The Ecumenical

Toward Jerusalem Council II

1 John 2: 15-17

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The recounting of the History of the Toward Jerusalem Council II continues with their choice of executive and noting that the Messianic movement itself has often been splintered and in contention:

...A vision of Jewish-Gentile reconciliation within the one body of Messiah required that the committee be comprised equally of Messianic Jewish leaders and leaders from the Gentile Christian world. It was decided that there should be seven Jews and seven Gentiles. There would be two chairmen: one Jewish (Waldman), one Gentile (Dawson).

...Since the goal of the Jerusalem Council Two vision was to be the Gentile recognition and honoring of the Jewish expression of the church, the church of the circumcision, it was clear that this vision could not progress without the support of the Messianic Jewish movement around the world.

In the United States, there had been for some fifteen years a division and tension within the Messianic movement between the two major organizations, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA) and the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC). This division had been healed in 1994 with a public reconciliation of the leaders at the annual conferences of these two organizations...

The initial Messianic Jewish membership of the Steering Committee from the United States was five: Marty Waldman, Dan Juster and David Rudolph (Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations) and David Chernoff and Bob Cohen (Messianic Jewish Alliance of America). ...

The invited Roman Catholic priest and Episcopal priest who were  "historical" church representatives, caused the changing of the original name of the group for the following reasons:

...Both invitees from the historic churches could not in conscience
join an initiative calling itself “Jerusalem Council Two” and
considering itself capable of convening a Council of the whole
Church of Jesus Christ. Indeed, they felt that these assumptions
could undermine the whole vision, because to limit the Church to evangelicals and charismatics represents another manifestation of
replacement thinking (“we have replaced the older churches
because of their unbelief”).

....It was agreed that the title for the initiative would be changed from “Jerusalem Council Two” to “Toward Jerusalem Council Two”.

.... The basic vision was unchanged of a second council
of Jerusalem that would undo the Gentile rejection of the Jewish
church, and welcome the Jewish expression as an integral part of
the body of Messiah, indeed as the “elder brother” having the “first place” ...."

Jesus said in Mark 9:35 And He [Jesus] sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

In 1998, Johannes Fichtenbauer, a Catholic deacon, founder of an ecumenical charismatic community, "became a  member of the Steering Committee, with the full approval of his  Archbishop, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn."

From the article Evangelicals and Catholics Together:

"There are serious issues that cannot be ignored when looking to the Catholic Church. Mary Ann Collins, a former Catholic nun, writing about Catholic issues states:

"The Pope is called “Holy Father” and the Catholic Church is called “Holy Mother Church”.  According to “The Catholic Encyclopedia,” the idea of freedom of religion is wrong.  People are not supposed to use their own personal judgment to determine their religious beliefs.  (This article is online.)

According to Canon Law (the official laws governing  the Roman Catholic Church), Catholics are required to submit their minds and wills to any declaration concerning faith or morals which is made by the Pope or by a church council.  They are also required to avoid anything that disagrees with such declarations.  And they can be coerced if they don’t comply.  (You can read these laws online.) [Note 2]

The Catholic Church teaches that only the Magisterium of the Catholic Church (the Pope and the bishops in communion with him) has the right to interpret Scripture.  People like us are not allowed to interpret Scripture for ourselves.  We have to check it out with Church authorities.  (This is online.)  [Note 3]

Catholicism teaches that Catholics are supposed to “receive with docility” any directives given to them by Catholic Church authorities.  (This is online.) [Note 4]

Catholicism teaches that there is no salvation apart from the Catholic Church, its sacramental system, the priesthood, and the Pope

The Bible says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers”. (2 Corinthians 6:14)  By Biblical standards, the Catholic Church presents a Gospel that is badly distorted.  It is salvation by “Jesus plus”.  Jesus plus the Catholic Church.  Jesus plus the sacraments.  Jesus plus good works.  Jesus plus Catholic tradition.

This is contrary to Scripture.  The Apostle Paul said that requiring people to be circumcised nullifies the grace of God, with the result that people are not saved.  It is such a serious thing that “Christ is become of no effect unto you” and you “are fallen from grace”.  In other words, Jesus Christ no longer does you any good. (Galatians 5:1-4)

If just being required to add circumcision nullifies the grace of God, then what happens when you are required to add the sacraments and the Pope and Catholic tradition and good works and the Catholic magisterium?  [The “magisterium” is the official teaching authority of the Roman Catholic Church.]

Catholics have faith in the Catholic Church.  (Their faith in Jesus Christ is through the Catholic Church, rather than directly in Jesus Himself.)  Their rule of faith is the “Catechism of the Catholic Church” and other official Catholic documents.  This includes the Catholic Bible, as interpreted by the Catholic magisterium..."

To make this clear, union with the Catholic church does not mean union with the Body of Christ. See also: Testimony of a Former Cartholic Nun; Testimony of a Former Roman Catholic

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him
.

The Episcopal church is viewed by many to be liberal in theology. One of the more important connections is with the Temple of Understanding which is based in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the Episcopal "mother" church for the United States.

From the article Renovaré & The Christian Mystic:

“The Temple of Understanding collaborated with the Global Commission of Parliamentarian Leaders in 1985 and gave birth to the Global Forum.” 77

“…New Age organizations behind the Global Forum just happen to be the Temple of Understanding, which is closely tied to the United Nations and is housed at Madeleine L’ Engle’s church, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine…The Temple’s purpose…is to facilitate the one world religion, through the promoting both the acceptance and the embrace of all religions, beliefs and rituals.”  78

“According to the Temple of Understanding’s own literature, it is the world’s second oldest international interfaith organization, just behind the World Congress of Faith’s, founded in England in 1935…The Temple began through the efforts of …”Founding Friends,” including world leaders Eleanor Roosevelt, Albert Schweitzer, Thomas Merton, the Dalai Lama, U Thant, Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI…” 79

“The “Friends” assisted the founder, Juliet Hollister…in establishing a world interfaith center based in the U.S. Additional sponsors have included John D. Rockefeller II, Margaret Sanger… International Planned Parenthood…Bishop James A. Pike…the Society of Friends (Quakers), the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Unitarian Fellowship…” 80

“In October of 1988, the Temple of Understanding…held a “North America Assisi,” in Wichita, Kansas…Faith delegates represented Jains, American Indians, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Shintoism, Bahaism, Unitarian Universalism, Sikh and Zorastrianism. Some spanned more than one faith, such as John L. Jory, a Quaker…who is also a practicing Buddhist.”  81

The original plan for the design of the Temple was to have six wings or rather extensions shaped into a six–point star or hexagram, housing the six major religions of the world, those being: Christianity, Buddhism, Islamic, Hinduism, Confucian and Judaism.  Referring to the original 1960’s plan for the construction of the Temple, which was eventually located in L’Engle’s church, we read of their ultimate goal.

“The Temple of Understanding’s Meditation Room was to be known as the “Hall of Illumination, “ where the Illuminati, Masters of Wisdom, Our Leaders of the Temple of Understanding [will] train the public in the new humanistic cult.”…to create a “new type of mystic… ” 82

2 Corinthians 7:14-17

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Further developments showed that MJAA's David Chernoff unable to continue his role on the Steering Committee and he was replaced in 2002 by MJAA's Jonathan Bernis.

As the Committee evolved, the following was shared:

... the leadership in the committee was provided by the two chairmen, one Jewish (Marty Waldman) and one Gentile (John Dawson). After a time, it was felt that the structure ought to honor in some way the first place of the Jew. ..... The structural weaknesses would be remedied by the appointment of an Executive General Secretary, with authority to act between the committee meetings. The choice of Marty Waldman as Executive General Secretary would honor the first place of the Jew...

...When Marty Waldman accepted his appointment as Executive General Secretary, he also made available the necessary services of the office of Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas to carry out the administrative work for TJCII. ....

It was recognized that the Spiritual working group would have two
major responsibilities: (i) to encourage more prayer journeys as
appropriate for the expression of repentance for sins against the
Jewish expression of the church and (ii) to organize intercessory
prayer support for every aspect of the work of TJCII....

