Avi ben Mordechai of Millennium 7000

Due to many requests regarding information about kabbalist Avi ben Mordechai, aka, Bradley Marcus of Millennium 7000, Millennium 7000 Communications or M7000 communications, M7000.com, www.millennium7000.com, and Torah Talk, the following information was compiled.

Avi ben Mordechai was a "friend of the court" for James Trimm and his International Nazarene Beit Din and is also a member of the Union Of Two House Messianic Congregations. He was also noted for being a student of James Trimm, according to his own statements. His writings are posted by Marshall Koniuchowsky also known as Moshe Koniuchowsky.  Avi ben Mordechai's Torah Talk also involves his association with Brian Samtur who is Cantor for Koniuchowsky's YATI, and who also produces the music for false prophet Michael Rood's videos, etc.

Note: Since posting the various articles, the name of Union of Two House Messianic Congregations has been changed to : Union Of Nazarene Yisraelite Congregations, as of  October 26, 2003

In fact Moshe Koniuchowsky has recently advertised Avi in his Your Arm's to Israel Newsletter, as well as being a speaker at his various Hodu's in the past.

Subject: AVI BEN MORDECHAI AND THE BOOK OF GALATIANS

Date: 7/21/2003

"Avi Ben Mordechai from the House of Judah (Jewish Believer), renowned author of Messiah; Volumes 1-3, accomplished conference speaker from Millennium 7000 Ministries, and member of the Union Of Two House Messianic Congregations,...

...Avi Ben Mordechai has become "burdened to share", after having received new and direct understanding from YHWH Himself...He has the answers we all desperately need to clear up the confusion on the seemingly confusing BOOK OF GALATIANS..."

Avi ben Mordechai [stated]...."Moshe, it is soooooooo amazing to me (honestly) how Galatians has remained a “closed book” for centuries. Our people (even in our own times) have tried to unlock its meanings, but unless one inserts the key to that room, it simply remains locked. The key is in accepting the teachings of the two houses of Israel. THAT’S IT!!..."

This writer sincerely wishes that Avi ben Mordechai didn't claim to be "burdened to share." Burdened to share seems to mean to many, 'buy my tapes' or books. If Galatians and other Biblical truths have remained closed to readers for centuries, it has not been closed to those who know Jesus Christ/Yeshua. The Apostle Peter stated, via inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before,
beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

...JUNE 30 2002-JULY 3RD 2002

...Minister Eddie Chumney Author of the 7 Feasts of The Messiah and Restoring The 2 Houses of Israel will be speaking at this year's Union of Two House Messianic Congregations Conference on the Restoration of the True Name to the Reunified 2 Houses of Yisrael, From an Orthodox Jewish Perspective....

...Avi ben Mordechai from Millennium 7000 Ministries--Author of Messiah Vols. One to Three. Avi is a recognized authority on the 4 levels of Hebraic Scriptural Insight [*meaning kabbalah]

Other speakers included: RABBI Moshe Yospeh Koniuchowsky; RABBI Ed Nydle; RABBI Rob Miller; REBBETZIN Wendy McNulty, RABBI Tom Mitchell, etc.

It should be noted that according to one inside source, Eddie Chumney and Koniuchowsky have had a falling out. Wendy McNulty has recently moved to Israel and denied the Deity of Yeshua. That is becoming an increasing problem for those who have 'embraced' the kabbalistic/Hebrew roots teachings of many this writer has written about. The 'fruit' is becoming more and more evident.

According to his Personal Testimony, found in the book Messiah, Bradley was "born again" in 1974, and by 1993, he rejected Christianity to return to "the tenants of Judaism." His teachings are based on the belief that the Scriptures have been tampered with by non-Jews, and full meaning must be found by the Jewish sages. The ones he references, from the Talmud, Mishnah, Midrash and Zohar, etc, all reject Jesus Christ as Messiah.

