Michael Rood,  Sky Angel , Ron Wyatt,

&

The National Religious Broadcasters

A review of the listed programs at the Christian based and ecumenical Sky Angel satellite system, includes Michael Rood's teachings, which we know contain anti-Christian, and definitely anti-Christ rhetoric, rejection of the Greek New Testament for the non-existent "original" Hebrew New Testament, and more. Many are buying into his rhetoric and believing him to be a "Torah Observant" Messianic or Jewish Messianic (he was not born Jewish), a "levite" (he's not of the levitical priesthood), a former Baptist minister (he was not), a rabbi, or Rabbi, or whatever else he claims to be. He has prophesied falsely and continues to do so, and yet many seek him as a source for information, going entirely against the Scriptures they would also claim to uphold. Mr. Rood calls his often corrected zodiac based "Corrected Hebrew Calendar",  "The Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar".

While exhibiting at the 2003 National Religious Broadcasters [NRB] Convention, Michael Rood, who this author has written extensively about, made the initial contact with Sky Angel, which has been broadcasting his teachings on both Sky Angel One and Sky Angel Two. Both Sky Angel and the NRB assert their mission is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and members must agree with their statements of faith.

The NRB states it's purpose for their annual convention as being the following:

"The annual Convention & Exposition is the largest nationally and internationally recognized event dedicated solely to assist those in the field of Christian communications. The dynamic Exposition consists of nearly 300 companies and is a active marketplace for those seeking tools and services to expand their ministries. ... The convention undoubtedly is the best way to meet and speak directly with top management in Christian communications." http://www.nrb.org/ 

Their 2005 NRB Convention ad, which Michael Rood is also booked at, states: "The NRB Annual Convention & Exposition is the largest nationally and internationally recognized event dedicated to assist, train and network professionals in Christian communications..." http://content.nrb.org/convention-files/NRB2005/AboutNRB.htm

NRB also states, "NRB is your partner to promote the Gospel..."

And, "...The Association exists to represent the Christian broadcasters’ right to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world..."  http://www.nrb.org/partner/1,,308766,00.html

That is not what Michael Rood is about. He clearly rejects things "Christian," which he calls pagan, including the Name of Jesus Christ, and attempts to pull people into his Way International based theology, not only from the 'Christian' arena, but the Messianic as well. In fact, although apparently not Jewish, in his prior two promotions for his October/ November 2003 tour to Israel, he used the phrases of come to "our Promised Land."

As an aside, many of the channels such as PAX, and Sky Angel, ran specials about the making of  "The Passion", and one NBC news reporter discussed the "targeted marketing campaign", and how there was a "Passion of The Christ" race car running on the NASCAR circuit. She then spoke about the NRB Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, and how the film was being promoted there. 

"NRB's sixteen hundred members including radio, TV, and internet organizations reach as many as 140,000,000 Americans each month, a potentially powerful influence to sell tickets, and ultimately they hope, save souls. And the irony that Hollywood, long the object of scorn may help their cause, is not lost on their leaders". 

The reporter then showed a short clip from an interview with Dr. Frank Wright, President of the ecumenical NRB, in which he stated, " It is a sense in which this film coming out of Hollywood is a great encouragement, because it's showing the Christian religion in a respectful, and more positive light than others have done."

The NRB issued a February 2001 press release stating that it's 1350 member group was no longer affiliated with the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE). [PR] The NRB had been a charter member since the NAE launched in 1944, and both are conduits for "New Evangelicalism" beliefs. Although no longer affiliated with the NAE, the National Religious Broadcasters is still affiliated with many that are members of the NAE and also those highly connected with the Council for National Policy (CNP), including the following CNP members ~ Dr. John F. Ankerberg,  Ben Armstrong, Edward G. Atsinger III, Dr. Theodore Baehr, Richard Bott, Allen Burkett, John Commuta, Richard Dunham, Stuart Epperson, Jerry Falwell, D. James Kennedy , Beverly LaHaye, Dr. Timothy LaHaye, Richard Mason, Thomas E. McCabe, Rev. Austin Miles , Sam Moore, Paul Pressler, Dr. "M.G." Pat Robertson, Jay A. Sekulow  Peter E. Waldron, Rev. Jim Woodall .

Michael Rood and his associates appear to have been busy trying to reinvent some of his website to make it appear more "Christian'', "Church" and "Y'Shua" friendly, since the Sky Angel appearances. However, the truth is, Michael Rood rejects the name of Jesus, calling it and "Christians" pagan and deceived. He uses the name "YAHshua", which is not the Hebrew name of Jesus. It was in fact a word made up by the sacred name movement, which is defined by many researchers as a cult. The correct Hebrew Name that Jesus was derived from is Yehoshua shortened to Yeshua. (Strong's # 3091)  

While challenged about not having a definitive statement of faith on a sacred name forum, Michael Rood wrote to that forum in 2005. Here's an excerpt from that note:

"...I think that the book will be a good statement of faith.

I dont pretend to share my faith with someone who wants a few bullet points to pidgeon hole me. I share my faith free of charge at every seminar, sky angel broadcast, and Israelnet.tv airing. No, on second thought, they are not at all free - I have had to pay with my life for years, and all that has been donated continues to pay for these "free" things. Every seminar night costs us thousands. We went broke four years ago doing them and we had to pack up and go home. This is how we get the good news out to the world.

Sensational??? I agree. I am a fanatic for the Almighty. I think the plan of redemption is the most enthralling reality in the universe. I get chills every time I tell the stories in the Scriptures. My Elohim is absolutely sensational - far beyond my feeble attempts to demonstrate.

Faith? I don't own a house. I have no life insurance. I have no car insurance. I rode busses in Jerusalem at the time they were being blown up every week. I get no paycheck. I have not had a vacation in 10 years. I get room and board just like everyone else on my staff. I live by faith - some help me along the way, but that is all up to them. I don't state faith, I prefer to live it.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent my faith.

The book Michael Rood is referring to, The Pagan-Christian Connection Exposed, has the following for a 'statement of faith', and recalling that Michael Rood is not Jewish unless he recently converted to Judaism in some form, which would mean clear rejection of the New Testament and Jesus Christ.

"Being that I am a Jewish follower of the Jewish Messiah, I hope that you will bear with me in this matter: I prefer to use the Lord's Hebrew name, Y'shua, rather than His Gentile nickname, Jesus. I love the name Yahshua." [page 76,77]

 

"...let me say that I consider myself to be a believer in, and a follower of Y'shua, whom I believe with all my heart, soul, mind and strength to be the Messiah of the GOD of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Ya'akov." (page 78)

Jehovah's witnesses, Mormons, and even Muslims likely would agree that Jesus is the "Messiah". They just do not believe that He is God manifest in the flesh.

Although he has tried to tone down his anti-christ rhetoric, Mr. Rood is using the same teaching videos and tapes that hold those same beliefs. He claims to have left "the Baptist cult", but never has renounced The Way International cult, which denies the divinity of Christ, and which he was actively a leader in for over twenty years. That is where he obtained his Biblical understandings and 'prophecy' leanings.

That goes entirely against the Sky Angel stated mission which says in part,

"...This is why it is essential that Christians own and control a multi-channel television “platform” that provides Christian families with a wholesome and Christ-centered choice for their TV viewing—and even radio listening; a platform that cannot be interrupted or influenced by those who may want to censor or even exclude evangelical programming and, thus, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; ...Sky Angel's mission is to provide only TV and radio channels that espouse Christian values, communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ and give families a wholesome choice in entertaining programming ...Sky Angel is literally blanketing the nation with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ! ...No longer do programmers and networks producing and carrying programs espousing Christian values and lifting up the name of Jesus Christ have to be dependent upon secular-owned and -operated systems for carriage—secular systems that may not necessarily embrace the Gospel message and may even reject it. These Christian networks and programmers now have a platform called Sky Angel that shares their calling: to reach the masses with the message of Jesus Christ and to provide wholesome, edifying and inspirational programming. ...multiple channels of the Gospel are eventually delivered via the Sky Angel signal around the globe to areas where many have not had the privilege of hearing the saving message of Jesus Christ! ...We believe that Sky Angel is a magnificent tool for the Church to move in unity, display the love of Jesus and teach the Word of God ..." www.skyangel.com/About/Index.asp?IdS=001D4C-439F320&Reference=Welcome&~=

In fact, in rather a strange promotion, Sky Angel promotes Rood as a "Christian teacher" which is something since Michael Rood refers to himself as a Levite, amongst other things and all things Christian as pagan. It is interesting to this writer, that a man who appears to have an aversion to the name of Jesus, who promotes the Shem Tov Matthew over the inspired Greek New Testament scriptures, which he teaches are full of error, who says he was a former member of "the baptist cult" and goes as far to teach that Christians are full of error, is being promoted on a Christian satellite system as a Christian.

In the Sky Angel shows, as in his tours, Michael Rood enlisted the aid of his Karaite friend, Nehemiah Gordon, to help teach. We know Mr. Gordon fully rejects the New Testament and Jesus Christ, which goes against Sky Angel's own statement of faith. Those shows must obviously include the presumption that Jesus was actually a Karaite. In the one promotion, Michael Rood makes the false statements that "the Hebrew version of Matthew, preserved in Europe but virtually unknown in most of the world, tells a very different story - a story that shows how Y'shua taught the Torah from a solidly "Karaite" Jewish perspective". ... Explore the ancient Hebrew text of Matthew, copied a millennium ago by Shem Tov Ibn Shaprut,..."

Michael Rood, although very carefully, has taught that the foundation manuscripts and language of the New Testament was Aramaic or Hebrew, not Greek. From Tape 2 of his tape series, Title: The 70th Week Ministry of the Messiah, Michael states that the Apostle John spoke the language of the Jewish people and  probably didn't know Greek. In spite of Rood's deviant historical facts, we know that Greek was the language of commerce at that time and place. 

Michael states:  

"..John and Matthew read as if they are Hebrew but they are all Greek words--it was originally written in Hebrew, but we have no Hebrew manuscripts of the Gospels. They don't exist. There was a great deal of persecution ...no original text in extant, no original Greek text...all we have are fragments of very old texts, but we don't have any complete texts..."

"what we have are Greek manuscripts..."

Michael Rood constantly undermines the "no original" Greek texts, saying they are false interpretations, because the pagan translators corrupted the writings by not knowing the Hebrew. But he also states there are actual Greek texts, but no Hebrew manuscripts.

In Tape 3 of that series, Michael Rood states that the Greek, "poisons our minds," "Greek translators and scribes changed things". Rood makes it appear that the Bible has  been mistranslated but he'll correct it for us. By Greek translators, he means that the NT particularly was written in Hebrew and Aramaic--not Greek. Paul, by direct revelation of God, wrote in Greek, as did the other apostles.

Michael Rood states in virtually every teaching, something similar to the above or is found in Tape 4 of that same series, "...we can see how they can take the Hebrew and translate it into the Greek language, not fully understanding the feasts, and come up with a morning type situation. Just as the KJ translators did here..."

Regarding the Hebrew Matthew that Rood claims was "the ancient Hebrew text of Matthew, copied a millennium ago by Shem Tov Ibn Shaprut,".  The supposed Hebrew Matthews or Shem Tob Matthew are from the 1400-1500 range CE. Precisely, ShemTob is dated 1380, while DuTillet and Muenster are about 1550. Together they make up the "Middle Ages Matthews" but, they are very different, and are in disagreement with each other in various places, and as one stated, that is one of the ironies. Hugh Schonfeld and James Trimm mostly push DuTillet. Michael Rood and George Howard  promote the Shem Tob version. The Greek Matthew is from the 250-400 CE range. And so it goes. If something is taught entirely from a "solidly Karaite Jewish perspective" as stated by Michael Rood, and that is what is being advocated as sound theology to be embraced, it behooves us to know what that means.

"The World Karaite Movement is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing public awarenes about Biblical Judaism (Karaism)." 19 

In their Kairite Faqs, the following questions are asked and answered ---

Do Karaites accept the entire Hebrew Bible? Yes.;

Do Karaites believe in the New Testament? No.;

Do Karaites believe in Jesus? No. "  20

In their "Karaite Links" is Mordecai Alfandari's, Light of Israel, which is very enlightening for those who love Jesus Christ. Light of Israel is part of the Karaite web site and organization. Alfandari, who had been a leader in the Karaite movement, died in 1999 and Nehemiah Gordon apparently took over as spokesman for the movement: 

"Light of Israel by Mordecai Alfandari"

 

"Learn about the alternative to Rabbanite Judaism and Pagan Christianity, why Jews reject Jesus and the New Testament, how we can be atoned for sins in a period without sacrifices, and much more." 21

In Light of  Israel, among the many anti-Christ, anti-New Testament, anti-Christian articles,  is an article that explains the Karaite belief about Jesus, which is interesting in light of the fact that Michael Rood is promoted as a "messianic karaite rabbi," and works and walks side by side with Nehemiah Gordon who holds these beliefs:

"Jews Should Not Believe in Jesus because:

"1. He was to have saved them from their enemies (Luke 1:69-71), which he DIDN'T!

2. He was to have saved them from their sins (Matthew 1:21), which he DIDN'T!

3. He was to have returned as the reigning King Messiah in that same generation (Matthew 16:27-28), which he DIDN'T!

4. He was to have come at that time, without tarrying (Hebrews 10:37), which he DIDN'T!

5. The true Messiah was to be "David's Son", and Jesus WASN'T!

6. The Servant described in Isaiah 53 (which Christians claim was Jesus) was to have lived a long life and have many children (verse 10), and to have had his share of wealth, (verse 12), which Jesus DIDN'T! (He died poor and childless at the age of 33.) ....

Jews should definitely NOT believe in Jesus, nor should ANYONE for that matter! The general picture obtained from an impartial reading of the so-called New Testament (not to be confused with the New Covenant described in Jeremiah 31:31-34) is one of a self-deluded, would-be prophet who failed to actualize his claims.

Michael Rood stated in a promotion for one of his tours to Israel that, "You are coming to Israel so that I can convert you from a pagan Christian into a Torah loving follower of the Jewish Messiah. " He was in fact stating the wish to convert followers to Jewish and Karaite religious beliefs about Messiah, with the full rejection of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Clearly, Michael Rood wishes to convert "pagan Christians" to "true Karaite Judaism" which rejects Jesus Christ and the New Testament.

The question becomes---how do his beliefs and goals support either the National Religious Broadcasters or Sky Angels stated goals and mission for promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ? And more importantly, how do his views and beliefs align to the Word of God?

In February 2004 Nancy Christopher of Sky Angel, the only Christian satellite system in North America, promoted false prophet Michael Rood's teachings as an author, lecturer, Bible instructor and Messianic moreh or teacher.

"This month, Sky Angel viewers are in for a Rood awakening! Michael Rood, author, lecturer, Bible instructor, Messianic moreh (teacher) and now TV producer and host, will be taking Sky Angel viewers..." [Get Ready for A Rood Awakening, by Nancy Christopher, February 2004 - Sky Angel Guide]

While Sky Angel was promoting Michael Rood, Mr. Rood and his associates were running their own promotion via a press release in their monthly e-letter. Part of it read as follows:

Many of you have been anxiously awaiting the long promised introduction of Michael Rood's teachings "to the world" via national and international television broadcasting. Update: Due to the 2007 controversial breakup of A Rood Awakening Ministries, the organization was split into two groups. One held by Jamie Louis in the original A Rood Awakening! Ministries Oregon office, and one held by Michael Rood and some new staff. Michael Rood launched a new corporation in Michigan, where his new office is, called A Rood Awakening! Ministries International. Two new websites were launched by the Rood camp, one called reallyrood.com in competition with the original aroodawakening.tv, unroododespertar.tv and aroodawakening.com, all of which have since been shut down. The new michaelroodministries.com was launched in direct competition to the original michaelrood.com, which has been shutdown. Jamie Louis also included in his Ya'akovlevi site the name of a new business called Torah to the Nations, based in Oregon. Currently, he is being promoted on Sky Angel as, "biblical historian Michael Rood." While most of his Biblical understanding came from The Way International, most of Michael Rood's archeological based information came from the late Ron Wyatt, a self - proclaimed devout Seventh Day Adventist who made all manner of claims. It was using one of Wyatt's videos that helped launch Michael Rood's current theology in Two Harbors, MN, in 1995. He also promoted Wyatt from his website, as "The Biblical archaeological discoveries of Ron Wyatt "and  spent time with Wyatt in Nashville prior to his death.

Almost all of Wyatt's claims are refuted by actual archaeologists, scientists, Bible teachers, theologians, Israeli antiquity officials, and others. Wyatt claimed to have obtained licenses to dig from specific Israeli officials, which proved false. Some of the claims and findings that Ron Wyatt put forward and which Michael Rood has assimilated into his own agenda, are the alleged finding of :

Noah's Ark; "Anchor stones" used by Noah for the ark; tombs of Noah and his wife; location of Sodom and Gomorrah; Sulfur balls from the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah (which Michael Rood has 'samples' of); The point of the Israelites' crossing of the Red Sea in Exodus; Debris from the pursuing army of Pharaoh at the bottom of the sea;  The site of the Biblical Mt. Sinai, which he claimed to be in Saudi Arabia; The actual rock Moses struck to release water at Kadesh ; A chamber at the end of a maze of tunnels under Jerusalem containing artifacts from Solomon's temple; The Ark of the Covenant; The stones on which God carved the Ten Commandments; The exact site of the crucifixion of Jesus; An earthquake crack under the crucifixion site made at the time of the death of Jesus; Blood of Jesus, which dripped down this crack onto the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant, located in a chamber directly beneath the cross--which Wyatt claimed to have found and also has claimed to have samples of the blood.

While promoting his claims, Ron Wyatt 's theology became paramount as his conclusions were rooted in the Seventh Day Adventist beliefs and that of the alleged visions and teachings of Ellen G White, the SDA's only prophet. Ellen White's prophecies validated the identity of the Seventh Day Adventists as the Remnant True Church. [www.isitso.org/guide/wyatt.html ] Her teachings are viewed as inspired as were the writers of the Bible. The Bible must be interpreted by SDA to harmonize with her writings [Seventh Day Adventism Renounced, D. M. Canright, 1914] . Ron Wyatt presented that theology and claims in two ways. To SDA adherents, their theology was presented and confirmed in conjunction with his claims, but to non-SDA--it all became an archaeological proof of Biblical events--regardless of how skewed or un-Biblical the statements.

For example: is there any Scripture that states Jesus' blood dripped down a crack into a chamber beneath the cross? Or that the Biblically recorded earthquake caused a crack specifically under the crucifixion site? The answer is clearly "no," yet many would believe that it must have been that way, because people like Wyatt and Michael Rood say it was that way.  

Wyatt claimed that many of his finds were related to direct revelation or divine intervention and that he had direct visitations from both angels and Jesus Christ. If he saw Jesus Christ in person, , then Christ has "returned" and we all have missed the event. The Scriptures are clear.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be...29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Wyatt's alleged discovery of the Ark of the Covenant and the Ten Commandment stones are part of the "end time prophecy" as it is taught by the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. That meant that the stones of the Ten Commandments would be "brought out" for the world to see at a specific time, as a witness to the world of the True Religion.  The concept is that for SDA, who believe that Sunday worship is actually taking the the Mark of the Beast, in the very near future the Anti-Christ and his system will take over and rule the world. He will impose the "Mark of the Beast" aka Sunday worship on all mankind, and those who refuse to accept that mark will be martyred.

Specifically the SDA's Advent Review of 1850 has stated: "Sunday-keeping is an institution of the first beast, and ALL who submit to obey this institution emphatically worship the first beast and receive his mark, 'the mark of the beast.' .... Those who worship the beast and his image by observing the first day are certainly idolaters, as were the worshippers of the golden calf." [Advent Review Extra, pp10,11, August, 1850] And Ellen White wrote in 'Great Controversy,' "The change of the Sabbath is the sign or mark of the authority of the Romish church." ... Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Contradictions in 'storytelling' generally mean something is not right. Ron Wyatt's claims involved conflicting reports, including the online record put forward by his wife, Mary Nell Wyatt. Mary Wyatt detailed the events of the alleged discovery of the chamber which Wyatt claimed to hold the Ark of the Covenant. It is posted as an official record on the Wyatt Archaeological Research website and in that detailed telling of the events, there is no mention of angels. In May of 2000, regarding the same event and time period, on another "Wyatt Discoveries" site, Anchorstone.com, Wyatt's former associate, Bill Fry, goes into great detail about Wyatt's claims that he saw four angels in the chamber. He said that they "cleaned up" the chamber and set out the Temple artifacts and they then removed the cover of the Ark exposing the Ten Commandment stones, and Wyatt was told by one of them to remove the stones. He allegedly discussed with that same angel numerous times how he should deal with the discovery. The claimed pictures he took were useless and the video that supposedly turned out --he reported to have turned over to the angels in the chamber for safekeeping. And all must remain hidden until the appointed time--except Michael Rood discusses it on his tour itinerary, "unofficially."

