The Prophecy Club & Elijah
2 Peter 2:1
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Al Cuppett & The Elijah Sightings
Al Cuppett, who in the past has been a frequent speaker of The Prophecy Club®, declared Elijah is alive and well in Israel.
Jim Searcy who also promotes this same Elijah on his website, Great Joy in Tribulation, writes this about Mr. Cuppett.
“Al Cuppet is the man who did two of the most popular of the Prophecy Club videos. The titles of the 2 videos are "Straight from the Joint Chiefs of Staff" and "Black Operations & Prophecy." Al has also been a faithful follower and supporter of Brother Stair, for many years. Al spent 21 years in the Army and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He also spent 9 years with the Department of Defense. He spent 6 years on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is very well aware of the secret government running America and most other nations.” [Bolding added]
“What follows is my affirming testimony, before the Lord God, concerning Elijah.”
“This Jewish born man, now in Israel, is proclaiming the last day message for all to hear. Whether they be listening, or believing, or not. …I know after 30 years of the word of God, from the word of God, what the words that the end time Elijah should be, and how they would be delivered…In June, I listened to Elijah's testimony and slept in the same room with him for 5 days. At one point he gave me a video about Anne Frank, as I was in the process of warning the Jews of the coming holocaust in America…."
the Holy Ghost revealed to me that I was to be associated with
him at all cost, as our messages are integrated…Furthermore,
I was to be around him enough to know he is the very one God
promised to send to Israel. I stand by that conclusion today.
To wit, and I say this, if he isn't the man, that there will
have to be another that looks just like him and speaks the
same words…During the 12 or so days, that I actually spent
portions of with Elijah, and after hearing his testimony, and
seeing the response of others to him: I can safely affirm
Elijah is the man of God, that God has sent, for the end
times, in Israel. Disregard the negative letters about Pastor
Carlson. For no man is perfect….”[Bolding in original]
“Also, note that Elijah preaches and rebukes just like prophet R. G. Stair.”
“…Since I did not witness any of the incidents with Elijah first hand, I can't address the Elijah related incidence regarding (l.) the demise of the mail tampering of the Bethlehem postmaster (2.)the record drought in Cypress or (3.) the serious heart attack of a Rabbi who was warned to treat black Jews equal or else.”
“But, I can assure you this, the record 3 year drought in Israel is FACT. Elijah warned them to do right, in writing, before it ever started. I saw his letters, and I read them. Israel shall heed the warnings soon, otherwise, they shall have to vacate the land for lack of water. But, prophetic scripture never removes them once they return as a nation in 1948. Therefore, they and the Government of Israel, shall heed, and obey his words. The U. S. Jews better escape to Israel soon.” [bolding added]
“….Regarding the time and the seasons, that is numbers of the dates, and times, written and set forth in the word of God, well, they must all be shortened, as the Lord has reserved that right, to save the elect, and almighty God shall have to do so, and is already doing it. That is to save us. As of July, 1999 we are on the very brink of global disaster. Prepare to meet thy God for you shall soon meet Him. And when you meet him you will recognize him as the GREAT I AM, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
Al Cuppett 10
“Brother” Ralph R.G. Stair whom Al Cuppett alludes to as being a prophet like this Elijah is best described by one observer who has listened to his radio program and read his newsletters:
“The tongues speaking, divorced and remarried Ralph Stair has what could be described as a cultish group in Walterboro, South Carolina. His radio station is based there and transmits his shortwave radio programs 24 hours a day. Mr. Stair has stated many times that if Jesus did not return in 2000 he, Stair, would go off the air. Stair also said if Jesus did not return in 2000 he would tell him to go to Hell. Stair teaches that you must never go to a doctor, you must get rid of TVs and you must move out of the cities. Women may never wear slacks. And so forth. When you listen to him you find he speaks some Biblical truth and some error. When he speaks he can sound mean and angry and at times comes across as vulgar. Al Cuppett has been on his radio broadcast more than once as has Monte Judah, a Messianic Jew, who has a ministry in OK called Lion and Lamb. “
Is Al Cuppett’s Elijah prophet just like “Brother Stair”? If so, is his behavior a new form of ‘godliness’ which lines up with Scripture?? We hardly think so!!!
1 Timothy 6: 9-12
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare,
and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men
in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
However, whether on tour or not, The
Club® still sells
Al Cuppett's videos. The
Club® web site has sold Mr. Cuppetts' two videos since
the late 90's and continues to sell them in 2006, with
the advertisements which are presented below.
