Chinese Medicine Plus

Reflexology ~ Relexology is a holistic therapy which dispensers believe the feet and hands are a mirror of the body and that by placing pressure on specific reflex points of the feet it will affect the corresponding points of the body.

"The ancient healing art of reflexology has been known to man for many thousands of years. It was first practiced by the early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian peoples..." [1]

"The body has the ability to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of "imbalance", and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing." [2]

The Chinese Art of Healing, written by a Buddhist monk , explains "how the ancients relate massage, which includes reflexology, to the Five Elements and to palmistry....the palm of the hand was a replica of Yin and Yang and could provide information about illness and good health and one's entire fate."  The Five Elements are metal, wood, fire, water and earth. "According to the ancient Chinese philosophers, in the beginning was Tao. But then Tao separated into...yin and yang...[which] produced the 'five elements'... " 3

Chinese Medicine ~ Taoist philosophy and spiritual practices including chi gung, t'ai chi, meditation, internal alchemy, Taoism, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine, massage, Chinese herbology

"....These days Chinese Herbalism is referred to as Traditional Chinese Medicine. [TCM] In China it is a recognized course at university. The three most important principles of TCM are Yin and Yang, Holism and the Five Elements. TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine, views the body holistically. It is seen as a integrated whole. Problems in the one area, affect the others. Running through the body is a network of channels carrying "qi", life energy. In TCM when the Yin and Yang in the body is disturbed, disease or emotional problems occur. This can be further defined as, interior (yin), exterior (yang), deficiency (yin), excess (yang), cold (yin) and hot (yang). TCM also includes the concept of the Five Elements, earth, fire, wood, metal and water. The concept of the Five Elements applies to all things including the bodies internal organs. Chinese herbs are used to balance these forces. Chinese herbs are classified under the Five Elements according to taste. The opposing Yin/Yang qualities of hot and cold are linked with actions of specific herbs. Chinese herbs work on specific organs and meridians with tendencies of action, Floating and Sinking, Ascending and Descending. In TCM herbs are usually taken as a formula of 10 to 15 herbs. Each herb will have a different role..." 4

Acupressure ~ Acupressure is very often described as "acupuncture without the needles" Acupressure also predates acupuncture and is part of traditional Chinese medicine and is based on the theory of "QI". Qi is often referred to as "life energy" and it is what flows channels in the body known as meridians. Finger and thumb pressure is applied to certain acupoints which is used in relieving certain ailments and promoting health and harmony. It is widely practiced in China but still finding its way in the western world. A number of acupuncturists also use acupressure. In China the most common form of acupressure is called "tuina". In Japan the most common form is "anma". Acupressure is a system of massage that promotes the life energy to circulate. The same principles of stimulating points on the meridians are the same whether needles or fingers are used. Another system of acupressure is called "shen tao" which is possibly the oldest form. The Japanese version of acupressure "anma" has developed into what is now called shiatsu. 5

Acupuncture ~ "...Practitioners of acupuncture insert fine, sterile needles into specific points of the body as a treatment for various disorders. .... The use of acupuncture in anesthesia is mainly confined to China. Acupuncture is in fact an element within the traditional Chinese medicine health system...The site of the needle depends on the disorder and whether the flow of "qi" [life energy] is to be warmed, reduced or increased. Up to several acupoints may be used. ...For some conditions the practitioner burns the herb Moxa creating heat to stimulate the acupoints. Glass cups may also be placed over acupoints in order to draw "qi" and blood toward them. 6

T'AI CHI 7~ " The Chinese system of physiotherapy, or therapeutic exercises, is represented primarily in the practice of T'ai Chi Ch'uan. which is a system of exercises performed in close coordination with regulated breathing. The exercises are comprised of thirty-seven movement patterns, the composition of which is regulated by the principles of yin and yang."  "The philosophy of T'ai Chi Ch'uan is rooted in Taoism, which advocates natural effort, and in the I Ching, or Book of Changes. The movements and inner teachings are derived from the complementary relationships between Yin and Yang, two fundamental forces that create and harmonize the Universe by their interaction. The Interaction of Yin and Yang is vital to the practice of T'ai Chi Ch'aun..."   "In fact, t'ai chi came to be "represented by the circles divided into light and dark, yang and yin." Other interrelated techniques dependent upon yin/yang are zone therapy, polarity therapy, macrobiotics, Shiatsu, Jin-Shin, Do-in, the martial arts (such as Kung FU, Chi Kung, Karate, T'ai Chi), etc." 8   See Also: "Christian" Occult Symbols ~ Part 1, Part 2: Hexagrams & Doves, Part 3: The Legend of Hanukkah

TAE- BO  9~ started by Billy Blanks 10, "I created Tae-Bo for the "spirit, mind and body". Blanks is, "A seventh degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, the dominant Korean form of karate, Billy holds black belts in five other forms of martial arts. A seven time world karate champion, he captained the U.S. Karate team and .... has been in the Karate Hall of Fame since 1982."

Tae-Bo is a combination of "Tae Kwon Do, boxing and dance disciplines executed to hip-hop music." The Tae-Bo symbol is yin and yang.

Tae Kwon Do 11- From the TAEKWONDO Bible "..."Taekwondo" is the name of the inherent martial art that has been succeeded to Koreans from the oldest time on....the philosophical principles of Taekwondo is so profound and infinite as such. the philosophical principles included in Taekwondo include all of essence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and are equivalent to conceptions of the oriental traditional philosophy. And you can agree to that they can be applied to another kinds of martial arts and even to dances, too." It also sports the yin and yang symbol.

Karate ~ part of yin and yang. "The word karate is a combination of two Japanese characters: kara, meaning empty, and te, meaning hand; thus, karate means "empty hand." Adding the suffix "-do" (pronounced "doe"), meaning "way," i.e., karate-do, implies karate as a total way of life that goes well beyond the self-defense applications. In traditional karate-do, we always keep in mind that the true opponent is oneself. 12

"...Karate history can be traced back some 1400 years, to Daruma, founder of Zen Buddhism in Western India. Daruma is said to have introduced Buddhism into China, incorporating spiritual and physical teaching methods that were so demanding that many of his disciples would drop in exhaustion. In order to give them greater strength and endurance, he developed a more progressive training system, which he recorded in a book, Ekkin-Kyo,....The physical training, heavily imbued with Daruma's philosophical principles, was taught in the Shaolin Temple in the year 500 A.D. Shaolin (Shorin) kung-fu, from northern China, was characterized by very colorful, rapid, and dynamic movements; the Shokei school of southern China was known for more powerful and sober techniques. These two kinds of styles found their way to Okinawa, and had their influence on Okinawa's own original fighting method, called Okinawa-te (Okinawan hand) or simply te....These two origins explain the double character of Karate--extremely violent and efficient but at the same time a strict and austere discipline and philosophy with a nonviolent emphasis..." [13]

Biblical Discernment Ministries has an excellent write-up on 'Christian Karate' and the fallacy about it being a witnessing tool. 14

Zen Buddhism ~"...Historically, Zen Buddhism originates in the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama. Around 500 B.C. he was a prince in what is now India. At the age of 29, deeply troubled by the suffering he saw around him, he renounced his privileged life to seek understanding. After 6 years of struggling as an ascetic he finally achieved Enlightenment at age 35. After this he was known as the Buddha (meaning roughly "one who is awake"). In a nutshell, he realized that everything is subject to change and that suffering and discontentment are the result of attachment to circumstances and things which, by their nature, are impermanent. By ridding oneself of these attachments, including attachment to the false notion of self or "I", one can be free of suffering."

"The teachings of the Buddha have, to this day, been passed down from teacher to student. Around 475 A.D. one of these teachers, Bodhidharma, traveled from India to China and introduced the teachings of the Buddha there. In China Buddhism mingled with Taoism. The result of this mingling was the Ch'an School of Buddhism. Around 1200 A.D. Ch'an Buddhism spread from China to Japan where it is called (at least in translation) Zen Buddhism." [ 15]

Feng Shui ~ Feng Shui means "the way of wind and water" and is the 4,500 years old Chinese art of placement. Feng Shui is the practice of how to arrange your home, garden and business to achieve harmony, balance, success and wealth. [16]

""Fung Shui", translated as, the influences of wind and water, is the Chinese science of "reading" nature in order to ward off evil spirits and bad luck. By the twelfth century, fung shui played an important role in all aspects of Chinese life, from birth till death. A compass with a magnetic centre and seasonal markings is used by an accomplished fung shui artist to choose the site of a person's new home or burial place. This is done to avoid offending demons, invisible ones of course, who inhabit the earth. Offending nature will cause great ills to fall upon you and your descendants, according to Chinese belief. Now, this practice is most popularly applied to graves. If a grave is placed in the wrong area or facing in the wrong direction, ill fortune will follow the family members of the deceased. A fung shui specialist is often called to a building site to assure the builder of the correct direction of the structure..." [17]

"...Although Feng Shui is Chinese, ... has links to many other cultures, such as Native American, Japanese, and Indian. Feng Shui is about bringing balance to life - a balance between extremes...Feng Shui deals with energy, the energy in an environment....

"There are three basic principles in Feng Shui which form the basis of its philosophy: Everything is alive....The second principle is that everything is connected. We are connected to everybody and everything in the physical world....The third principle is that everything is changing, all the time.....So these are the basic principles of Feng Shui. You can work with them to empower your life. By balancing and harmonizing the Chi (life force energy), you are working with the energetic health of the building, which has a direct impact on you. ... Enhancing the energy of your home has a direct impact on your own energy and life...." [18]

Homeopathy ~ Homeopathy is based on a system of "like cures". Basically it means that a poison [which] causes illness in a healthy person can treat the same in someone who is ill. A substance is greatly reduced to make a remedy safe to use to stimulate the body's self healing properties. Treatment works according to three basic laws of cure. (A) That symptoms move down from the top of the body, (B) Move outwards from the inside of the body, (C) Move from, the most important organs to the least important. The more a remedy was diluted the more specific the effect seemed to be. The symptoms of illness are seen by the Homeopath as a sign that the body is using its own natural self healing abilities to fight back. Homeopathic treatment seeks to stimulate this self healing process.  Practitioners may be classical or complex homeopaths. The practitioner will ask about medical history, lifestyle, diet, moods, likes and dislikes. The practitioner draws up a symptom picture to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses. Your symptom picture is matched with those in the homeopathic repertories which includes over 2,000 remedies. The real skill lies in prescribing your remedy. [19]

Chiropractic Manipulation ~ founded by D.D. Palmer--an occultist. Two schools of thought developed--one that looked at and included Palmer's theology, the other merely the medical manipulations. It is physical adjustments to correct subluxations or "misalignments" of the spine. Many find physical adjustments to be very beneficial and more helpful than 'regular' medicine.

Rick Miesel wrote: "How Does it Claim to Work?:  Spinal misalignments allegedly impinge or cause pressure upon spinal nerves, interfering with the flow of nerve impulses to the rest of the body and producing susceptibility to disease. By correcting subluxations (spinal misalignments), proper performance of the nervous system is restored, thereby maintaining health.

Scientific Evaluation:  Some physical manipulation employed by chiropractors may be both safe and beneficial. General massage for tension headaches and rational, conservative spinal manipulation therapy for some neuromusculoskeletal disorders is medically justifiable. However, the fundamental chiropractic theory of subluxations causing disease is false: subluxations have never been proven to even exist, let alone to function in the manner claimed.

Occultic Potential:  May lead to occultic practices or beliefs or other new age health treatments in that these are often employed by chiropractors. [20]

Meditation ~ Meditation is a mental discipline that induces a state of total relaxation and inner harmony [and an altered state of consciousness]. Various techniques all involve focusing the mind on an object or activity. In Eastern societies it is used as a means of spiritual enlightenment. In Western societies it tends to be used as a means of dealing with stress...Meditation is a state of heightened mental awareness. Meditation is ... in the worlds major religions including Judaism, Islam and Buddhism. Meditation was mainly introduced to the West through Indian Yoga practices which were brought to England in the 19th century...Meditation involves withdrawing from external reality and achieving deep relaxation. [21]

MANTRA MEDITATION : A word or a phrase that is continually repeated. It may be repeated aloud or in silence. It may be a positive statement or relate to personal beliefs. [Note: Wilkinson's 'Prayer of Jabez' falls in this category, although it is once daily]

ROSARIES : Rosary beads may be used in the meditation process to count repetitions.