Michael Rood also falsely prophesied that the Ark of the Covenant would be revealed on Tishri 10, Yom Kippur or sunset November 6, 2000, according to his errant and occult based and many times corrected, "Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar" in his main teaching tape of "Prophecies in the Feasts of the Lord." which was discussed on a pro Rood website. But from his book, the Mystery of Iniquity:

"...Israel entered into a covenant that caused them to pledge land to the UN that had been given to Israel by an everlasting covenant with God. That covenant was made in response to the UN's promise for peace and safety from their enemies.

God will annul this covenant when the overflowing scourge of troops passes through the land on Tishri 1, 6001 (October 29, 2000). The Messiah will confirm the covenant that was made in his blood, when the Ark of the Covenant is brought forth at the height of the invasion of Israel...This is it! When Judah takes Jerusalem and the Ark of the Covenant is brought forth we are eighty-four prophetic months from the Day of Atonement on the sea of fire and glass.

Aviv 1, 6001 (May 5, 2000 at sundown in Jerusalem) began the Day of the Lord - The 7th Millennium. Tishri 1, 6001 (October 29, 2000) begins the fulfillment of the fall Feasts of the LORD. Tishri 10 will be the confirmation of the covenant by Messiah. That begins the last Shevua (7 years) prophesied by the Prophet Daniel. The Latter Rain outpouring of the double portion of Holy Spirit will occur on Tishri 22, at the time of the water oblation on the Last Great Day of the Feast of Tabernacles..."

And we have him writing a letter on September 7, 2001 :

"...September 7^th, Elul 18, 6001 - 21 days to Yom Kippur..."

"On the Day of Atonement - the day of the national redemption of Israel, the Ark of the Covenant will be revealed. The Ark, which is the testimony buried in the earth which confirms the Covenant made in the blood of Messiah, will be revealed at the culmination of this war. ....The world will be in a panic in a few short days, but you will know what to do. If you do not, gather your family and friends and watch the following videos in order:

1. The Great Secret of Solomon´s Temple
2. The Feasts of the LORD and their Prophetic Fulfillment (10 hours)
3. The Mystery of Solomon´s Laver ..."

In Tape 3 of The 70th Week Ministry of the Messiah, Rood stated: "...we never [had the whole story] until the Ark of the Covenant --now the whole thing can be told--because of an earthquake." 

And in Tape 4 of that series, "Now the whole thing can be told. " Michael Rood states that John 'didn't see the earthquake that opened the ground 20 feet below the cross, below which Jeremiah hid the ark of the covenant in a cave 600 years before." "He didn't see that the top of that stone case was fractured and moved off and when the blood and water poured out from Messiahs side it poured out and down that earthquake fracture 20 feet through that bedrock on to the west end of the Ark of the Covenant. He didn't see it all not at that moment," "..When the Ark of the Covenant is brought out on the day of atonement when the 7th millennium begins".

He teaches that the Jews will know by the reappearance of the ark--but the Bible says they will know when they see Him return. And he states that the Jews will be given the double portion of the Holy Spirit at that time.

..."without understanding the feasts the blood of Jesus is just a few empty words that we can't really fully relate to, unless we really understand the picture that was put in place from the very beginning."

"Seventh millennium begins--which will be sundown September 11, 1999--that is when the intermediate fulfillment of the fall feasts will kick in. ... Seven years later we will see the final culmination because at the beginning of the seventh millennium is when he the messiah confirms the covenant that was made in his blood--that is when the ark of the covenant comes forth...

"Ten days later on the day of atonement, the most Holy day in the entire year ...the ark of the covenant is to be brought forth. That is when the covenant was made in the that is when the testimony that God gave of his son,  that is greater than any testimony we can give, will be brought forth. his blood hit the ark on passover, not day of atonement."

"...Ark of Covenant  Will come out [of the cave] It will come out  by the power of God. The Israeli government attempted to bring the Ark of the Covenant out saying that they were going to take it to a more secure place. The six levites they sent in there to bring it out all died before they reached the cave entrance. They were found dead on the ground. ...The concept of needing to find a more secure place is kind of moot. Because it does say in 2 Maccabees 2 that Jeremiah told the priest to mark out the way so they could find their way back, told them to stop doing this, stop marking the way....the Ark of the Covenant must remain in the secret place and the Lord God will bring it out. And his glory will be seen above the mercy seat..."