Straight From The Joint Chiefs - Al Cuppett
The Al Cuppett video you've heard so much about! Al spent 21 years in the Army and won the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He spent nine years with the Dept. of Defense, which included six years on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Al explains the secret government running our nation, our defenselessness to missile attack, the red and blue roundup lists, black operations, multinational helicopter operations, UN/Soviet troops ready to control America, the microchip body implant, and photos of FEMA detention centers
Ops. and Prophecy - Al Cuppett
The follow-up to the very popular Straight From the Joint Chiefs. Al brings up-to-date information about UN black operation teams using the German Dropsonde to quickly locate American citizens for red list arrest or detention; the "meat recall" designed to better control our food distribution; the secret government's aspartame poison plan to destroy our health. He also highlights the difference between your phone being "tapped" and "trapped", UN busses being manufactured in America, painted white with black "UN" on the side, and much more. 12
One private source who spoke several times with Mr. Cuppett stated:
“He claims to speak 5 or so languages, pushes Gematria and a book about it. He is adamant that women never wear slacks. He claims to have lots of inside information about what the government is doing regarding their plans to pick up people and haul them away in helicopters to concentration camps and kill them etc. He claims that he has been under attack by government entities and said planes flew over his home and released chemtrails to make him sick. He spoke of vans outside of houses and people in the vans using microwaves to kill people by burning them. Mr. Cuppett called one night and told me the time was nearing for the helicopter pick-ups and there were lists of people to be nabbed. There was a red list and a blue list. He assured me he was on the list and that I was too. He told me about his preparations at home in the basement to avoid death by nuclear attack and told me what books to buy and what I should do to set up a bunker. He used to send out a newsletter in which he wrote about these things and the crimes of the Clintons etc. Cuppett sometimes attended "Preparedness Expos" at which patriots and others heard speakers and bought supplies to prepare for the worst.”

Elijah push is on and many are rushing to be in Israel,
including many so-called Christians, we see some believe the
emergence of an Elijah to be six months prior to the expected
appearance of “Messiah.” We know this expectation by
non-believing Jews will be for the false Messiah. According to
Kabbalist Avi ben
Mordechai, the resurrection is scheduled
for the Feast of Trumpets.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:This concept of Eliyahu's [Elijah] coming as a herald of Mashiach Ben-David [Messiah, son of David] is supported not only in the Tanakh [Old Testament] and the B'rit Chadashah [New Testament] but also in our Jewish literature:
* ...The resurrection of the dead cometh through Elijah of blessed memory. [Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Sotah 49b]
* ...the holy spirit leads to the resurrection of the dead; the resurrection of the dead leads to Elijah the prophet. [Midrash Rabbah Song of Songs]
* The resurrection of the dead will come through Elijah, who will likewise act as the herald to announce the advent of the Messiah. [Everyman's Talmud]
It was even taught that Eliyahu had three cities in Y'hudah [Judah] from which he would again begin his ministry…According to Jewish expectation, Eliyahu will emerge before the resurrection from one of these cities (ruins) and not in the desert as was Yochanan the Immerser [John the Baptist].
One more interesting fact: According to Jewish expectation, Eliyahu will come with Mosheh [Moses]… [God Speaking]
Moses, I swear to you, as you devoted your life to their service in this world, so too in the time to come when I bring Elijah, the prophet, unto them, the two of you shall come together. [Midrash Rabbah Deuteronomy]
...I believe Eliyahu and Mosheh will return in the flesh prior to the resurrection and rapture on the Day of the L-rd. How soon before the Day of the L-rd will they appear? I am not sure about Mosheh but I think Eliyahu will come six months before the resurrection because Yochanan (a type of Eliyahu), who was a forerunner of Mashiach, was six months older than Y'shua. And if Y'shua comes for His bride at Rosh Hashanah then Eliyahu will appear in Israel at Pesach. Why Pesach? Because that is when Eliyahu is expected. For almost 2,000 years, Jews every year at the annual celebration of Pesach prepare a table-setting for him.
In the ancient Jewish writings including the Tanakh the resurrection is scheduled for the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) which is called an "appointed time," or in Hebrew, a Moed.

Grant Jeffrey, a speaker at
Prophecy Club, and founder of Frontier Research
Publications, Inc, and whom we mentioned in connection with
Prophezine, promotes Bible Codes a.k.a. gematria,
a slightly different time frame concerning Elijah. He states
it is taught by rabbis that Elijah will appear, not six months
prior to the Messiah but, either 3 days or 3 years prior.
the centuries the Jews have developed a number of traditions
about Elijah the prophet...His appearance as the forerunner of
Messiah will motivate the Jewish people to national and
individual repentance. The rabbis believe that Elijah and the
Messiah will usher in a time of peace and harmony for all
nations. They believe that Elijah will resolve all legal
questions and the discrepancies in religious law (Halachah).
In addition they expect him to establish the proper rituals
for the restoration of the Temple service. Curiously, they
describe Elijah as a partner to Moses in God's coming kingdom,
the same role that Aaron used to perform during the Exodus.
rabbis teach that Elijah will appear at some point in time
(either three days or three years) before the advent of the
Messiah. They anticipate that he will appear in Palestine and
utter a lament over the devastation of the Holy Land. After
Michael the Archangel blows his trumpet, Elijah will introduce
the Messiah to the world. The Talmud claims that several
wonders will accompany the coming of Elijah and the Messiah:
(1) He will bring Moses back to life. (2) He will reveal the
secret location of the three holy vessels that mysteriously
disappeared: the Ark of the Covenant, the Flask of Manna and
the container of sacred anointing oil. (3) He will carry the
royal scepter of Judah which God promised 'shall not depart
from Judah...until Shiloh come' (Gen 49:10). (4) He will
transform the geography of the Holy Land, leveling the
curious belief of the rabbis is that Elijah will be one of the
eight princes that will form the cabinet of the Messiah.
Additionally, they tell us that Elijah will restore the tribal
identities of the Jews." 13
The Prophecy Club Insights
The Prophecy Club, founded by Stan Johnson, provide these insights about themselves. "The Prophecy Club web site is an extension of The Prophecy Club, a Christian ministry dedicated to bringing you the best in Bible prophecy. Our mission is to warn Christians and non-Christians of the devices of the devil and judgment coming on America, and encourage them to get sin out of their life and to walk closer to Jesus Christ.”
The Prophecy Club's site stated "The Lord started The Prophecy Club® because 'in general' churches will not sound the warning." A quick review of their AboutUs information in 2006 shows, "...Today, The Prophecy Club's basic message of biblical prophecy and warning remains. ...Historically, crusades were organized to take back geographical territories for God. Today, The Prophecy Club holds a crusade every three to six weeks, thus taking back spiritual territory in this country for the Kingdom of God..." 14
God didn't lose any territory. This is dominionist/restoration/kingdom now theology which has no Scriptural foundation. If the presence of the Prophecy Club in a particular city made the city for God--all would be born-again believers with zero crime rates and everything done for the honor of Jesus Christ. There is no such place.
Describing the benefits of membership to the Prophecy Club, it promises: "...If we want power, prophecy, praise, worship, miracles, healing, intercession and the five-fold anointing in our lives, then we want to be a Partaker. Being a Partaker is better than being a partner because you "partake" in the anointing, blessing and protection of that ministry." 15
There is no Scripture to support the above claims. All who belong to Jesus Christ are filled with the Spirit, given gifts according to the Holy Spirit for edifying the Body of Christ and sharing Christ and are protected because of Christ. One does not need to belong to or 'partake' of anything but obedience to Christ and the Word of God.
Unfortunately, the Prophecy Club name really is a misnomer. With all the failed predictions, empty speculation, un-verifiable claims, faulty theology, provably inaccurate scholarship by some, many Christians view the Prophecy Club as devoid of anything worthwhile.
Stan Johnson, the founder, and with many speakers referred to as anointed apostles and prophets/prophetesses, have made so many failed predictions, even Rick Joyner's heretical teaching that prophecy can be 10-90% accurate would be pushed to the limit. According to Stan Johnson and his associates, prophets don't have to be 100% accurate, using Jonah as the example, and also misapplying Deuteronomy 13:1-3. In fact, as discussed later in this article concerning all the Y2K prophetic failures, Stan Johnson eventually declared that, "The best prophet may be a false prophet.", while also having declared that all prophetic dreams and visions were, "Thus saith the Lord".
Everything must be bound to the Scriptures, not dreams, not speculation and not factual inaccuracies. God cannot lie. Yet if these 'prophets' claim God told them things that were to happen and then they did not, and now those things are viewed with relief as false prophecies, how does that align with any Scripture?
God said more about prophecy than the verses used by Johnson and others promoting the inaccuracies of the dreams and visions and 'prophetic utterances.'
Jer 23:30-32 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
De 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
The question would be whether any claiming to be prophets are, and where is the discernment and weighing all to the Scriptures and proving all things? Those things are sadly lacking in many ministries and those claiming leadership let alone the inside track of 'prophecy.'
The Prophecy Club Speakers
According to Stan Johnson in March 2006, there have been some 135 speakers involved in the Prophecy Club over thirteen years, although 100 of them seemed to be up to the Y2K fiasco. Some of those past Prophecy Club Speakers have been on their previous speaker lists from 1995, from 2000 up to and since 2003/2004, and includes names supposedly removed by that time. 16
The following list also includes promoted names in the Prophecy Club store up to 2006, although it is unclear if all have been speakers at the Prophecy Club or are merely selling their products there. The total number of names listed in 2006 is about 84:
|Dr. Bill Deagle||

Many of the speakers are 'former' intelligence officers, former spies, former government insiders, former military, former satanists, etc. and many claim to have inside or unique information that is hidden by the authorities and which in many cases, they alone are privy to this truth. Some are CNP members, and ecumenical in their beliefs. Some may have legitimate and provable information, although one could well wonder why they are involved with this organization.

Prophecy Club speakers include those like Gary Kah and Berit Kjos have been mentioned previously in connection with Prophezine and ICES. It should be noted that Prophezine has been revamped since the initial report. Gary Kah claimed in a Washington state radio interview that he had spoken at a CNP event.