Avi teaches the kabbalistic doctrine of the sages, including that of the meaning of the virgin birth, including stating that Mary's womb represents the "physical Kingdom of Malchut." pg 518. His use of material and authors that reject the divinity of Christ, or reject Him as the awaited Messiah is duly noted. It should be understood that there are actually no "Oral Traditions" about the New Testament.

Some notable quotes from Avi ben Mordechai's book, Messiah Volume 3:

"Was Y'shua "G-d" as most understand the term today? No.  Was He the visible Image of the mystical Sefirotic Tree, also called Elohim?  Yes." (pg. 566, Messiah Volume 3)

And:

"The man Y'shua was the earthly garment of the Heavenly Torah and its decorative stories, narratives, teachings, and explanations of sublime mysteries.  The earthly Garment of Heaven--Y'shua ben Yosef, a magnificent piece of clothing was the outward expression of the Soul of Tiferet, the mystical "Son of Yah."  In the same way that one would never bow down to worship or elevate a piece of clothing, so we are forbidden to give that kind of homage to the man Y'shua." (pg. 566, Messiah Volume 3)

Also:

"As you would not pray to a piece of clothing, so you do not pray to the man Y'shua." (pg. 567, Messiah Volume 3)

And regarding the virgin birth:

"Was the entire "Virgin Birth" narrative a marginal notation by one or more Greek scribes? Honestly, I do not know." (pg. 514, Messiah Volume 3)

And:

"If Yosef was not involved in Miryam's pregnancy, then how would this understanding fit into the Hebraic narrative of Luke 1:35 and Mattityahu 1:20? Of course, Miryam was a woman. Similarly, the Tanakh identifies the upper and lower Ruach HaKodesh as being of feminine gender. So, is it not a bit strange that a "mother" above impregnates a mother below? This thought is reflected in the words of the Gospel of Philip, said to have been written in Syria in the second half of the third century CE:

Some said, "Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit." they are in error. They do not know what they are saying. When did a woman ever conceive by a woman?"

"Mystical Judaism may have an answer to this. Ruach HaKodesh means "Spirit of the Holy [One]." Although Ruach is feminine, Kodesh (the Holy One) is masculine and identified as HaMashiach (Cf. Yeshyahu 12:6, Acts 3:14). The Son (Tiferet in the Sefirotic Tree) is the product of the "Mother" and "Father" sides of Elohim. The Son, also called the Word and the Middle Pillar, "ties the knot" with Malchut--the Kingdom, which is categorized as a feminine attribute of the Sefirotic Tree. In other words, the Son (Tiferet) enters into a mystical marriage with Malchut, which is called by various terms of endearment, such as: Lower Mother, Shechinah, Beloved Israel, the Kingdom of Heaven, the Virgin Bride, Jerusalem Above, and the Daughter of My People."

"In essence, the virgin birth story of Y'shu is not just a narrative about a woman who gets pregnant by the Holy Spirit. That is far too narrow in scope. Rather, the virgin birth story could more likely represent a mystical marriage between Tiferet and Malchut, a union that produces a first-born Son of Elohim Who is planted in the womb of the physical Kingdom of Malchut, which is represented by the woman Miryam." (pg. 517-518, Messiah Volume 3)

On Transmigration of Souls:

"The reason that he denied it was because he was not Eliyahu. He was Yochanan ben Zecharyah--Yochanan, the son of Zecharyah and Elisheva. Nevertheless, the Soul (Ruach) of Eliyahu was "riding along" with Him like a passenger rides along in a vehicle driven by someone else. Now, I realize that this sounds incredibly bizarre and to some, it may sound like I am teaching reincarnation, but, I assure you, I am not. Rather, what I am alluding to is an old Hebraic concept called Gilgul (transmigration of souls)--a "recycling" of certain souls based on the Will of HaShem. This idea was not the invention of R. Yitzchak Luria, the "Ari" and "father" of Hasidic Kabbalah, who taught on the subjects of the Tzelem and Gilgul. The concept was in fact taught by Y'shua as you can see in the case of Yochanan the Immerser and Y'shua's talmid (disciple) Yochanan, who called the Gardener (Adam), Y'shua. In the same way that the Soul (Spirit) of Eliyahu was riding with Yochanan so also the Soul (Spirit) of Mashiach was riding with the First Adam who was disobedient and with the Second Adam who was obedient. Keep in mind, however, that it was NOT Mashiach who sinned in the First Adam. This was a choice that Adam Himself made." (pg. 507, Messiah Volume 3)

Avi was written about quite extensively in the To Embrace Hebrew Roots series, particularly in the Literal Kabbalah: Gematria and Numerology section, where he thinks it's "fun" to change the Word of God.