From Anchorstone.com, we see another prophetic statement gone awry, since Ron Wyatt died in 1999.

From a transcript of a sermon given by Ron Wyatt in New Zealand in 1999, Wyatt again recounted his claims, presented Ellen White theology and then specific events:

"...I found the blood of Christ, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, upon the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant, the earthly throne of God.  And it was quite obvious that that blood fell upon the mercy seat on the Passover ...Now this chamber where the Ark of the Covenant was placed - that is the temple of God on this earth. The Ark of the Covenant is His earthly throne. And although the Shekinah glory is not present there any longer, it has not been abandoned. The four angels that were placed on duty at the time the 10 commandments were put in the ark [4 S.G. p.102] are still there.  That chamber has been cleaned out.  All the furnishings of the tabernacle (of the temple - which were the same) are set in perfect order. The only difference is that the Ark of the Covenant is sitting against the end of the chamber wall.  The staves have been removed.  And to my understanding that means it's not going to ever be moved again.  And behind the Ark of the Covenant is a beautiful wall of transparent crystal, glass, or something and the colors of the rainbow are radiating out above the earthly throne of God.  I haven't seen the one in heaven but I know it's described as a rainbow over it.

The term "Shekinah glory" is not a Biblical term, but rather a kabbalist or rabbinic term referring to God's presence. God's Temple? Blood on a mercy seat to prove those who believe Christ have been redeemed? The Word of God and faith are true. The fanciful and unproved claims of Wyatt, foolish speculation by Rood and others is worthless, other than to prove that false teachers and false prophets abound--which both by their own words have proven themselves to be.

That person also believed that Ron Wyatt was chosen to sit in Moses seat and give us latter day revelation. Odd, or perhaps not, we have Michael Rood "sitting on the seat of Moses" and teaching. From his Israel Tour promotion:

Incidentally, this 'Ark of the Covenant' report says that even the video didn't work, which Wyatt claimed to have left behind in the cavern.

Michael Rood promotes the writings of Richard Rives as well as having been on tour with him. Richard Rives, who had worked with Ron Wyatt for many years, became head of Wyatt's organization after Wyatt's death. Concerning ... his supposed discovery of Noah’s Ark and the Ark of the Covenant...His Noah’s Ark site had been examined and long abandoned by Ark hunters and geologists as a natural formation before Wyatt and others came to the spot, and it has continued to be proven to be such... There are eight other smaller formations like it in the area, so if this is Noah’s Ark there must have been a fleet of them!

As to the Ark of the Covenant, Wyatt says that he found it along with the Table of Shewbread, the Golden Altar of Incense, and the Menorah (a seven-branched candlelabra) ...in a cave inside the hill called “Gordon’s Calvary” in eastern Jerusalem. Wyatt even says he scrapped blood off of the Mercy Seat of the Ark, had it analyzed and found it to have half the normal number of human chromosomes (therefore, the blood of the Virgin born Christ). He further says that the Ark was positioned in such a way so that when Christ was crucified His blood fell through a hole in the cliff above and landed on the Mercy Seat (thus fulfilling the atonement typified by this object). While such a story thrills audiences, “Gordon’s Calvary” cannot be the place of Christ’s crucifixion. It has no archaeological support, ...

“Gordon’s Calvary” at the site of the Protestant “Garden Tomb” is part of a complex of First Temple tombs (about 600 years before Christ), but the New Testament says Jesus tomb was “newly hewn” .Wyatt’s “discoveries” have been rejected by real archaeologists not because, as Wyatt contends, they are jealous, or lack faith, but because his stories are unsubstantiated by facts. If facts are the basis for our faith (Christ actually died and rose again), then it is no lack of faith to demand of those with incredible claims that they be supported with evidence. And so we have the information foundations for Michael Rood, "historian" and his sources for "archaeological evidence". If the claims of Wyatt are viewed as unsubstantiated or proven false, why would anyone follow Michael Rood who is using Wyatt's information for his 'ministry'?

