RE: The fearful going to hell?
Lois, very well said. I also have to agree that it can take a long time to have God change and heal us from the effects of 'faulty' parenting and relationships, especially when trust is broken. It took me some time to figure out that God's love is entirely different than what I had been exposed to growing up. My hubby actually was instrumental in teaching me about love in a family relationship. I remember at times, when I thought of God the image of my dad and all the issues there, would pop into my mind and I knew God had to be different than that. THankfully, God in His incredible love and mercy, showed me the difference of His love and our capacity to love, and healed me in understanding and the effects of broken trust. Truly, when we allow Christ to work through us, and love others through us, we do learn that God is far above what we can ever imagine on our own and certainly far above what we can know or understand on our own. Vic SeekGod.ca 3John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |
