Perverted Christianity: How Do YOU
Score-Topics
Holistic therapy:
includes yoga, aromatherapy, reflexology, massage, stress
management and iridology, Reiki...
YOGA:
Yoga originated over 5,000 years ago in
India and was originally practiced by Hindu Ascetics. All yoga
exercises are for the explicit purpose of awakening the
chakras.
"Asanas
are done to have an impact on the physical body stimulating
organs and nerve centers. Meditation and breathing techniques
influence the flow of prana (life energy). When the mind and
body are in harmony you are then able to focus on spiritual
goals...Not only does it calm and center you,.... [ 1 ] "Hatha Yoga teaches you techniques that are
related to the physical control of the body. Rythmic breathing
methods called Pranayama and postures known as Asanas are
used. The word Hatha consists of two polar opposites. Ha means
sun, Tha means moon. Ha is masculine, Tha is feminine. Hatha
Yoga is the most popular form of Yoga." [2]
'Kundalini is a Sanskrit term
that means coil or spiral energy that is aroused through use
of Yoga. This energy may channeled through the chakras.
Kundalini is often associated with the Goddess Kali. It is
sometimes shown as a coiled serpent. " This also
leads into Aura colors. [3]
From The Varieties of
Religious Experience, p. 307-308 by William James
"...training in
mystical insight has been known from time immemorial under the
name of yoga. Yoga means the experimental union of the
individual with the divine. It is based on persevering
exercise; and the diet, posture, breathing, intellectual
concentration and moral discipline vary slightly in the
different systems which teach it. The yogi, or disciple, who
has by these means overcome the obscurations of his lower
nature sufficiently, enter into the condition termed samadhi,
"comes face to face with facts which no instinct or
reason can ever know." He learns ---
"That the mind itself
has a higher state of existence, beyond reason, a
superconscious state, and that when the mind gets to that
higher state, then his knowledge beyond reasoning comes. ..
All the different steps in yoga are intended to bring us
scientifically to the superconscious state or samadhi....Just
as unconscious work is beneath the consciousness, and which,
also, is not accompanied with the feeling of egoism....There
is not feeling of I , and yet the mind works, desireless, free
from restlessness, objectness, bodiless. Then the Truth shines
in its full effulgence, and we know ourselves---for Samadhi
lies in potential in us all----for what we truly are, free,
immortal, omnipotent, loosed from the finite, and its
contrasts of good and evil altogether, and identical with the
Atman of the Universal Soul." 20
....When a man comes out of
Samadhi, they assure us that he remains "enlightened, a
sage, a prophet, a saint, his whole character changed, his
life changed, illumined." 21
....The Buddhists use the
word 'samadhi' as well the Hindus....
Footnotes: 20. ..quotations
taken from Vivekananda, Raja Yoga...
21. ....comparing the
results of Yoga with those of the hypnotic or dreamy states
artificially producible by us, says: "It makes of its'
true disciples good, healthy, and happy men....Through the
mastery which the yogi attains over his thoughts and his body,
he grows into a 'character." By the subjection of his
impulses and propensities to his will, and the fixing of the
latter upon the ideal of goodness, he becomes a 'personality'
hard to influence by others, and thus almost the opposite of
what we usually imagine a 'medium' so-called, or 'psychic
subject' to be...." See also Yoga
Swami Vishnu [4]
Incense
- "Incense
is a substance which produces a sweet aroma when burned. The
Chinese use it during most festivals and burn it in honour of
the gods and in memory of deceased family members and, for
good luck." [ 5]
Aromatherapy
- from an advertisement for aromatherapy "...aromatherapists,
practitioners of alternative medicine, and anyone wishing to
use aromatherapy to maintain a peaceful equilibrium or bring
about positive change, this book concentrates on the
mood-changing effects of natural oils. "A good addition
to alternative medicine collections."--[6 ]
"Aromatherapy may be
traced back over centuries. In ancient Egypt herbal oils were
used to embalm the dead. It was the Arab physician Avicenna
who developed the distillation method we use today. It was
then brought to Europe by the Knights Templar..." [7]
"Aromatherapy is the
use of essential oils for therapeutic 8
effects. Essential oils have been revered for their fragrance
and their restorative effects on the body, mind 9,
and spirit for thousands of years." [10]
"Ancient Healing Art
creates balanced blends
to promote 11:
- calmness
- emotional and hormonal
balance
- stress relief
- rejuvenation, and more. [12]
Many Christians are taking
and applying the oils used in aromatherapy as a form of
Biblical anointing. They use it when someone is ill, declaring
that the Bible condones this. Yes, we read of many instances
where oils and perfumes were used. There's nothing wrong with
them per se. Many women are doing the preparation of
particular oils and anointing the sick, in direct Biblical
disobedience. The anointing that was to be done was only for
illness under certain circumstances. A cure is never
guaranteed, based on what God's will is for a person's life,
and it was not the oil that had the healing effect. James
5:14-15
Is any sick among you? let
him call for the elders of the church; and let them
pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the
Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they
shall be forgiven him.