Michael Rood also believes that Jewish people, specifically in Israel, know more about the Scriptures and interpret them more accurately, than those who know Jesus Christ and who believe the New Testament. From a Christian perspective, is it possible for a person to reject the New Testament and Jesus Christ, and have a Biblical understanding that could be utilized by Christians?

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? Michael Rood views the name of Jesus Christ as being from faulty and errant Greek translators and a reference to Greek gods, and he rather uses the made up name of Yahshua. And we see that, in Colossians ch 2 v 6, As [you] ye have therefore received [the Messiah Yahshua ] and again I will use the Lords real name, the name that Gabriel the angel told his mother Miriam and Joseph to call him, Yahshua, because Yahshua means Yah, which is the ..poetic short version of Yahweh and  hushau which is salvation. Every time you say Yahshua you are saying, Yah our God saves.  Yahshua. And so, rather than a Greek transliteration in which really does not keep the real true sense of the word I will use his real name. Yahshua. And it's real easy to do this because Joshua has made it into our language....His name was able to make it into our language for the most part completely intact. Except the letter J. The letter J is is, fairly recent, it's only about 400 years old and even over in Europe today where it originated, J's are sounded out as Y's. They are still  ...and Joshua is not Joshua, it's Yahshua. He has the same name as the Savior. The Savior does not have an extremely unusual name. There are many people that have been named Yahshua, which means our God saves. Yahshua. ..So when I say the name of Yahshua, I'm saying the most beautiful name in heaven and earth. And you'll notice I do not pronounce it as the way that many messianic Jews have been raised to pronounce it as Yeshua, which completely misses the point of Yah. The name Yahshua is not found in the Old Testament writings in Hebrew. What you will find there is Jehoshua [Joshua]. The long form of the name Joshua is written in the book by that name, and earlier books as yod-hey-vav-shin-ayin or also as yod-hey-vav-shin-vav-ayin [3091], which the Jewish scholars transliterate as Yehoshua utilizing the vowel pointing's from the Masoretic text. In the Aramaic portion of the book of Ezra 5:2, we find the name Yeshua or Jeshua transliterated from the Aramaic letters Yod-Shin-Vav-Ayin [3443]. In the Hebrew portion of the book of Ezra, you will find a name written in Hebrew as yod-shin-vav-ayin [3442] which the Jewish scholars transliterate as Yeshua or Jeshua. [# from Strong's] 

For example:

Ezra 2:2 "Which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua , Nehemiah , Seraiah ...."

The names Yehoshua and Yeshua are the two which are commonly accepted by Jewish believers today, as the Hebrew / Aramaic Name of the Messiah. 

Yeshua [short form] for Joshua or Yehoshua [long form], translates into Greek as Iesous. Jesus is a transliteration of Iesous [Greek] and it came about from the Hebrew/Aramaic. We have no problem with the Name Yeshua, as it means "He is salvation" in Hebrew. 

However, Michael Rood does have a problem with the name of Jesus and Yeshua, as do many of his associates in the 'Two House" and Sacred Name camps, where Mr. Rood has been a speaker at their various Hodu's.

For example, kabbalist Ed Nydle. Nydle, also known as "Rabbi Ed Nydle" or "Levi bar Ido", is a board member of Union Of Nazarene Yisraelite Congregations, along with Moshe Koniuchowsky of Your Arms to Israel (YATI) and Tom Mitchell. He was also former Vice President of YATI.  Brian Samtur, in charge of Music and Cantor for Your Arms to Israel (YATI), also does the music for Michael Rood's tapes. YATI is an organization Michael Rood has been associated with, a speaker at their various events and promoted by them. Marshall Koniuchowsky refers to Christians as "xtians", the church as "kirche" a derogatory term and uses other anti-Christ rhetoric.

Michael Rood uses the name Yahweh for the Father, and he has been teaching his followers that you can get healed and saved by calling on THAT name. Not the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and God manifest in the flesh, but what he terms is the 'real' name of the Father. Yet we know that if one does not acknowledge the Son--there is no access to the Father. 

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Michael Rood is one of many who is culling the Christian churches for those weak in the faith and who do not know the Scriptures. While there are many false teachers and false prophets under the banner of Christianity, it should be no surprise as there are many warnings about such given by Jesus and the Apostles. But Michael Rood and his "teachings" are not the answer. Rather, studying God's Word and applying it to all is what we are called to do.