Amid Grant Jeffrey's speculations, un-provable claims, Y2K failed predictions and others, is his promotion of the kabbalah via the Zohar. He is viewed by many as the push behind the acceptance of Bible codes by Christians and he first introduced his followers to Yacov Rambsel and his Bible codes. Rambsel's ELS codes focused on finding Yeshua hidden throughout the Old Testament, although the Greek in the New Testament never appears to come into the equations of proving Biblical Truth.
Yacov Rambsel, whose actual name was James Arthur Rambsel, died in July 2005. His work is still sold by the Prophecy Club. A TBN guest, he was also a guest speaker at The Days of Elijah Prophetic Conference: August 13 - 17, 2003 whose stated theme was "Understanding the Prophetic Role of Israel and the Church in the Last Days." He was listed alongside Ralph Messer, Perry Stone and others including musical appearances by such as the MJAA's Paul Wilbur. See: MJAA Executives & The Hebrew Roots "Fringe". His teachings are for sale at God's News Behind the News, Prophezine, The Prophecy Club and similar sources.
Grant Jeffrey's latest promotion of the zohar found on his web site, presents the 'kabbalist trinity' and is called, The Sacred Mystery of the Trinity'. Below is an excerpt from Grant Jeffrey's article, where he is promoting kabbalistic writings, which he claims were written at the time of Christ when in fact the zohar/kabbalah which he references was written in the thirteenth century:
"....The fascinating book Kabbalah Denudata by Knorr von Rosenroth was published in 1677 and later translated into English almost two centuries later. His book is valuable for Christian scholars unfamiliar with the Hebrew and Aramaic languages who wish to examine the teachings of the Zohar.
"Many of the most difficult areas of the Scriptures are discussed and debated in the pages of the Zohar. The primary value for Christians is the deeper understanding we can gain as to what the Jewish religious leaders truly thought about the teachings of the Old Testament, including the mystery of the Trinity. I was amazed when I first read the English translations of this book because I discovered that these brilliant Jewish sages had come to a clear understanding of the mystery of the Trinity two thousand years ago. This important discovery of the teaching of the Trinity by the ancient Jewish sages helps us to understand why many Jews accepted the teaching of John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth during the first century of this era. Although many Jews naturally rejected Jesus' claims to be the Messiah and the Son of God, many Jews accepted that Jesus was the fulfillment of the ancient prophecies of the Old Testament. In addition, the fact that the ancient Jewish sages spoke of the mystery of the plural nature of God prepared many in the Jewish nation to accept Jesus' claims that "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30).
The Trinity As Taught by the Ancient Jewish Sages
Do the ancient Jewish books such as the Zohar and the Targums actually refer to the Trinity and clearly describe the plural nature of God? Let me present the evidence, and you will be able to judge for yourself. Consider the following statements:
"How can they (the three) be One? Are they verily One, because we call them One ?..." 18
The “Zohar” that Grant Jeffrey is referencing above, is the main foundational book of kabbalistic teachings, that was written by those who openly denied Christ. The idea that these occult writings presented the trinity is refuted in the series To Embrace Hebrew Roots, specifically Part V The Kabbalah, which discusses "The fascinating book Kabbalah Denudata by Knorr von Rosenroth" mentioned by Grant Jeffrey and concerning the 'Christian Cabala', the "Jewish Encyclopœdia goes on to observe derisively, " held the absurd idea that the Cabala contained proofs of the truth of Christianity…. Much that appears Christian [in the Cabala] is, in fact, nothing but the logical development of certain ancient esoteric doctrines."
A further example of Prophecy Club promotion of 'codes' information is found at whitestoneresearch.net, the website of Tom Mack. Al Neal is listed as one of the most popular Prophecy Club speakers with his and Tom Mack's promotion of Bible Codes aka kabbalistic gematria.
The crossover of speakers from The Prophecy Club and potential influence of Christians via other claimed prophecy groups or media such as God's News Behind the News, Prophezine, Prophecy Central, TBN, Sky Angel, and so on, via their various speakers who promote such things as gematria/bible codes, returning to Hebrew/hebraic or Jewish roots, returning to the law, charismatic, dominionist/reconstructionist, British Israel and other doctrine, is widespread. Many speakers are found promoting their beliefs via the sale of their books or other media and are interviewed or promoted to the various groups for that reason. Many may not be aware of the beliefs of other speakers or the groups they inevitably and perhaps inadvertently endorse by their presence.
The Prophecy Club Teachings
Aside from the charismatic, restore the Apostles and prophets leanings, the dominionist and so on beliefs are the following observations. Many teachings out of the Prophecy Club exude British-Israelism, with anti-government fear-mongering and pro-Christian revolution by some. If one looks at the categories of their products, they range from selling food, clothing, to conspiracy about 9-11, terrorism, astrology, charismatic theology, prophetic training, UFO's, an "Angel protecting America shot down the spacecraft at Roswell", area 51, New World Order hidden information that only the presenting experts have access to, why and when the earth will flip on it's axis, Power of Jesus crusades videos, Biblical secrets that the particular speaker can only expound on, etc..