Some have questioned whether Avi actually did say it was "fun" while changing the word of God, although this writer was quoting extensively from his writing in that article. Here is his original article:

Understanding the New Testament in light of the Torah

       by Avi ben Mordechai

Proverbs 6:23 records the following words: "For the commandment is a lamp,  and the teaching is light."

IN the same book, Proverbs, we read this from  29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish, But happy is he who  keeps the law." In Deuteronomy 32:46"Take to your heart all the words with  which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe  carefully, even all the words of this law."

In these three passages, the English word translated law is the Hebrew word  Torah (Tow-Rah) which literally means teaching. In other words, the Torah is  G-d's teaching. In the Hebrew of Deuteronomy 32:46, the phrase, "words of  this law" is "Divra HaTorah." This is really wonderful and inspiring because  now we have  a true biblical definition for the term Torah. It is simply,  "The Words" or in its more conversationally Hebrew form, "The Word."

        Torah Is light

Also, in Proverbs 6:23, another important biblical definition surfaces with  the phrase, "For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching is light." In  the Hebrew, the word translated teaching is Torah and therefore Torah is  defined as light. With these definitions, let us look at Psalm 119:105, a  passage you are  probably familiar with, "Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and  a light to my path." To King David, who wrote  Psalm 119:105, the Torah was  considered a lamp and a light.

Now, we are going to have some fun! Let us go to the Brit Chadashah (New  Testament) and to the words of the Messiah, who was a Jew and understood the  significance of His usage of the word "light." In Yochanan (John) 12:46 we  read, "I have come as light into the world, that everyone who believes in Me  may not remain in darkness. "In Yochanan 12:35-36, we read, "...For a little  while longer the light is among you. Walk while you have the light, that  darkness may not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know  where he goes. While you have the light, believe in the light, in order that  you may become sons of light." In Yochanan 9:5, "While I am in the world, I  am the light of the world."

Now go back over each of these verses and where you see the term light read  it as Torah. And remember  what Torah is? It is the The Word! So, with this  biblical definition, we are not just going to have some fun.

We are going to  have BIG FUN!

Let us go back to Deuteronomy, which is called in Hebrew, Dvarim or Words  and turn to Chapter 18, verse 18. G-d is speaking to Moshe about the Torah  and says prophetically, "I will raise up a prophet from among their  countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall  speak to them all that I command him.

" Now go forward to the Brit Chadashah  (now you know why G-d gave you fingers!) And to the words of Yshua  who said  in Yochanan 14:24, "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the  word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father' who sent Me."

In Yochanan 1:14 it was written concerning the Messiah, "and the Word became  flesh, and dwelt among us; and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only  begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." In this passage we learn  that Yshua, the light and the Torah of the Mosaic Covenant, is also G-d's  grace and truth.

This is where we progress beyond BIG FUN! We are going into  the realm of excitement beyond words!

We are going to biblically define grace and truth.

        Torah is truth

In Psalm 119:42 we read, "Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,  and Thy law is truth." In this passage the term "law" is the Hebrew word  Torah. So, Kind David is simply saying, Thy Torah (or Word) is Truth. Does  this sound familiar? In the garden of prayer of Yshua, yochanan 17:17, He  says, "Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth."  Oy Vey! Did you hear  that?!!! Yshua is praying to the Father, saying on behalf His talmidin  (disciples) and 2,000 years later, that The Torah sanctifies us, sets us  apart and makes us holy!