TIBETAN PRAYER WHEEL : Each rotation of this cylinder will stand for one recitation of a mantra.

OM : A  sacred mantra widely used in meditation, particularly with yoga [Note: Om signifies the Hindu pagan trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.]

BREATH AWARENESS : Focus your attention on your breathing. You think of a peaceful word with each outward breath. [22] [Note: Bill Bright and many others endorse spiritual breathing]

Repetitive Incantations = MANTRA MEDITATION : A word or a phrase that is continually repeated. It may be repeated aloud or in silence. It may be a positive statement or relate to personal beliefs. This is being used in Latter rain/ charismatic/ evangelical/ pentecostal/messianic and other worship services--choruses composed of a few words or lines are being sung over and over. This practice produces a state of altered consciousness.

Channeling ~ Channeling is an occult term for mediumism or spirit-possession, in this case, employing spirit guides  23 in new age medicine. Channeling occurs when someone permits a spirit entity to possess him or her for new age healing purposes. The spirits may perform psychic diagnosis or healing through a healer, or they may speak through the person's vocal chords in order to give spiritual, medical, and other teaching. Automatic writing and inner voice dictation are other forms of spirit communication by channeling.

"How Does it Claim to Work?:  By meditation, visualization 24, hypnosis 25, altered states of consciousness, and other methods, the spirits are able to enter, possess, and control a person, much in the same manner a puppeteer controls a puppet. People claim that by permitting spirits to possess and speak through them, mankind can attain a wealth of spiritual and other wisdom directly from spirits who have "passed on" or are highly evolved. The spirits claim they can assist people's health concerns and direct them toward true individual and social enlightenment. [26]

Tongues/slaying in the spirit/faith healing ~ "Hands on healing is often referred to as "laying on of hands". The use of this type of healing can be traced back thousands of years and is probably the oldest form of natural healing there is. The laying on of hands was well used during the time of the Essenes. Priests in ancient Egypt were recorded as having used this method. These days many of the Christian churches use hands on healing. In some cases the hands are placed on a person or in other cases held at a distance. Some healers claim their healing power comes from God while others say it comes from their spirit guides. Some even claim it is their own energy...[27]

"Quakerism is marked with trances, shaking (like convulsions), glossolalia [unknown utterances], and visions, comparable to mystics of the occult. These manifestations and behaviors sound not unlike what is recorded about Toronto Blessing and Brownsville or Pensacola. It was Maria Woodworth-Etter (1844-1924) who introduced the “Holiness Movement” to being “Slain in the Spirit.” She had been nicknamed the ‘trance evangelist” and adherents would fall backwards often accompanied with a trance-like state, facial and body contortions, trembling or laughter and so on, no different than the results of the ‘faith-healing’ of hypnotist Franz Anton Mesmer and what is seen in Charismatic circles today. We also see the same reference to the “living energy or force” and shaking found with Evan Roberts, the leader of the Welsh Revival, which ran from 1904-1905." [See: The 'god' in Every Man ]

Hypnosis/ Hypnotherapy ~ "Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used healing trances [channeling] and the tribes in Africa and the Americas used dancing and drumming for hypnotic effect. Modern hypnotherapy emerged from the work of 18th century Austrian doctor Franz Mesmer. In 1943 Scottish surgeon James Braid explained hypnotherapy in scientific terms. Then in the 1890,s a school of hypnotism was founded in France. In his early work Sigmund Freud used hypnosis. The most modern form of hypnosis which is used today was founded by Milton Erikson. Practitioners of hypnotism believe that the mind has different levels of consciousness. While under hypnosis the rational part of the mind is bypassed. This means the subconscious part is receptive to hypnosis...." [28]

Magnetic Therapy ~ "...Practitioners use devices such as magnetic wrist bands and beds to treat illness....The use of magnets can be traced to ancient Greeks, Egyptian and Chinese doctors...Modern magnetic therapy can be traced to Viennese physician Franz Anton Mesmer. Magnetic therapy is also known as magnetotherapy or biomagnetic therapy. According to magnetic therapy practitioners iron atoms in the red corpuscles of the blood respond to magnetism. When a magnet is placed on the patients body blood flow through the area is enhanced. This is claimed to improve the supply of oxygen to cells, stimulate the metabolism and help in the elimination of waste products. A large variety of products such as straps, mattresses, shoe insoles, pillows and car seat covers are available. Super magnets are supposed to emit a higher magnetic force and should be placed on specific parts of the body often over lymph nodes or acupuncture points. There are also devices that emit pulsating fields at specific frequencies aimed at certain areas of body tissue." [29]

Davidic worship/dancing/ ~ found connected to Latter Rain/Manifest Sons of God,  and Charismatic Theology. It is also being incorporated into Messianic worship as demonstrated in the Messiah '99 conference pamphlets. [See: Messiah] and on Messianic websites such as [ 30] Rejoicing before God is not wrong, but many times these things are not about God, but are about the flesh. Secular dancing revolves around ungodly music/lyrics and the flesh. Dancing with another person invariably puts the focus on self or the other person, music, etc, taking the focus off of God. Many seem to have this focus as a priority rather than seeking sound doctrine from Biblical study.

Old Testament/Mosaic laws about what one can and cannot eat ~ we are no longer under the law or traditions of men.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1 Timothy 4:3-4  "Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Fables/Fairy tales ~ See: Have Nothing to Do With Fables and Old Wives Tales

Astrology/ Horoscopes ~ See: Astrology: The Gospel of Truth

Tattooing/Christian Tattooing/Piercing ~ See: Part 2: Taking the Mark

Crystals~ Occultists believe crystals possess a life force influence that can be tapped into for healing. Many Christians use crystals as sun-catchers or collect crystal figurines and other decorations.

Birthstones ~ "Birthstones were created during the Classical Period by the Romans , with each holding an astrological significance. In astrology, there are 12 signs of the zodiac each showing specific signs of weaknesses and/or strengths. A specific gem, possessing the necessary properties was assigned to each zodiac time frame in order to strengthen weaknesses and build on strengths supposedly possessed by persons born in that month or period of the zodiac....shamans, witch doctors and medicine men utilized gems, believing them to have mystical powers. Certain stones were always used for protection against supposed mental and physical evils..." 31

From the Jewelers of America: "The Modern Birthstone list contains the official birthstone list from the American National Association of Jewelers, Jewelers of America.32 These gemstones were officially adopted in 1912. In the US, this is the accepted list. The Traditional Birthstone list contains older birthstones and is sometimes combined with the modern birthstone list. These stones reflect societal birthstone traditions, heralding back to the 15th century. (Many jewelers have differing lists of traditional birthstones.) The Mystical Birthstone list is of Tibetan origin from over a thousand years ago. The Ayurvedic Birthstone list is from Ayurvedic Indian Medicine - a type of medicine used for over a thousand years."

"Stones listed in the "other" column were correlated by Dave Thompson and others participating on the usenet newsgroup rec.crafts.jewelry as alternative birthstones for each month. The Curious Lore of Precious Stones 33 ... has a ... list of birthstones from different cultures. ... Also see Gemstone Therapy 34 for more detailed information on the mystical properties of certain stones."  [35] Gemstone therapy aligns with crystal use.

"The Star Sign stone chart... offers another slant on birthstones/planetary relationships. Clicking on each star stone link provides specific gemstone pictures/products, care instructions, mystical properties, and lots more."  [36]

Charm Bracelets/Amulets, etc. ~a charm is from a charmer who is also called an enchanter or magician. The word amulet came from articles which had occult power or a metal disc with kabbalistic signs for protection against evil. Many Christians sport clover leaf charms for 'luck', cross charms, nativities--including Jesus--- as a charm. Consider the heretical implications.

Dream Catchers ~the shamanism of DreamCatchers, which is based upon the Masonic point within a circle, is found in the  Legend of the DreamCatcher 37which tells the history of this talisman to ward off bad dreams. "...The web is a perfect circle with a hole in the center. Use the web to help your people reach their goals, making good use of their ideas, dreams and visions. If you believe in the great spirit, the web will catch your good ideas and the bad ones will go through the hole." The elder passed on his vision to the people and now many Indian people hang a dream catcher above their bed to sift their dreams and visions. The good is captured in the web of life and carried with the people, but the evil in their dreams drops through the hole in the center of the web and is no longer a part of their lives. It's said that the dream catcher holds the destiny of the future...."