Many promote militias, patriot groups, guns, gematria, near death/out of body experiences for obtaining new revelation and prophecy. Jews are told to flee America's "coming destruction" and Prophecy Club adherents urged to move to Belize, Brazil and other destinations by some. Everything is hyped, conspiratorial and causing the listener to focus and be concerned with the issues of the day, worry about what governments might be doing, rather than resting in Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Some have claimed to see Christ or speak directly with Him. Jesus warned:
Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The reason for urging preparedness for the coming destruction of the U.S. is that prophecy teachers such as Al Cuppett and Tom Van Asperen believe that America is Israel and that American Christians are God's chosen people rather than the Jews. They believe that the impending destruction will be God's wrath and judgment on the true "Israel" for permitting corruption, immorality, greed and materialism to become a way of life.
In what appears to be an attempt to incite rebellion in some form against the American government, some of these prophecy teachers preach that the anti-Christian Illuminati/Council on Foreign Relations, which control the U.S., must be eliminated and the nation brought under the control of Christians. Hence, the need for a Christian "army" and the teaching of a righteous revolution. Young people especially are being groomed for acceptance of this false teaching, whereby they and Christians in general can be viewed as a problem to the state. Because of the charismatic/latterrain/kingdom now/dominionist theology, this fits well with the Joel's Army teachings.
We are not to be concerned with what the secular world is doing. Neither Christ or the apostles advocated rebellion to government and any interaction with authorities was due to spiritual issues. Jesus said of future events, 'these things must come to pass.'
Is God’s coming judgment
only to be executed on the United States, or does Scripture
state that He will pour out his wrath on all the nations? In
their patriotic zeal, American Christians have foolishly
listened to false prophets who advise rebellion in some form
against ruling authorities instead of listening to Scripture,
which states that God appoints all government .
1 Peter 1:11,13-14 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; ...Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
would Al Cuppett and others advise American Jews to flee to safety in
Israel? He overlooks the fact that the Bible prophesies the
"time of Jacob's trouble" at which time the
antichrist will make a false covenant of peace and then
attempt to annihilate the physical Jews. These events are
foretold in the books of Daniel and Revelation. Those who have
feigned support of Israel and the covenant of peace will be
exposed and judged by the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming. At
this time the remnant of Jews and all mankind will recognize their Messiah. [Zech. 12: 8-10 and 14:1-4]
Will mankind be able to hide
in bunkers to save themselves from God's wrath and judgment?
Revelation 6:15-17 “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”Revelation 9:6 “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”
there Scripture that states we are to be in rebellion to
governments that God himself has put in place? Is there some
Scripture that tells us that rebellion is now acceptable in
God’s eyes, whereas before it was “as the sin of
Romans 13:1,2 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”
Failed Prophecies of the Prophecy Club
In 1997 Stan Johnson of the Prophecy Club saw a "90 percent" chance that the tribulation would start September 12, 1997. He based his conclusions by combining the failed date setting of Robert Wadsworth that September 12 would be Jesus' 2,000th birthday and it would also be the Day of Atonement (according to Wadsworth's calculations). Further support was extracted from his frequent Prophecy Club speaker, Dumitru Duduman. Dumitru, who died in May 1997, and who claimed to have seen the Book of Life, the "Gentile Book of Life" and with claims over the years of having seen several pages yet to be completed. In the last claim concerning the "Gentile Book of Life", there was only one page left. Johnson and his associates proclaimed that the latest time frame for the completion of the book would have to be September 1997 with the Tribulation starting at that time.
That vision was promoted in the Prophecy Club's May 1997 Newsletter,
"Vision received by Dumitru Duduman on November 29, 1996
As I was laying in my hospital bed, looking over the faces of my family, three men appeared beside me. One had a globe in his hand, and he began to rotate it and point out certain countries saying: "This is where the destruction will come from. I don't remember all the places he pointed to, but I remember I saw Mexico, Cuba, and the Alaskan border. Then one of the men spoke to me; "We fought against death for you. It was a hard fight. Do not fear; you will not leave. You still have work to do."
Suddenly, three stars appeared behind them. One of them asked: "Do you know what that means?"
"No," I answered.
"We won't say exactly, but it probably means that in another three years a great massacre will occur." Then the stars turned into blood, and everything disappeared."19
In checking the news, the United States and other places appear to be still intact in March 2006, not having been massacred by the Russian subs, which are also required as prophetic fulfillment in Duduman's prophecies, including, "It will start with an internal revolution, started by the Communists" as the promo for the destruction of America. To date, those things have not taken place. However, the US and countries around the world have been hit severely by storms, earthquakes, flooding and other disasters. Apparently those scenarios don't fit with these particular prophecy experts and their 'revelations' as meaning much of anything.
