Hi Ken, I watched Don Carson present what the coalition is supposed to be in his video. Started for and by about 50 plus pastors so they could make the meaning of the gospel the center of all they do.

I believe Christ is supposed to be the why and the inspiration and direction for all we do. It appears to be as you say, the ecumenical and merging for those from all beliefs--supposedly evangelical, but we already know, there is contemplative, spiritual exercises, and mysticism and occult within.

If one looks at the list of contributing current and historical authors, we see even those practicing kabbalah promoted. http://thegospelcoalition.org/resources/...s/a#ByName That does not mean that there are not those speaking sound doctrine at times. But at what price, when we are called to speak sound doctrine and reprove or correct false doctrine and not allow the preaching of another gospel and another Jesus, which is being done within the group. It carries the names of those who are part of the ecumenical movement and the Evangelicals and Catholics together etc.

Just another mess from my perspective. I can't help but wonder how many groups have to be formed where compromise abounds, and it still is not the unity of the Spirit presented in Scripture. THey can't mix the occult with Christ and say we are one in the Spirit.