Dowsing
and Aromatherapy:
"Dowsing is an age old means of tapping the
unconscious or intuitive nature of our beings. It is
used to answer questions. ... The instrument used for
dowsing is called a pendulum. A pendulum is usually
some type of small object hung on a cord....A
pendulum that points towards the bottom is most effective.
The pendulum
swings of its own force, with no motion from your hand, when
you ask a question (either out loud or mentally).
It will swing in one direction for yes and a different
direction for no. ...Determine the direction of a yes
response and a no response before using the pendulum.
To do this you can ask "what is the direction for
yes"; then ask "what is the direction for no".
Another way is to ask a question that you know is true or
false. For example - you can ask "Is my name
Kelly"?; then ask "Is my name (and use your
name)"? The swing of a pendulum for a yes / no answer may
vary from one person to another and from one pendulum to
another.
Once you know
the direction that your pendulum swings, you are ready to use
dowsing for inner guidance. Be
sure to phrase your questions for a yes or a no answer. At
times the swing may have greater speed. This may be understood
as a more "insistent" answer to your question. [13]
Many pregnant women have
inadvertently used dowsing to determine whether they are
carrying a boy or girl. When I was 19, I was told about this
practice by an older "Christian" woman, who
advocated it's use. It sickens my heart to understand how easy
it is to be pulled into the occult.
Colossians 2:7 Rooted and
built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been
taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Negative
Ions/Ionizers
~ " Researchers believe that through control of the
electrical charges in the air we breathe, our moods, energy
level and health can be markedly improved! ....Balancing
the ionization in your home may help to combat the ill
feelings associated with our stressful lifestyles. The worlds
most tranquil and refreshing regions are loaded with billions
of negative ions. Air near waterfalls, mountains, beaches and
forests are among those places where ionization levels are in
complete and natural balance." [ 14]
Clean air is definitely an
issue that needs to be addressed carefully. Many Christians
are purchasing 'serenity ponds', mood candles, wind chimes,
nature music, etc, to "calm themselves". These are
used by the occult to alter mood and connect with their
concept of inner peace. If you want to have a wind chime
because you like the sound, by all means. Just don't do it for
the wrong reason.
Our peace and way of dealing
with 'stresses' is to rest in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 5:22 "But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,
Phil 4:7 "And the peace
of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Voyeurism~
dictionary
definition "one who finds sexual gratification in
observing nude bodies or sexual acts of others." Many
watch television shows and read books that are enjoyable to
them and which they approve of--and which are filled with sex.
Biblically we can add
the definition of voyeurism to include watching and enjoying
sinful practices, which one would most likely as a
Christian not physically enter into. We would include
fornication, adultery, robbery, murder, lying, cons, foolish
jesting, filthiness, drunkenness/partying, revelry, idol
worship, covetousness, law breakers and so on.
