Week Ministry of the Messiah, Michael Rood uses Yahshua to replace Jesus
throughout these tapes. In this example he changes and adds to the Word of God
to fit his teaching ideas.
ch 7 of John v8 "Go up to the feast.
And the Messiah
said I go not up yet to the feast. My time is not yet full come...and when his
brethren were gone up then went he also up...went up ..in secret
He went up in disguise, he clothed himself and when he went up
no one knew...
[John 7]v29 "I am from Him and He has sent
me"
He begins teaching, he is in the temple, no one can take him,
He stays in
the temple and he's among all these people so that he will not get trapped, he
will not be caught alone...and now He says He has sent me.
Sent me or the the sent one is
Shiloam--the apostle and part of the Feast of tabernacles is what happens at the
pool of shiloam...
Michael Rood added the idea in John 7:8, that Jesus disguised himself so that He would not be noticed.
The Scriptures do not record that. He merely went on His own,
"in secret." In John 7:29, Michael Rood eliminates the first
phrase which Jesus spoke concerning His relation to God. The
actual verse reads "John 7:29 But I know him: for I am
from him, and he hath sent me."

It was shown that Michael Rood did not
have any understanding of the Hebrew language in,
The Creator's Calendar
and the Restoration of All Things And Raiders of the Lost
Book: New Discoveries in the Hebrew Text of Matthew.
It was noted in that article that Jamie Louis stated in
2003, that Michael Rood could not read Hebrew. "Since no one else in the room could
read Hebrew, they all waited expectantly while Nehemiah
proceeded..."

The Zechariah Thermonuclear War article
was initially written in January 2002, and was updated
later that year. The question this writer must ask is: How could
Michael Rood have a comprehension of Hebrew in 2002, if Jamie
Louis said he could not read Hebrew in 2003?
From that January 2002 article, Michael
Rood reveals how he translates 'Hebrew' for his teachings, which
is either through direct revelation or his
"free-translation" "MIV", meaning his own words are replacing
the Word of God. If his alleged direct revelation was from
God, it would be accurate:
"...Now you will see how my mind
works as I have re-translated this same phrase without the
help of any study aids.
I,
Zechariah, looked up and saw a flying scroll in the sky.
"I did not have the Hebrew text as I
lay in bed reading this, but I expected that the word ‘roll’
was from the Hebrew word ‘megillah’...
Let’s watch the picture develop.
2 And
he said unto me, What seest thou? KJV
My translation:
2 And
the angel that was showing me these things said,
What do
you see? MIV
...I must remind you of the scenario.
I am laying in bed on the Sabbath during the Feast of
Tabernacles in Jerusalem. I am scribbling in the oversized
margins of my freshly printed 8.5 X 11 inch paper, as I am
translating this text without so much as a dictionary with
me. ...'"
I am seeing a picture
develop that I had never entertained in the thirty years that
I have been studying the prophet. I came to this verse, sat
up in bed and shouted out, “This is not a woman – this is a
fire. This is not a woman in a basket – this is a fire in a
container.” Going down a couple verses I said, “These are not
two women, these are two fires.”
Now, I know what a
hare-brained idea is. I have had more than my share. But I
saw something that did not come from my mind at that moment.
I have had a few experiences in my life when I was given a
revelation so clear that I can still tell you the day, hour
and moment that it occurred...
I got out of bed and sat at my desk
as I re-wrote the entire translation onto a fresh sheet of
paper. ...I started by saying that I was going to do something
very strange – I am going to replace the word ‘woman’ with the
word ‘fire’. David was not very happy with that idea, “You
can’t do that – what is the Hebrew word?” David is an
attorney, and his yeshiva training was not going to allow for
any nonsense. I told him, “I don’t know what the Hebrew word
is - I just want you to listen to what I am seeing here...."

In a letter to this website, from a
reader which I posted to the
SeekGod.ca Letters March 19,
2005, it was stated:
"Looking back to, "The Mystery of
Iniquity", and an additional teaching that he later released
about Zechariah 5 titled, "Zechariah's Thermonuclear War", I
found some of his assertions questionable in his
interpretation of the Hebrew scriptures. This was in reference
to the word rendered in the English text as "woman" and his
substitution of it with the word meaning "fire". He had stated
that by reading the passage utilizing an alternate vowel
pointing, that it could be translated as an offering made by
fire.
Here is what he stated:
"That is the moment that I knew that
this had come by revelation, and not by my mind. I was not
smart enough to know this, nor did I have the tools in my hand
to figure it out. ‘Aisha - fire offering’ and ‘Isha - woman’
are the same consonants in Hebrew - the context determines the
meaning. The Karaites in the middle ages who developed the
Masoretic text, used the vowel point that interpreted this
word as ‘woman’ because they too had no idea of it’s prophetic
significance. A fire offering in a flying container that
incinerates buildings throughout Israel did not make any sense
a thousand years ago – but neither did an evil woman in a lead
lidded basket! For over 1,000 years, every translation of the
Hebrew Scriptures on the planet has been derived from the same
Karaite Masorah – with the same dot under the Aleph – a dot
that did not exist in the original text. From that same text,
every translation, in every language has been resultant."
It appears that his reasoning for
doing the word substitution, was based on his belief that the
Masoretic scribes who he referred to as Karaite, may have
incorrectly pointed the text because they did not understand
the true meaning of the passage. I remembered that I also had
some questions about the calculations that he used in this
teaching a few years back, and if he had based his equations
on the dimensions of an actual Biblical ephah, and a Biblical
cubit. I say this because it was not clear to me how he could
have possibly arrived at his dimensions, which he proposed as
being a nuclear missile..."
I contacted the reader and asked if
he would consider elaborating further on his earlier comments,
and specifically detail how Michael Rood changed the Hebrew of
the Old Testament to fit his own version of truth. This is what
he stated.
In Michael Rood's explanation of
Zechariah 5:7, he changes the word "woman" (ishah <H0802>) which
is a feminine noun, to "fire offering" (isheh <H0801>) which
is a masculine noun, by negating the vowel pointings that were
written in the Hebrew text by the Masoretic scribes.
Let's start by reviewing Michael Rood's
personal interpretation of Zechariah 5 one line at a time,
starting at verse seven:
7 Then I saw a mass of lead
and a
fire offering, as it was lifted up and secured in
the container.
While it is correct that the words used
for woman (ishah) and fire offering (isheh) have the same
consonants (aleph - shin - hey), his choice of fire offering
does not fit in
with the overall contextual meaning of chapter 5 when you review
the surrounding passages in the Hebrew text. There are evident
gender problems starting with verse 7 because the original word
ishah is feminine but the word that Michael Rood
chooses, isheh is masculine. The majority of the words in
that verse are feminine, and the verb that is rendered in
English as sitting in that passage is yoshevet in the
Hebrew, which is also the feminine form.
Now here is Michael Rood's interpretation of Zechariah 5:8:
8 And he said, “This
fire
that you see being put in the container, is an evil
fire
offering.” Then he secured
the fire
offering in the container
and put the lead mass in the opening.
In verse eight we find in the Hebrew
rish'ah which is a feminine noun, and is rendered in English
as wickedness. Michael Rood replaces it with
fire offering
or isheh, which is the same masculine noun that he used
in verse seven in to replace ishah or “woman”. In verse nine, we have another problem that
confronts Michael Rood's rewriting of the scripture, in that
ishah now has an irregular plural that occurs there. In the Hebrew text of
Zechariah 5:9 we find the phrase shetayim nashiym. Both
words are feminine plural, and are translated as “two women”,
with the word following “two women”, yotzot, being
feminine plural as well.
Let's look at Michael Rood's personal
interpretation of the verse, in which he substitutes “two
fires”:
9 Then I looked up and saw as
two fires
came out of the container, and the
fires
caused
the wind to lift the container by its
‘stork like’ wings, from the earth into the sky.
Even
though the word for woman ishah (alef-shin-hey) without vowel
pointings could be confused with the word for fire offering isheh,
the plural nun-shin-yod-mem, or nashiym most certainly could not.
Michael Rood either ignored all of the surrounding Hebrew text,
which would be contrary to his 'revelation', or he has little or
no understanding of the Hebrew language.
Michael Rood also stated in his
article:
“For over 1,000 years, every
translation of the Hebrew Scriptures on the planet has been
derived from the same Karaite Masorah – with the same dot
under the Aleph – a dot that did not exist in the original
text. From that same text, every translation, in every
language has been resultant."
The chirik or 'dot' as Michael Rood
refers to it, does not govern the difference in pronunciation
between the two words ishah and isheh as he has
errantly stated, because both words have a chirik under the
aleph. What governs this vocalization, is that ishah has
a kamats under the shin, while isheh has a segol.
Another area that we should explore, is how this passage is
rendered in the Septuagint.
There have been many theories about when the Septuagint (LXX)
was translated from Hebrew to Greek. Some say two centuries
before the Messiah walked the earth. Others say two centuries or
so after. One thing that all of the scholars will agree on, is
that it was definitely translated before the ninth or tenth
century CE. Since the Hebrew texts were not pointed by the
Masoretic scribes before this time, it means that the Septuagint
was most likely translated from an unpointed text, which would
eliminate the possibility of any scribal error as suggested by
Michael Rood, in reference to the vowel pointing of the word
isheh (woman) in the Masoretic text. Although I do not
personally use the Septuagint as a translation, I do believe
that it is an important historical document, that can be
utilized when doing textual comparisons.
Let's take a look at how this passage is rendered in the
Interlinear Septuagint:
Zechariah 5:
7 And behold, a talent of lead was
being lifted away. And behold [woman
<G1135> one <G1520>] sat
down <G2521> in the midst of the measure basket.
8 And he said, This is lawlessness <G458>. And he tossed it
into the midst of the measure basket, and tossed
the stone of lead into her <G4750> mouth!
9 And I lifted my eyes, and I saw, and behold, two <G1417>
women
<G1135> going forth, and the wind was in
their wings, and these had wings as wings of the hoopoe
bird; and they took up the measure basket
between the earth and the heaven.
10 And I said to the angel, the one speaking to me, Where
are these carrying the measure basket? 11 And
he said to me, They build for it a house in the land of
Babylon, and prepare, and they shall put there upon in
preparation place.
What we have above is the Greek
translation, which was most likely translated from an unpointed
Hebrew text centuries before the Masorites developed their
system of vowel pointing, that reflects the same understanding
of the words as
the pointed Masoretic Text many centuries later. Because of
this, we can assume that the way the words were understood by the
Hebraic Jews, and the Hellenic Jews, was the same in both
communities, as that is what is illustrated by these two textual
witnesses from Hebrew and Greek.
As we can clearly see in the above passage from the Greek LXX
translation, the words in the Hebrew text that were translated
as woman/women, are also rendered as woman/women in the Greek
LXX translation.
If we review the Latin
Vulgate, which was translated from early unpointed Hebrew and
Aramaic texts by Jerome between
382 and 405 CE, we will see that this text is also in agreement
with the
Greek LXX, and the pronunciation
demonstrated by the vowel pointings in the later Masoretic
Hebrew texts. In the translation of the Vulgate from Hebrew to
Latin, it also renders the words in question as woman and women
as seen below highlighted in red.
5:7 et ecce talentum plumbi
portabatur et ecce mulier
una sedens in medio amphorae
5:8 et dixit haec est
impietas et proiecit eam in medio amphorae et misit massam
plumbeam in os eius
5:9 et
levavi oculos meos et vidi et ecce duae
mulieres egredientes et
spiritus in alis earum et habebant alas quasi alas milvi et
levaverunt amphoram inter terram et caelum
What we have, is multiple
witnesses provided by many early texts in multiple languages
that clearly confirm that the Masoretic Hebrew text was pointed
correctly by the scribes, and that woman and women are the
correct renderings.

When you compare the actual verses to
the KJV and look above to the Interlinear Septuagint, we see the
differences that Michael Rood has made:
Zechariah 5:7 Then I saw a
mass of lead and a fire offering, as it was lifted up
and secured in the container. 8 And he said, “This
fire
that you see being put in the container, is an evil fire
offering.” Then he secured the fire offering in the container
and put the lead mass in the opening. 9 Then I looked up and
saw as two fires came out of the container, and the fires
caused the wind to lift the container by its ‘stork like’
wings, from the earth into the sky. [MIV]
Zechariah 5:7
And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is
a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah. 8 And he said,
This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah;
and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there
came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they
had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. [KJV]
Zechariah's Thermonuclear War, which
Michael Rood had updated, and then has since removed some of the
updated lead in, also shows his MIV translating choices:
"...Weeks later I was in Jerusalem and
another layer was peeled away from my eyes as I read what
Zechariah saw in this continuing vision, the same thing that
you and I saw on the television…
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes,
and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from
between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of
brass. KJV
... Brass
is used specifically in judging man. These are two man-made
mountains from which come the war chariots. I chose to render
Zechariah’s statement as follows:
Then I turned and saw four war chariots
coming out from between two man-made mountains.
Those two
man-made mountains were purchased by a Jewish firm just weeks
before they were struck by two fires that were carried on the
stork like wings of two passenger jets. Judgment was coming
to America. Out of the smoke of these collapsing man-made
mountains come the war chariots. “America’s New War” had
begun...."

