge of His Word and you will be edified, challenged and encouraged to stand fast in Christ. Friend

We all need to anchored in Christ and the Word. Make yourself at home. 8816

Post, ask questions and discuss what is on your heart.