Matthew 5:28 "But
I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with her already in his
heart."
Romans 1:32 "Who
knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such
things are worthy of death, not only do the same, .but have
pleasure in them that do them."
Romans 8:13 "For if ye
live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."
Ephesians 5:3-7 But
fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not
be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither
filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not
convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know,
that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who
is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ
and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for
because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the
children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with
them."
Disney/movies/books/paraphernalia
~ Many
Christians purchase or watch Disney Films, believing that the
Billion dollar business is "family friendly." It
never was Christian or Bible friendly. However since Michael
Eisner took over, obvious anti-family movies have been
marketed through Disney and Touchstone. Even the animated
films that are geared toward young children have come under
fire. And rightfully so. That and their policy for including
'gender friendly' attitudes --that is --pro-homosexual and
religiously tolerant. Few seem to realize that there was
plenty to object to in the Disney animated movies from the
50s, 60s, and 70s. Many Disney movies have involved
witchcraft, dragons, spells, fairies, wizardry, the concept
that there is good and bad magic, spiritism, Eastern
religions, 'the message of group think, ecological extremism
and so on. Some example include:
Sleeping Beauty -includes
the concept that there is good and bad witchcraft, wicked
fairy Maleficent and 3 good fairies. There are good and bad
spells, with the good magic conquering the bad magic so they
can live happily ever after. [Note -fairies are
considered nature spirits and are 'miniature humans who are
clever, mischievous and endowed with magic powers']
Cinderella - Fairy godmother
uses her magic to save Cinderella with spells and incantations
with the fairy saying Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo instead of Abra
Cadabra. The cat is called Lucifer.
Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs - a Magic Mirror which foretells the future and a
wicked Queen who casts spells --witchcraft-- and transforms [aka
body-shifting] herself into an ugly crone. Lying, deception
and murder--all part of the plot.
Fantasia -full of occult and
pagan images, witchcraft and wizardry. Sorcerers Apprentice
--Mickey Mouse uses magic and spells .Night on Bald Mountain
makes darkness and evil seem thrilling and romantic. There are
numerous visual references to Greek and Roman gods and
goddesses--something which is also part of public school
curriculum.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
--witchcraft
Pete's Dragon and The
Reluctant Dragon--making evil look warm and fuzzy.
Mulan---eastern religious
ideas and spiritism. Feminism is also strongly pushed as it is
in more recent of their films.
The Lion King-- has
reincarnation as one of its main themes and even includes a
character that is homosexual, according to some reviewers.
Pocahontas-they imply that
that aboriginal tribes that inhabited North America were
preferable to the European people who came to live here
The point is, while
The Disney Company is not at all family friendly they really
have never been. But they have had to become more extreme for
most people to even notice that there might be a problem. And
having noticed, there still aren't many who will refuse to do
business with them on principle
Galatians
5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Isaiah 5:20,21 "Woe
unto them that call evil good and good evil: that put forth
darkness for light, and light for darkness: and put bitter
for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent
in their own sight!"
Harry
Potter/Goosebumps
~ One merely has to
read the titles of various books, movies and cartoons to know
they are promoting the acceptance of witchcraft and all manner
of the occult.
In the Potter books, Harry
Potter is saved from death after his parents are murdered by
an "evil wizard." The concept is that there are good
and bad wizards and witches==meaning there is "good
evil." Harry survived the wizards attempt to kill him,
although he is left with a lightning-shaped scar on his
forehead, which is the sign of Satan. Many children get this
mark put on the forehead in appreciation and allegiance to the
books and Harry, a 'good wizard.' See: Kabbalah
Initiation and Practical
Kabbalah In the stories, Harry attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry, which curriculum features courses in
Transfiguration [changing forms], Herbology, divination,
spells and potions and "Defense Against the Dark
Arts." Students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry are involved in learning magic while they put
up with the "muggles". Muggles are the blinded and
biased humans who either don’t believe in the world of
witches or who despise it as evil. See analysis of Harry
Potter > Harry Potter Plus
Goosebumps and many
more books and cartoons are filled with demons, witchcraft and
all manner of the occult.
