Strange Religious Art
This is the weirdest depiction of "Christ's baptism" I've seen in a while.
![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Baptis...bridge.jpg I posted it in this sub-forum because it appears to have a flying saucer in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_saucer

RE: Strange Religious Art
That was really strange
![]() However; I did a little surfing on this "phenomenon" and discovered that it's not really an UFO, but more than likely artistic "license". I found an interesting article on it as many artists over the centuries have depicted strange features, faces, characters, and symbols in their paintings to make them different, appealing, unique, and to start a trend. http://sprezzatura.it/Arte/Arte_UFO_eng.htm |

I've seen some similar art of (goddess) Mary, with and without the (pagan) divine child, with what appears to be UFOs in the backdrops. The "UFO" in one of the paintings on that page turns out to be the cardinal's hat of St Jerome. Much religious art, like Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights, resembles particularly awful hallucinations. The creepiness/scariness of some "Christian" art may be another reason God told humans not to make pictures of Him. HOSTIS HVMANI GENERIS ![]() VISUALIZE WORLD WAR |

It started out with the golden calf before their trip out Egypt had hardly begun. Aaron told Israel that the golden calf was God. |

RE: Strange Religious Art
Not so strange if we look at this art with some knowledge of the conventions of the time. It was Dan Brown's complete ignorance of the conventions of renaissance art that gave him the da vinci code; after all at that time they all protrayed John as a young boy of delicate looks, and so it was not a woman, so not the wife of Jesus Christ.
another example of complete ignorance misreading renaissance art is Francis Shaeffer's eisegesis of Michelangelo's David. the enlarged hands were not an exaltation of human merit, but necessary according to the laws of perspective if the hands were to be seen in a statue (ie not vanish) designed to be seen from below in a large outdoor space. Shaeffers misreading of art is atrocious, and where he speaks on music, my speciality as i trained as a classical orchetral musician, i am offended even more Now if the painting you were showing us were painted after 1945 I would have agreed it was a flying saucer. I am no expert in the conventions of artistic symbology in any given period of time, i only know that they exist and that they make a difference in interpreting these art works. as to what the disc shape represents i do not know |

RE: Strange Religious Art
That is the "Ancient Astronaut" theory for Evilution.
It is believed by some that the great deception will involved demons posing as Aliens come to save us. And portraying JEsus as an elightened alien is part of the deception. Google about Matreiya. It has been going on since the Roswell scam. Most occultists are very aware of this and teach about in in many of their books. |