And then in Psalms 119:64 King David says of G-d  His Torah, "The earth is full of His lovingkindness, O Lord; teach us Thy  statutes." In the Hebrew, this is astounding! The word translated  lovingkindness or in some translations mercy is the Hebrew "Chesed" which  means "grace" in English. And notice, King David links G-d's grace with His  statutes which is from the Hebrew root word Choq, one of five specific  descriptions of the commandments of Torah! And you thought grace and law  were two different concepts? Not on your life – grace  and law are the same!

Now, let us return back to chanan 1:14, "And the Word became flesh, and  dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, glory as the only begotten from the  Father, full of grace and truth." If I was doing the translating it would  say something like this, "And the Torah of Moses, the Sinatic Law of G-d  became flesh and tabernacled among us and we beheld His glory, glory as of  the unique one from the Father, full of grace (chesed) and the teaching of  G-d's Torah.

I know for many this news is shocking. Right about now you ought to be  having a spiritual seizure trying to reconcile the words of Paul to the  Galatians, Romans, Ephesians, Colossians, etc. Well, I can't tackle those words today, but they make perfect sense in light of the culture in which  they were written. I will be dealing with these and other issues in future  columns in CCN and look for my new book to be released sometime next spring.

Until next time, Shalom BMashiach Yshua. +

A brief glimpse of his various statements:

From the Article To Embrace Hebrew Roots: Part II: The Bible and the Talmud

"....Avi ben Mordechai, an Orthodox Sephardic Jew, concurs with Hebrew Roots teachers that the ancient Jewish teachers of the Law hold the answers:

"…Since Sha’ul followed Messiah Y’shua, who also taught the Oral and Written Torah, I submit (at this time in my life) that we should be following in the footsteps of Judaism’s great teachers of G-d’s Law,… I believe that Judaism’s ancient scholars and sages were far more knowledgeable on the Oral Traditions than we could ever hope to be." 10....

Global Unity and the Halacha

Avi ben Mordechai, an Orthodox Sephardic Jew, indicates that we need to incorporate the Jewish "halacha" teachings in order for "believers" to be unified globally. His intention is that Jewish teachers and eventually a Jewish high court should be in place in order to teach us the truth.

"…As I see it today… Nazerean (Messianic) halacha should be in place to help us as a global community of believers in Y’shua HaMashiach properly interpret the written code of Sinai for the community at-large. Not only is this good government (i.e., "the kingdom of G-d on earth") but this is also the commandment of Y’shua.…"

"The council in Acts Chapter 15 led by it Nasi (Prince) Ya’acov HaTzadeq (James) and his Av Bet Din (Father of the House of Judgment) Kefa (Peter), was built on Y’shua’s Mishnah and Gemara and on the principle that biblical Jewish government must include the halachic jurisdiction of a Bet Din or high court ( Mattityahu 18). Consequently, I believe we have the responsibility and privilege to establish another authority like the one recorded in Acts 15, and ideally, it should be seated in Y’rushalayim! "

"… first century halacha is not what it used to be. Furthermore, since there is no official high court to represent the halachic interests of believers in Y’shua, what are we to do with our own disputes, judgments, and need for legal rulings? Do we turn to the established traditions of the Sephardim? The Ashenazim?  The Conservatives or some other body of Judaism?…I believe that Judaism’s ancient scholars and sages were far more knowledgeable on the Oral Traditions than we could ever hope to be. So, what do we do? Where do we stand today since we do not have our own high court and have not had one for nearly two millennia?" 41.

Both the Sephardim and the Ashkenazim are gnostic sects of Judaism. The Sephardim are credited with the dissemination of the Cabala throughout Europe after the Jews were expelled from Spain.

Since the Talmud is considered to be above the Bible, it behooves us to know what things it teaches about the very foundations of our Christian beliefs. Since we are admonished we are not able to understand the Word of God without it and we need to be taught by Jewish sages, that is to whom we will turn, to see what is believed and taught.

Psalm 119: 16:

"I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word."

I Corinthians 1:19:

"For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