Does this sound like
edifying information for children--Christian or otherwise-- to
embrace? Satan wants the souls of children as well as adults.
As parents we are to "train up a child in the way they
should go." If you are buying or allowing the acceptance
of these teaching with your children, you have disobeyed God.
Galatians 5:19-21
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are
these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as
I have also told you in time past, that they which do such
things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
Deuteronomy 18:10
"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh
his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that
useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or
a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar
spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do
these things are an abomination unto the LORD:..."
Massage
~ "Certain
ancient Egyptian tomb paintings show people receiving massages
as well as ancient Indian and Chinese manuscripts. The ancient
Greeks and Romans also used massage. Massage has also been
incorporated into several other therapies. There are thousands
of receptors in the dermis which react to external stimuli.
Gentle massage may trigger the release of endorphins which
induce a feeling of well being. Stronger massage may ease
stiff joints and improve mobility. While massage is not a cure
it can lower the amount of stress hormones. Remedial massage
focuses on specific conditions such as muscle strain. Lymph
massage aims to speed the removal of waste products by
stimulating the lymphatic system. Biodynamic massage aims to
release emotions that have become trapped. Certain Eastern
massage includes acupressure." [15]
Massage in and of itself is
not wrong--but delving into the above occult usages and
reasons is.
Reiki
~ Reiki is a form of Japanese spiritual healing which has its
original form in ancient Tibetin Buddhism. The Reiki
practitioner draws on Reiki energy and sends it to areas of
need in the patient. Reiki practitioners claim that Reiki acts
at an atomic level causing the bodies molecules to vibrate and
thus dissolving energy blocks. The founder of Reiki was
Japanese theologian Dr. Mikao Usui who claims that Reiki came
to him in a vision. Reiki is a Japanese word derived from rei
(universal) and ki (life energy). It is believed that Usui
rediscovered and reinterpreted ancient healing practices of
Tibetin Buddhism...Reiki practitioners attune their physical
and spiritual bodies according to ancient and secret symbols
revealed to initiates over three stages. [16]
Iridology--used
by ancient Egyptian priests over 3000 years ago, from there
spreading out from Egypt to Babylon, Tibet, India, China and
other regions. (E. Velkhover) [17] Iridology (sometimes referred to as iris
diagnosis) is based on the bizarre belief that each area of
the body is represented by a corresponding area in the iris of
the eye (the colored area around the pupil). According to this
viewpoint, a person's state of health and disease can be
diagnosed from the color, texture, and location of various
pigment flecks in the eye. Iridology practitioners claim to
diagnose "imbalances" that can be treated with
vitamins, minerals, herbs, and similar products. Some also
claim that the eye markings can reveal a complete history of
past illnesses as well as previous treatment. .... [18]
From a former Iridologist :
"...my practice in alternative medicine was not limited
to simply iridology. I was certified in three forms of applied
kinesiology, was taught how to prescribe herbal therapies,
used homeopathy, suggested diet changes, and engaged in
emotional/spiritual counseling. I also took a strong stand
against drug prescriptions, most vaccinations, and most
elective surgeries. I firmly believed that medical doctors
were trained in how to destroy the body while I had learned
methods that really had benefit by building the body from the
inside. I personally felt, and taught, that the only benefit
of conventional medicine was found in severe emergencies, such
as trauma.