And this quote from that same article,
showing Michael
Rood changing the Word
of God yet again:
"The
land of Israel, the house of the LORD, will be judged first. But the judgment will continue into the Christian world, which
has been profusely swearing falsely."
We are reminded,
1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man
suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him
glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house
of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of
them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the
ungodly and the sinner appear?
We are also admonished:
2 Peter 2:19 We have also a more sure
word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as
unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn,
and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is
of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost.
2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even
as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall
bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought
them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of
whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make
merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Example: Changing the
Hebrew of the Old Testament
It appears that not only
does Michael Rood believe that the Greek New Testament is full
of translation errors, but he also believes this about the
Hebrew/Aramaic Masoretic text which makes up the Hebrew TeNaKh,
or Old Testament. He has not openly stated this belief about the
OT text directly as he has with the Greek, but his actions of
continually trying to alter the OT text demonstrates this
belief. By this action, Michael Rood eliminates any reliable
witness concerning the Word of God, so now “direct revelation”
becomes his preferred source of understanding the texts. For
example:
Malachi 4:2 "But unto
you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up
as calves of the stall."
Rood's version: "The Son of Righteousness will arise
with healing in his wings."
What the text actually says: "the Sun of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings."
"Sun" >Hebrew for 08121 shemesh {sheh'-mesh}
from an unused root meaning to be brilliant
1) sun
a) sun
b) sunrise, sun-rising, east, sun-setting, west (of direction)
c) sun (as object of illicit worship)

Of the many false, incorrect, changing
of the Word of God statements Michael Rood has also taught in
The 70th Week Ministry of the Messiah audio tape series, are these examples:
Tape 1
"...I will use the Lords real name,
the name that Gabriel the angel told his mother Miriam and
Joseph to call him, Yahshua,
because Yahshua means Yah, which is the ..poetic short version of Yahweh
and hushua which is salvation. Every time you say Yahshua you are saying,
Yah our God saves. Yahshua. And so, rather than a Greek transliteration in
which really does not keep the real true sense of the word I will use his real
name. Yahshua. ....His name was able to make it into our language for the most part
completely intact. Except the letter J. The letter J is is, fairly recent, it's
only about 400 years old and even over in Europe today where it originated, J's
are sounded out as Y's. They are still ...and Joshua is not Joshua, it's Yahshua. He has the same name as the Savior. The Savior does not have an
extremely unusual name. There are many people that have been named Yahshua,
which means our God saves. Yahshua. And we see that in Hebrew names the name of
God appears many many times. Eliyah, Elijah...So when I say the name of Yahshua,
...This is the name by
which you must be saved. So I Like to pronounce it correctly. And you'll notice
I do not pronounce it as the way that many messianic Jews have been raised to
pronounce it as Yeshua, which completely misses the point of Yah. It is not
Y'eshua, the emphasis is not on salvation, the emphasis is on Yah. The name of
God Yahshua. because it is our God whose name is emphasized in every Hebrew
name. That is where the emphasis is.
"It's not up to our own personal interpretation., well what do we think Jesus
would do... he'd respond to his real name Yahshua...."
Tape 2
"...the time of the Gentiles is about
to come to a close--the Messiah's born in the Biblical year
4000, this year is the year 6000, Tishri 15...Sundown October 6 this last year, was the
Messiah's 2000 birthday. Next year, tishri 1, coming up on it, 210 days from
now, that's 6001, that's when the Seventh Millennium, the day of the millennium
of the Lord begins."
States that John 6:3,4 is
mistranslated, because Jesus would have gone to the Feast of
Passover.
John 6:3 And Jesus went up into a
mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

So I believe that Luke continued on accurately,
I believe that the Greeks
added in Barachias. So again, you gotta look at the culture you got to
understand in the light of the Torah and of the Nevi'im and if you understand the
history then other things will fit into place. But if you don't understand the
history then you've got the star of Bethlehem being some kind of Tinkerbell that
floats over town and you know nothing makes sense. It turns into kind of a
ludicrous fairytale through the mind of western gentiles, who are completely
divorced from their roots..
But that is what Yahweh said would happen in the last days. The
Gentiles would say we have inherited lies. They would confess it they
would admit it and say, Teach us. You know let us grab your tzitzit. .. a
brother has a tzitzit. ...stand up so everyone can see a tzitzit. The wings on
his garment has the commandments...commandment in numbers that
you are to put that ribbon of blue that thread of blue on the
fringes on the corner of your garment and it is to remind you
to keep the commandments..."
"....They called for a spear, they
brought a spear up, they plunged it into his side, ripped his
side open, and John standing there at the foot of the cross,
for the first time in 19 chapters stopped the entire narration
and said that, "I John saw it. Blood and water spilled,
poured from the side I John saw it. I bear record. "
What did he bear record of ? What was
he saying? He didn't give us a detail then. But in 1 John ch
5, he gave us more of the detail. And once the ark of the
covenant was found then we could understand what they were
saying. All the clues have been there, in the Scripture all of
this time but until the ark was found , we never knew one of
the most important rehearsals that was done every year on the
day of atonement when the high priest went in and sprinkled
the blood on the west end , the east end , thank you, the east
end of the ark of the covenant and never let the blood of
bulls and goats on the west end.
Now the whole thing could be told. "