Angels/angelology ~ used in pins, other jewelry, sun-catchers, ornaments, pictures, prayers, and so on. Some claim interaction with a person who provides a kindness makes that person or animal their angel. Some cite the verse: Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." The keys words 'entertained angels unawares' and the concept is that we are to help those in need--particularly those we don't know. We won't know or recognize that the person is an angel. Hence it is false doctrine to claim anything is an angel, simply because they blessed us in some way.

In Judaism the occult teachings of the Kabbala (Cabala) includes angelology. Islamic angels were developed in Sufi mysticism. In Christianity, the worship and misuse of knowledge of angels is found within the Apocrypha, Gnostic Traditions and Hermetic tradition which is associated with alchemy. Alchemists tend to invoke both angels and demons--which we know is the same thing since they cannot control the things of God.

Many are praying to angels and focusing on their intervention in their lives, rather than Christ's. Many use pins and other angel forms on their person or in their home/place of work as a form of protection against evil. Many Christians have embraced this practice. See: Part IV... The Talmud and Demonology; Part IX... Practical Kabbalah: Talismans & Masters of the Name

Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

An excellent article comparing angels, their role, and demons and their role is discussed at Angelology 38, by Pastor Gary E. Gilley. Spiritual Warfare and Neil T.  Anderson's teachings including 'Christian' demon possession is also discussed.

Chain Letters ~ Chain letters are first and foremost illegal. Chain letters are letters which promise a phenomenal return on a small effort. The simplest form of a chain letter contains a list of x people. You are supposed to send something to the top person on the list. Then you remove the top person on the list, sliding the second person into the top position, add yourself in the bottom position, make y copies of the letter, and mail them to your friends. The promise is that you will eventually receive y**x somethings in return. [39] Chain letters are directly linked to pyramid schemes. Christians have succumbed to this by inviting returns for books, friends, blessings, "good luck" and so on. Some are also involved in the above type of chain letters.

Multi-level marketing schemes also are filled with the same scenario as chain letters with a small percentage at the top making money, and which many have become a part of --including Amway adherents. A review of websites by those who have left, for example, Amway, reveals that many view it as having a corporate cult-like theology. 40 MLM  and it's various articles. Those involved in promoting these MLM schemes to Christians also appear to endorse the prosperity gospel--meaning Christians have a Biblical "right" to be wealthy.

We are reminded in 1 Timothy 6:10-12 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."

1 Peter 5: 8-9

" Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."

Psychology-- is a religion based on man's wisdom which can be traced back to Aristotle and is what Paul referenced when he said in1 Corinthians 1:22 "For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom."

1Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

1Corinthians 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

See: Good Fruit From Evil Trees: Part I ~"...two of the main contributors to Psychology, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Sigmund Freud is known as the father of Psychology. Many view his developments of psychoanalysis, personalities and counseling as landmark events. His heroes were Gustav Fechner, who founded the science of psychology and Charles Darwin. "Before Darwin, man was set apart from the rest of the animal kingdom by virtue of having a soul. The evolutionary doctrine made man a part of nature, an animal among animals," (A Primer of Freudian Psychology, pg. 11, Calvin S. Hall) Freud embraced his teachings.

Freud was a materialist who believed that life and death were simply parts of the evolutionary process. "With the continuing evolution of the world, new forms of energy created disturbances that were no longer lasting so that the span of life increased. Eventually living things acquired the power to reproduce themselves. At that point in evolution the creation of life became independent of external stimulation..." (A Primer of Freudian Psychology, pg. 58, Calvin S. Hall). He didn't believe that life came from God, nor that all mankind are sinners, but rather tried to offer solutions to life and society away from "superstition". Freud believed everything in our lives comes as a result of repressed sexual desires--the cure for this repression would be to remove the repression--let man do whatever he really wants and everything will be okay....Carl Jung, though partners with Freud for a time, was in many ways a contrast to Freud. Freud hated Christians and religion, while Jung was deeply involved in the occult. He went through what he described as a deification process, whereby he believed he became a god through an initiation in "the Land of the Dead". (Aion: Researches in the Phenomology of Self, 1951) Most of his psychological ideas came after his "deification" and inspiration came from his 'spirit guide', Philemon. He was involved in astrology, automatic writing, casting horoscopes, divination methods and other occult practices. Jung believed that psychoanalysis was a way to achieve both personal and cultural renewal and rebirth. He believed that we could become one with god by finding the god within

1 Timothy 6:20-21  "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen."

Color coding/Seasons/personality analysis ~psychology and horoscope based analysis concerning your personality. Personality traits are profiled into four main types/seasons which are to provide the direction on how to become a "charactered" individual regardless of what personality you are born with.

