Oral Roberts dies
Remember the televangelist who said he had a vision of a 900-foot Jesus (which today just sounds like a really cheesy church "decoration" - http://www.missionandshrine.org/great_cross.htm )? He said on his show that unless he raised $8 million by March of that year, "God would call him (Roberts) home," meaning that he would die. According to the Wikipedia article, he was a faith healer, at least for a while. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_Roberts

He was a major player in the Word of Faith movement and the "spiritual father" of many charis leaders such as Kenneth Copeland and Kenneth Hagin, Sr. He believed in divine healing and that he could live free of sickness and could choose when to die. I wonder how divine healing is working for him now? He died of pneumonia. Same with Hagin who also believed that he would just walk over to his chair and "give up the ghost" when the Holy Spirit told him to. He died after several days in the hospital with heart problems - in a coma.