Importance of Dumitru Duduman
One website recounted this concerning Stan Johnson, the Prophecy Club and the importance of Dumitru Duduman and his visions :[Bolding added]
"...I remember hearing Johnson speak on a Prophecy Club radio broadcast that sometimes his organization features speakers that they might not agree with completely. He's willing to cut them a little slack as long as they follow two simple rules: (1) They must not challenge the inerrancy, infallibility, or divine preservation of the King James Version of the Holy Bible. (2) Their prophecies and visions must not run counter to those that have been made by Dumitru Duduman.
Obviously, Duduman's revelations carry a lot of weight with Johnson, who has frequently spoken about how he drove Duduman to various prophecy meetings and sermons through America and listened as Duduman revealed more visions he had received from the Lord. When Duduman died in 1997, Johnson appeared to be quite saddened by the loss of an old friend that he looked up to and whose prophecies he had apparently cherished in his heart. It is therefore even more of a mystery how such a glaring inconsistency could have persisted in a Prophecy Club publication for so long without anyone bringing it to Johnson's attention earlier..." 20
In July 1997, Stan Johnson posted the predictions of Duduman, with relation to the September 1997 event, under the title, "Invasion Of Israel/America; Gentile Book Of Life Filled; Israel's Sin Washed Away/Recognizes Jesus As Messiah; And Their Land Returned?". In that rambling, he recounted the various 'encounters' or visions as they like to refer to them, with some men who had appeared to give the information to Duduman concerning the Book of Life:
[Bolding added] "...God gave Dumitru visions of the Book of Life. Here are some important points to notice: when the Gentile Book of Life is filled, His grace leaves the Gentiles; and goes to the Jews then what He has prophesied for America comes. When His grace goes to the Jews, do their sins also leave?
4 Pages Remain
Dumitru Duduman -August 1991
"...A powerful bolt of lightning passed right by me. Out of it came two beings.... They asked if I knew who they were. I said, "No." They said, "We are heavenly beings." Their clothes were white as snow. They had eyes that were penetrating. There was a light in them. I could hardly look at them. Their hair was white as wool, it was long, going down their backs. One of them had a book. The other one had an ink well attached to his belt, and a large pen in his hand. There was an eraser on one end.
The one with the pen said, "I was sent to complete The Book Of The Gentiles. Do you want to see your names?" I looked, I saw that all the names of my family were written there. They were circled. I asked why they were circled. He said, "The devil doesn't like what you do, and fights powerfully against all you do. I have circled your names so I will give you extra protection."
Then he opened the back of the book and counted out the remaining blank pages at the end. One, two, three, four. Only four pages left. "When these are filled," he said, "The Book Of The Gentiles will be complete. "Then I will return to my people. Some of the names that are listed here will be erased. I will erase the names of those who have mocked God, and tested the Spirit of Grace. I will replace them with other names." ....
Clouds in the Sky; 3-1/4 Pages Remain
Dumitru Duduman -1991
"...Then two men appeared out of the white cloud. One had a face like the sun. It was so bright I could not look at it. The other had a humble face and had a book in his hand. He opened it, and said, "Look."
He began to count the pages of the book. There were only three and a quarter empty pages. Then he said, "It won't be long, be prepared. When these pages are filled, God's grace will leave the Gentiles. Then we will go to The Jewish Book of Life...."
Dream of 1 3/4 Pages Remain
Then on November 6, 1993, he had another dream, most of which I must skip. The main part said.
"They put the books down on a large table. They spoke to me saying, "Open, and read!" I opened the first book. I was told, "This is the Book of Life." The man to my left said, "Whoever finds his name in this book will be saved!" He said, "Open the second book!" The words 'Book of the Gentiles' was scrawled on the second book. I began to turn the pages. I saw all kinds of names. I reached the end of the book. I found there one and three-quarter pages left blank, unwritten.
One of the two men said, "When the total number of the Gentiles is completed, writing in this book will be finished. At that time, what I have shown you will happen. Then the beast will do battle against the Holy. Remember what I tell you. Be prepared. Live a holy life, and do not think you have much time to live on this earth! Jesus is soon returning!
On July 1, 1994 Dumitru had another dream of the Book of Life from which I will quote.
Dream received by Dumitru Duduman - July 1, 1994
...Only One Page Remains!
Dumitru Duduman -January 1996
"....Two men walked out of this star dressed in shining garments. One spoke to me: "...I still have names to add to the number before all the things that I have shown you will happen."
They opened a great book and said, "Do you remember how many pages were left to fill when I showed you last time? Now, there is but one page left. When this is completed, what I have told you will happen to America." The man proceeded to tell me that the time it would take for this page to be filled would not be longer, but shorter. He closed the book and sounds of thunder reverberated. ..."
[Stan Johnson] Does this mean the Gentile Book of Life is filled on September the 12th? Would that mean God goes to the Jewish Book of Life? Would that mean that the new covenant God promised the people of Israel and Judah would take effect? Would that mean the method of getting saved would change? If so, how would it change?....If we switch from grace to the new covenant, where are the Gentiles? How do people get saved? Are we still here?..." [Bolding added] 21
Update: In November 2007, a reader brought some things to my attention.