"... I believed that
illness was the result of poor communication and imbalance
between organ systems.... An iridology website states that
"iridology does not diagnose disease, it identifies
malfunctioning body systems which if left unchecked will lead
to various symptoms." 19 The beauty
of not having to provide a diagnosis from the eye is that the
practitioner simply uses the iris to create leading
questions.... Iridology fits into a category of disproved
alternative health care practices. These practices have no
basis in real anatomy and physiology and have failed well-done
trials and studies. Practices that fall into this category
include applied kinesiology, reflexology,
therapeutic touch, homeopathy, and the Hulda Clark cure
for all diseases (zapper, etc.)...There are other aspects of
alternative medicine that I cannot dismiss without more
comment. These may have some scientific support, but are
misused or over-used in alternative medicine. Some examples in
this category are herbs and supplements. I feel that herbs are
actually the same as pharmaceuticals and should be treated
with the same respect. I disagree with the motto "I use
herbs instead" because herbs act the same way inside the
body as their counterparts behind the prescription counter.
One of my biggest problems with so-called "natural
medicine" is that many practitioners advise herbs without
any training of any kind in the science of pharmacology...
Master herbalists suggest herbs based on historic use,
personal experience, patient reports of benefits, and some
sketchy information from clinical trials. Few herb studies
even exist to indicate interactions in the delicate systems of
the kidneys and liver. Despite these limitations herbalists,
iridologists, applied kinesiologists and others advise
patients on the use of multiple herbs though there is little
information in their libraries as to the effectiveness,
benefit, and safety of these substances.
"On top of this, these
poorly trained practitioners are confidently advising their
clients to take herbs along with the prescription medicine
suggested by their bona fide physicians....My own practice of
alternative medicine became very uncomfortable to me as I
learned how little I had actually been taught. I began
suggesting fewer and fewer supplements, trying to keep to
those that I knew were documented as safe..." [ 20]
[Note: this doctor was warning of the dangers of utilizing
herbs with medicines as well as noting that many medicines are
derived from herbs that are marketed as cures.]
Kinesiology
Applied kinesiology
claims to induce proper structural and chemical-nutritional
organization in the body, as well as "left-and-right-brain"21
hemisphere balance. It claims to evaluate and correct problems
of the nervous, circulatory, lymphatic, skeletal-musculature,
and "meridian" systems, thereby maintaining health.
Its practices are believed to permit the even flow of cosmic
energy throughout the body, thus nurturing individual organs
and systems with the proper supply of chi energy. 22
Another source concerning
Iridology: "...In a 1993 CNN interview Dr. Worrall, who
has continued to evaluate iridology, equated it with palm
reading. "Iridology cannot and does not work the way
iridologists claim it does. Christians who use documented
misrepresentations of eye physiology to explain how it
"works" are compromising themselves and their faith.
Explanations which deal in "vibrational energy" or
"energy" are by-passing the physical, material order
of creation for the explanations of an occult based anatomy,
physiology, and world view." ....
"Bernard Jensen, D.C.,
is the most visible proponent of iridology. His materials and
texts form the standard for this teaching in U.S. His world
view (i.e. philosophy of life, way of interpreting the
physical and spiritual) is New Age/Eastern/Occult. The
dedication in A New Lifestyle for Health and Happiness
and a page in Iridology: Science and Practice in the
Healing Arts Vol II read like a who's who in the
international occult: Eastern cults, New Age, New Thought,
psychics, channels, and spiritualistic healers. Representative
are Shafica Karagulla (New Age psychic M.D.), Sai Baba (Indian
cult figure), Ernest Holmes (founder of Religious Science [New
Thought movement]), Manly P. Hall (occult leader and
metaphysician), Corinne Heline (occult color healer and
originator of the term "new age"), A Course in
Miracles ("Jesus" being channeled), Mme. Helena
Blavatsky (the founder of Theosophy), The Aquarian
Conspiracy by New Age spokesperson Marilyn Ferguson, Harry
Edwards (a spiritualist healer), and a Mr. Chapman, who heals
psychically when he is taken over by a "Dr. Lang"
(4:Dedication). Jensen refers to the Rosicrucians as his
"spiritual abode" and advocates astrologic diagnosis
(9:170)...." 23
1 John 2:

I have not written unto
you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it,
and that no lie is of the truth.