...It was then realized more clearly than at the beginning that the initial formulation of the vision was a Messianic Jewish formulation, accepted by the Gentile members of the committee. It was realized that what TJCII needed was not a revision of the original document, but a Gentile response to the Messianic Jewish vision, ...

The original document represented a “heart- cry for recognition and fellowship from our Messianic Jewish brethren” that required a Gentile response “to work for the realization of this vision of reconciliation in Christ”.

For those who have held hatred and resentment towards others, they need to go to God. But unless they have hated or had issue towards a particular person, to make a public show of confession towards a group of people, who they do not even know, is shallow and not of God.

Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.

Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

As a non-Jew who has done extensive research into the Messianic and Hebrew Roots movements, I have not seen a corporate "heart cry for recognition and fellowship" with myself or anyone else who claims to be a Christian believer. And that is knowing that the movement is comprised of Jews and non-Jews. Rather, allow me to clarify, there has been a "heart cry for recognition" for vain purposes by some, but not specifically for fellowship with Christians, or brothers and sisters in the Lord who do not call themselves Messianic.

I've written about and dealt with people from across the spectrum. Many that this writer has come across, reject the "church", the term Christian, Christ, and view 'Christians' as a whole, as pagan, ungodly, misled or similar and are not desiring to even be tainted by the term "Christian," which merely means to be a follower of Jesus Christ--in English.  Being "Gentile" is bad enough according to some, but calling oneself Christian to boot...that takes one to a level far below acceptable, for many. I say this with deep sadness. What many seem to forget, is that while the term Christian can and does include many that do not belong to Jesus Christ, just as the term Messianic does, there are also individuals of the Body of Christ, by that name. When they are despised, Christ is also despised. Consider the implications.

There are many lovely people within the Messianic movement, people I'm thrilled to call a brother or sister in the Lord, but the leaven of some is destroying all because of failure to deal with these issues in a Biblically obedient manner.

1 Corinthians 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

The Council's statements below, must be evaluated on what is currently happening within the Messianic and Hebrew Roots communities as a whole.

...The sectarian tendency to reject all other expressions of faith in Jesus Christ as deviant or defective was itself a fruit of the  replacement/ rejectionist thinking that had refused any Jewish expression in the early centuries. The acceptance of the rightness and the necessity of Jewish and Gentile expressions of faith within the one body excludes all sectarianism.

This is truly one instance of the Scripture in Matthew 7, needing to be applied:

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Have all these people totally ignored the Scriptures on these issues?

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, [Jesus Christ]
from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

It should be noted that MJAA leadership have wrongly taught and advocated that the Messianic Jews are the HEAD of the Body of Christ. At Messiah'99 Rick Joyner and Robert Cohen presented the following:

"....In a joint presentation to Messiah '99, MJAA President Rabbi Robert Cohen and Rick Joyner of MorningStar Ministries laid out a prophetic vision for the Messianic Jewish Movement. Highlights of the Prophecies given by Rick Joyner and Rabbi Cohen are as follows:

  • The 1970s, when Jerusalem returned to Jewish hands, was the end of the Gentile Age.
  • The 1990s are moving on the spirit of revival that began with the Jesus Movement, which was the source of the Messianic movement.
  • The Messianic people are a prophetic righteous remnant, "that are calling the Church back to their Jewish roots" and "they are back to become a prophetic call to the nation of Israel."
  • Messianic people are, "THE HEAD," meaning, of the Body of Christ and the First Fruits.
  • Whole communities will come to Y’eshua because of their witness.
  • Jews and Gentiles will be looking to the Messianics to explain the Word of God.
  • Joyner expressed a concern that Messianics: ". . .would not be corrupted by too many relationships with the Church" and that they are not supposed to be like the Church nor the Church like them as that would, "mess everything up."
  • Racism is one of the ultimate enemies.
  • There is a revolution going on in the Church.
  • Reconciliation happens when there is restitution, and there’s going to be a lot of restitution for the Messianic people as Jews.
  • Messianic people will have a better ability to witness, heal, discern and utilize spiritual gifts than others.
  • Messianics are going to help us (the Church) restore our foundations to where they belong -- and we won’t get where we’re supposed to be without their help.