"Now the whole thing can be told."
"Because what John saw as he was the only disciple
who was there through the whole crucifixion. He stood there and watched the
whole thing. He was there with Miriam , mother of Yahshua, and he was there to
comfort her and he saw the sky go black.
He saw when the Messiah died, the
earth quaked and the rocks rent. He saw the ground split open
at the foot of the cross that really destroyed the cross hole
in which that cross was put. He saw the ground rip open but he
didn't see that is ripped open 20 feet straight down to the
bedrock. And ripped open the roof of the cave in which Jeremiah
had secreted the ark of the covenant, and put it in a stone
case, 600 years before.
He didn't see that the top of that stone case was fractured and moved off and
when the blood and the water from the Messiah's side came out it poured it poured out and down
that earthquake crack 20 feet through that bedrock on to the west end of the
ark of the covenant. He didn't see it all right at that moment. But in 1 John he
said, "There are three that bear record in the earth, IN the earth. The Spirit
and the water and the blood, in these three agree."
If we have received the testimony of
men the testimony that God gave of His Son is greater than the
testimony of men. And this is the testimony that God gave of
His Son. When this testimony comes forth , when the ark of the
covenant is brought out, on the day of atonement, once the
seventh millennium begins, this will shake up the world.
Because Israel, the Jews will see the testimony that God gave
of His Son and when they see that, it will shake them to the
core of their being. They will know the proof that God and the
testimony that God gave of His Son will be of such that they
will weep and wail for He whom they have pierced. They will
weep and wail as one weeps for the death of their only
son. And God will pour out the Spirit of grace and
supplication on His people . They will get the double
outpouring of the Holy Spirit. For the promises made unto them
and their children...."
States Mary went to the tomb "at dusk"--not
dawn--and states the Greek is translated wrong:
"...We can see how they can take
the Hebrew and translate it into the Greek language, not fully understanding the
feasts, and come up with a morning type situation. Just as the KJ translators
did here...in every Greek text the word here is dusk."
"Dusk is evening at the end of the
day--we need to understand the feasts---we don't need to think about the little
details that indicate the other way because they are translations of
translations of translations"
"We have inherited lies, we have
cried out to Israel and said we want to know, teach us the truth. As we are then
again attached into the root, the life giving root of the messiah, that is
where, finally the Scriptures become clear. Because the New Testament is a
Jewish book."
"....Without understanding the feasts
the
blood of Jesus is just a few empty words that we can't really fully relate to,

testimony that God gave of his son, that is greater than any testimony we
can give, will be brought forth. his blood hit the ark on passover, not the day of
atonement."
"...ark of covenant Will come out
[of the cave] It will come out by the power of God. The Israeli govt.
attempted to bring the ark of the covenant out saying that they were going to
take it to a more secure place. The six Levites they sent in there to bring it
out all died before they reached the cave entrance. They were
found dead on the ground..."
Along with the proven false prophecies,
Michael Rood gets zero for scholarship and zero
for changing the Word of God, conjecture, speculation and lack
of documentation and being unable to, "Prove all things."
Amongst his many false statements, everyone abandoned Christ,
all the apostles, including John, and including his family.
Jesus said it would happen and it was prophesied it would
happen.
Mt 26:31 Then saith Jesus unto

sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
Zechariah 13:7 Awake, O sword,
against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow,

Psalm 31:11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but
especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine
acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
Psalm 38:10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for
the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 11 My lovers
and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand
afar off.
John 16:31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? 32 Behold,
the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered,
every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet
I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33 These things
I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the
world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.
The Scriptures tell us that all mankind, including the Jews will
weep and wail, but it will not be at the revealing of the 'ark
of the covenant.'
Revelation 1:7 Behold,
he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they
also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall
wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Zechariah 12:10 And I
will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they
shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall
mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be
in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
firstborn.

given unto this generation.
Luke 11:29 And when the

be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. 30 For as
Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of
man be to this generation.
Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun
be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the
stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens
shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son
of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth
mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds
of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man
shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and
then he shall reward every man according to his works.