Personality profilers tend to teach that your personality is what you are born with at birth and that it doesn't change. Your character is made up of the traits that you add to, or take away from during the course of your lifetime. This is false teaching. The boxing in of the four main personality traits/seasons/colors becomes a form of divination.

There is one constant and that is all are sinners and ALL have the ability to succumb to the same sins, regardless of race, background or culture. On the other side, regardless of what we are saved out of, we are all to be conformed to the image of Christ and show the same traits..

Romans  8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Philemon 1:6 "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus."

Galatians 5:22-25 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

"....Rapid Eye Technology is a revolutionary, healing technology and spiritual process that relieves individuals of distorted beliefs and disturbing emotions that are housed and stuck in the neural pathways of the brain. These emotions and belief systems interfere with the natural process of moving forward with life. The technology has been developed from the already occurring, natural and safe Rapid Eye Movement {REM} sleep process we experience each night. Rapid Eye Technology uses eye movement simulating rapid eye movement of sleep, with an eye-catching device moving in neural-linguistic patterns in front of the person's eyes. As the person blinks, old and dysfunctional information stored in the body is accessed and released. Rapid Eye Technology has had much success for people with addictions, abuse and programming issues. Through accessing and releasing stored cell memory, a person's pattern is changed. Rapid Eye is an exciting way to get "unstuck" from the debris of old programs and return to a state of clarity where one is released into light and love. The person is then free to enjoy the peace that was meant to be.

"....BODY MASSAGE is offered to those who need to discover how deep and to what extent we hold tensions in our bodies. Though the massage work, people can release the tension and feel more relaxed. THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE is a session in which both the massage technician and one of the psychotherapists work with the client. It is offered to those who want and need to find out the meaning of the messages in the points of pressure and/or pain the body is communicating...

"INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS  We believe the core of the individual's work here at the Center is their own inner exploration of the wounds 42 of their ancient history. In addition to talking about the individual's history which we need to know in order to understand the wounds, we use a process here in which we assist the individual to access and dialog with their cut off, wounded parts and help in the healing 43 of these wounds.

Note: These practices--also known as regression therapy--- are also found with authors such as Neil T. Anderson and his Freedom in Christ ministries and through his books such as Bondage Breaker. See: Wrestling With Dark Angels, and EJECT

"Another important part of the individual work is doing breath 44 work during the individual sessions. Also integrated into sessions when it is called for is expressive 45 work such as drawing, painting and psycho-drama."

"SPIRITUAL DIRECTION We consider all of the work that we do here at the Center as spiritual in nature. In the context of ‘Original Sin', which all Christian denominations hold in their own way, our task is understood to help the individual face that original wounding and move to heal it. We further understand that to be a life long process. What we do here at the Center is to help the individual into an awareness of what those wounds are and how to be able to move out of operating out of those wounds. That certainly is spiritual by definition.

However, there are different forms of spiritual direction practiced here which is a matter of emphasis rather than of substance. One form of spiritual direction would have an emphasis on the psychological dynamics of what is happening in the inner world and moving to heal those wounds using psychological tools.

The second emphasis is a spiritual and religious understanding of what is going on within the inner world. We talk about how that effects prayer, using Scripture in understanding and addressing those inner processes. The language used is in the traditional, ‘spiritual' mode...."[46]

Repressed memory ~ falls in with regression therapy and psychology.  "The same techniques that are used to uncover alien abduction experiences are used to uncover traumatic memories in child abuse cases. The human mind apparently has a tremendous ability to "fill in the gaps", "add details" and even construct entire memory scenarios starting with almost nothing....Learn online about false memory syndrome, repressed memories, and the harm done by psychologists in family child abuse cases at SNTP False Memory Syndrome Page. 47" [48]

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-24  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