I was reading your web page:http://www.seekgod.ca/prophclub.htm#dud and came across Stan Johnson's statement: "I treat all dreams and visions as "thus saith the Lord" and don’t make any changes, even spelling or grammatical changes without the permission of the author."
Apparently, Stan seems to do the opposite of what he says. According to your source (point 21) Stan wrote down the following "unchanged" prophecy:
4 Pages Remain
Dumitru Duduman -August 1991
"...Then he opened the back of the book and counted out the remaining blank pages at the end. One, two, three, four. Only four pages left...."
The wording is incorrect according to the Hand of Help website (the official website for Dumitru Duduman's ministry) >http://www.handofhelp.com/vision_14.php
"He opened the back of the book and counted out 4 remaining blank pages at the end..."
What's written on the Hand of Help website is the same as written in his book; which I have a copy of: "Through the Fire Without Burning" by Dumitru Duduman; pg. 173; ISBN 0-9635055-0-5; 2nd Edition (1992).
Your source (point 21) seems to indicate it's publication date as July 1997 (www.prophecyclub.com/july97/1.html) which is 5 years after the publication of Dumitru's book. Clearly showing that Stan altered the original wording of Dumitru's writings. It appears that the Prophecy Club has since then removed this page.
Also, I have heard Stan on his radio show, and read in his writings, this oft repeated phrase; "It will start with an internal revolution, started by the Communists." This phrase was never used in Dumitru's writings. What is written is the following:
The Russian spies have discovered where the nuclear warehouses are in America. When the Americans will think that it is peace and safety - from the middle of the country, some of the people will start fighting against the government. The government will be busy with internal problems. (pg. 161, Through the Fire Without Burning)
It doesn't say that the Communists will start an internal revolution; just that the Russian spies have discovered where the nuclear warehouses are in America.
This has actually been confirmed by a former defected Russian KGB agent. ...
Stan Johnson also royally messed up this one; which seems to be a major point of your argument (which I agree with– that being, there is only one book of Life):
Clouds in the Sky; 3-1/4 Pages Remain
Dumitru Duduman -1991
When these pages are filled, God's grace will leave the Gentiles. Then we will go to The Jewish Book of Life...."
The original on the website and in his 1992, 2nd edition book (pg . 174) (http://www.handofhelp.com/vision_15.php) states the following:
When these pages are filled, The Grace will leave the gentiles. Draw closer to me now, more than ever - and be holy, because hard times are coming."
He changed the wording from the original (the Grace– to – God's grace) and then proceeded to add something that was not there in the original (...Then we will go to The Jewish Book of Life....)
...In fact, from all the visions that are posted on the Hand of Help website and in his books, only one has the word "Jewish" in it: http://www.handofhelp.com/vision_1.php
"I have blessed this country because of the Jewish people who are in this country. I have seven million Jews in this country, but they do not want to recognize the Lord. They didn't want to thank God for the blessing they received in this country. Israel doesn't want to recognize Jesus Christ. They put their faith in the Jewish people in America. (also on pg 162, Through the Fire without Burning)
No where else is the term "Jewish" used in conjunction with the words "book of life" in any of Dumitru's visions.
Also the book of the Gentiles is never referred to as the Gentile Book of Life in Dumitru's visions. This appears to be another Stan Johnson embellishment. There is only one book of life mentioned in his visions and that is the "Book of Life" which goes on to say that "...Whoever finds his name in this book will be saved..." This of course correlates with what is written in Rev 20:15.
Throughout Dumitru's writings, when it came to this vision of the book of the Gentiles, I always associated it to Luke 21:24;
"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."
I haven't found a mentioning of this specific book in Scripture, but it does mention a time to come when there will be a fulfillment of the Gentiles; thus a completion. Scripture does however mention that there are other books besides the book of Life; referred to as "books [plural]".
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
These "books" that are opened could include a "book of the Gentiles". Scripture does not tell us what these books are, except that "... the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books"
Therefore you are correct...there is only one Book of Life; but there are other "books" which very well could include the "book of the Gentiles". The only place the "Jewish Book of Life" appears is in Stan Johnson's embellished writings. So much for Stan not making "...any changes, even spelling or grammatical changes..."
...Stan says he had a vision that he was Dumitru Duduman. In other words Stan was claiming that the "mantle" of prophecy pasted to himself. Well...it appears that "prophet" wasn't good enough. He has now chosen the title of apostle...sorry...Apostle with a capital "A".
In my research I found out that Dumitru and the founder of the Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) (www.persecution.com), Richard Wurmbrand, worked together in Romania to smuggle Bibles into Romania and Russia. I contacted VOM directly to find out if this was true and they confirmed it. Richard also helped Dumitru when he came here to America.