Might this writer ask by what authority or Scripture the Messianic movement and it's members removes Jesus Christ as the Head of the Body, and replaces Him, with themselves?

If Colossians 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God." states that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body; and

Ephesians 1:20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

And:

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

And:

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

And:

Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

And

1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

What heretical thinking is it that allows a person or group to take the role that belongs only to Jesus Christ?

If each that believe this were to look Jesus Christ, or Yeshua, fully in the face, can they clearly say to Him, who is God manifest in the flesh.

"You are not the Head of the Body of Christ. I AM."

If each that believe this could possibly provide the Scripture....

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Hosea 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Isaiah 2:11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. 6. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

See The Double Minded Man

If Believer's of the Lord Jesus Christ have faced any type of persecution, put downs, hatreds, lack of consideration, mistreatment and so on, is there some Scripture that says that is not supposed to happen? And if it does happen, what is our response to be?

Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

See Persecution Free Christianity

The Historical recounting also adds the following very Biblically unsound statements.

"....every Christian tradition carries a distinctive witness of
the Holy Spirit that is needed for the fullness and the final
completion of the one body of Christ. This witness of the Holy
Spirit can only find its true place in the framework that
acknowledges the first place of the elder brother.
"

The Apostle Paul must have overlooked this or not known about the "elder brother" syndrome, even though he was of Jewish heritage, when he said very clearly:

Romans 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

I Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

Galatians 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

He also put his heritage, his prior religious beliefs as a Pharisee, in perspective, and in relation to living for Jesus Christ.

Philippians 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

He also put into perspective the issue of what it means to be a servant of Jesus Christ, whose heartfelt goal was to share Christ so lost souls would be redeemed. His focus was always and was foremost for the selfless edification of the brethren.

1 Corinthians 9:18 "What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you."

Romans 15:2 "Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me."

Romans 13:14 "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."

The Apostle Paul strongly admonished the Galatians with these words:

Galatians 1:6 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

In their online Newsletters, we read of the TJCII various activities and furtherance of this initiative. Noteworthy is the July 2003 report on "The North American Consultation for TJC II met in Dallas, Texas on May 12-13, 2003, hosted by Baruch Ha Shem Messianic Synagogue."

Toward Jerusalem Council II

July 2003

The North American Consultation for TJC II met in Dallas, Texas on May 12-13, 2003,...

"...Jewish members and Native Americans honored and blessed each other. Bob Cohen symbolically gave a set of ancient maps to Lynda Prince, Carrier Grand Chief, and Marty Waldman presented a shofar to the Native Americans and closed this time with the Aaronic benediction...

...key North American leaders took part, including Mike Bickle [false prophet/manifest sons of God/ latter rain], Jill Austin, Bob Weiner [CNP's Robert T. Weiner], Raleigh Washington, Jim Goll, Jack Hayford, and David and Kathleen Moss of the Association of Hebrew Catholics. Kim Kollins attended from Germany. All of these leaders spoke encouragingly and prophetically in support of the vision....

Quotations from Dallas" ...

Peter Hocken [Roman Catholic priest]- We have been in rebellion against God’s design for unity. He challenges our ideas of unity. His design is not unity by outward conformity...

...Jack Hayford – This initiative is neither self-fulfilling nor humanly manageable. It depends on faith and intercessory prayer.

Dan Juster – Reconciliation is always a supernatural work of the Spirit.

Jonathan Bernis – There has been dual blindness. The Jewish people have been blinded to the Messiah. The Gentile church has been blinded to the place of Israel and her part in the one new man and to the end-time return of Messiah....

From the May 2002 document, which compiles various information:

May 2003 > "...

On October 20, 2001, the TJC II executive committee convened in Vienna, Austria, the home of Johannes and Christy Fichtenbauer....

Peter Hocken gave a brief history of replacement theology, the devastating results for the church, the need for true identification and repentance, and a caution against accusation of another group as people begin to uncover sin.

Later in the day, Dan Juster shared on the Messianic Movement....
