RE: Ephesian Church Left Their First Love for What or Whom?
Just read the exchanges of posts of the Ephesian Church leaving her FirstLove and desire to reread it at another time for further understanding. That the Apostles of Christ, Twelve and Paul, were set apart quite beyond others making like claims, yet the notion that apostles or prophets in other degrees do not exist of the Holy Spirit's work in the church I regard as error and defective. Paul, in his second letter to Corinth refers to Titus as a partner and fellowhelper, and to others as apostles or messengers of the churches. Christ's Apostles and church apostles are all of one and the same Spirit. I concede that missionaries is a fine distinction for modern apostles or angels. I do not reject terms unless they subvert and supplant truth. Its true too many make too many foolish and unscriptural claims based on bad interpretations and often plain ignorance. Anyway the thread is worth further consideration.
2Co 8:23 Whether [any do enquire] of Titus, [he is] my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren [be enquired of, they are] the messengers of the churches, [and] the glory of Christ. |