I was following, and contributing to VOM for at least 3 years prior to that of Hand of Help. Richard Wurmbrand suffered in Communist prisons for (I think) a combined total of 12 years because of his preaching of the gospel. He was truly a godly man, and godly men typically don't work with ungodly men for an extended period of time. A man that walks with God will soon discover if there is a wolf in sheep's clothing in his midst.
I appreciate your desire to root out false doctrine. I see too that it is our duty as Christians to point this out to others when we see it. I agree with your assessment of Stan, but I do not agree with your assessment of Dumitru. ..."[email>Subject: Dumitru Duduman and Stan Johnson; Sat 11/3/2007, name withheld]
It's difficult to believe that there are likely very sincere people following this 'stuff'. How can someone who claims Christian leadership have so little understanding of the Word of God, and who Jesus Christ is and what was accomplished through Him? The 'new covenant God promised the people' was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. "Getting saved" and coming to the Father can only be through Jesus Christ. We are saved by God's grace. There is no 'switch' from that grace to another new covenant. Those very questions and statements by Stan Johnson overthrow many, many Scriptures.
The New Covenant prophecy from Jeremiah 31 and Matthew 26:28 is referenced to by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews8:
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
...13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Please see the Tithing series, which discusses the promised New Covenant and other related issues. Tithing Is It Scriptural for New Covenant Believers? Introduction with particular focus on Tithing Part 2: The Prophesied New Covenant
Reviewing the various claims of the late Dimitru Duduman, (none of which have come true although all appear to have been dated at some point), there were a few verses that came immediately to mind concerning the Book of Revelation, the prophecies and the adding to or taking away from those words, which is the Revelation of Jesus Christ [Rev 1:1] whose testimony is the spirit of prophecy. [Rev 19:10]
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
21: 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
According to the above verses, God, who is omniscient, has known who is written in the book of life since the 'foundation of the world,' and one would assume He always has known. There is absolutely no verse in Revelation or any other book in the Bible that refers to a Gentile Book of Life or a Jewish Book of Life. There is mention of one, singular, book of life which belongs to the the Lamb of God and is written by God. [Ex 32:32; Rev 13:8]. We are all one in Jesus Christ.
20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Of course, the pattern of inaccuracies continues. According to Mr. Duduman's prophecies, "Babylon", (which he and many referred to as the United States) would be destroyed in a nuclear firestorm in what they stated was the near future. According to that failed vision, the date was apparently three years from Nov 29, 1996, which meant the end of November, 1999.
Dr. Bill Deagle or William Deagle had toured extensively with The Prophecy Club®, and proclaimed himself to be one of the two witnesses in Revelation, to which Stan Johnson also appeared to uphold, at least temporarily, as well as claiming to be one of the 24 elders spoken of in Revelation. Deagle claimed to have daily prophetic visitations from the angel Gabriel. He was still listed as a past speaker in 2004.
The late Dumitru Duduman and the popular Henry Gruver also claimed to have been taken up in the Spirit, high above the earth by the Lord's Angel, and were shown the coming nuclear war and destruction of America by Russian submarines. Duduman also claimed to have visitations from the angel Gabriel. Henry Gruver claimed to have died and been in heaven for several hours, and that video is sold at Prophecy Club. The required Russian submarine attacks might be in sharp contrast to predictions by some Prophecy Club speakers concerning the impending hoards of Muslims coming to shore to destroy America.
In January 2000, Stan Johnson wrote in his newsletter, concerning the late Duduman's booklet of prophecies and visions and a printed error. Michael Boldea, Duduman's grandson, has replaced his grandfather as speaker and prophet with the Prophecy Club. In that newsletter, Stan Johnson stated that all dreams and visions were viewed as "this saith the Lord" and not to be questioned. [Bolding added]
"When Will it Happen?—Corrected
Our office was contacted by Michael Boldea of Hand of Help ministries. He told us that our 35 Prophecies, Dreams and Visions booklet we offer has a misquote in it. He said in the “When Will it Happen” message, it should read, “Tell the people of America that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. If they will repent and turn back to God, they will make it through the second day to the third day. If they don’t, they will not make it.”
We printed it as, “If they will repent and turn back to God, they will make it to the 2000 year mark. If they do not, they will not make it to the 2000th year.
Small change, but it makes a big difference in interpretation. I checked in their booklet, Dreams and Visions from God, published in 1994 and sure enough, they were right!
How it got to me that way is still a mystery, because I treat all dreams and visions as “thus saith the Lord” and don’t make any changes, even spelling or grammatical changes without the permission of the author. I checked our files to see if I could find the original newsletter I took it from, but it was not there so I will go along with Michael’s published version.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused." [bolding added] 22
Apparently false prophecy is merely overlooked with an 'oops', blaming non-Christians or secular media or they weren't really speaking on behalf of God, prophecy doesn't have to be accurate or something similar. That, and then we have many of the speakers' false prophecies and date setting rather colliding with or contradicting one another and not coming to pass.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
