Do We Weep?

Zechariah 7:9-10

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Prime example of the US and other NATO countries track record in dealing with terrorists and other nations has not been one to build confidence. Far too many have suffered because of the strategies and tactics that have resulted in the death, mutilation and illness of the citizens of many countries. This is not suggesting any support for any of these actions or any of these particular groups. But as Christians we need to evaluate the facts, and look to the Scriptures. 

There has been a ten  year embargo on Iraq that has led to over 1.6 million dead Iraqi people, including tens of thousands of children--not to mention the massacre of 100,000 Iraqi troops that had surrendered. Do we weep when we read this and understand the torment of these people? The consequences of those attacks on Iraq, has resulted in what can only be deemed a cancer epidemic according to investigative reporter Robert Fisk.  The investigation by Fisk was conducted for Britain's Channel Four and the London Independent and revealed that the Iraqi people are suffering from an epidemic of cancer following the 1991 Gulf War “A nightmare `epidemic' of leukemia and stomach cancer is claiming the lives of thousands of Iraqi civilians who live near the former war zone, including children so young that they were not even born when hostilities ended” http://jinx.sistm.unsw.edu.au/~greenlft/1998/310/310p18b.htm

The reality is that the CIA and US government originally funded and provided arms so that Iraq and many other countries over the years could build their military. Many times the US government has instigated rebellion and the overthrow of various governments. Many times the actions have been about US economic gain and protection of those interests. Afghanistan was used and armed in the same way to fight Russia, all the while Nationalists were warning the funding was going to extremists groups like Osama Bin Laden. At that time a 'holy war' was declared and Muslims came from all over the world to defend their faith. 

Prime example of the US and other NATO countries track record in dealing with terrorists is found before the Gulf War, when Canadian arms scientist, Gerald Bull, was hired by Saddam Hussein to build a super gun called Babylon, which was to have a range of 1000 miles. The prototype was called 'Baby Babylon, ' with a range of 100 miles.  MI6, the CIA, Israel and many other countries were not only aware of what took place, but turned a blind eye to the manufacturing of the numerous components by British and various European manufacturers. Gerald Bull became a U.S. citizen, and his Space Research Corporation (SRC) evolved into a multinational arms-manufacturing and arms-dealing network that was based in Brussels. Bull had designed the HAARP gun (a modified 5-inch naval cannon), a joint project of Canada and the United States. He also designed weapons worldwide, in South America, South Africa--where he was charged and jailed for breaking the S. African embargo-and other places. After that he went to work for Hussein, while the various governments allowed the Iraqi embargo to be violated in favor of making money. In fact, the funding for Saddam Hussein and these super guns was fronted through Spain  and routed through to the United States. A Bank in Atlanta provided the funding--as a front for the US Department of Agriculture and CIA.  Gerald Bull was murdered before Hussein received the final 8 components of his Babylon gun. Saddam Hussein, within 6 months, prepared his military and invaded Kuwait, which began the Gulf War. 

How does one deal with the funding of terrorism which has begun from the United States, time and time again, for power, for economic gain, for the spreading of what many other nations view as an intrusion to their lives?  This is not limited to the United States' policies. Most countries have the same ideas and views for their foreign policies. Protecting and furthering their economic and political interests. Christians are not to be of that mindset. 

 James wrote, "4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

One interview of an Arab man, commenting on the reporter's statement that the US troops were in the Arab countries to help, said that the US has never cared about the people, but were there to protect their interests. It has always been about protecting their interests. That is the very sad reality of how many view these actions. In fact, as Afghanistan and other places are erupting in violence in response to the US stand, that resentment is being fueled by what they perceive as an upcoming attack on the Muslim people.  

As far as a 'beacon of freedom,' do we weep for those in Russia who exist on less than $50 a month, a country destroyed by war and reaching for the 'freedom' of democracy? A country where most people do not know the Lord Jesus? Do we weep, for those the US recently bombed, "... over two thousand Serbs and hundreds of Albanians, in the name of "human rights"" resulting in the Serbian national infrastructure being destroyed? More people who do not know the Lord Jesus. George Bush Sr., allowed over 30 thousand Panamanians 'innocents' to be killed in order to seize Noriega, an agent of the CIA for over 20 years. Thousands of innocent Panamanians were held in illegal and oppressive detention centers manned by US forces. 

Do we weep that the US bombed the only pharmaceutical plant in the poorest nation of Africa, Sudan, in its hunt for terrorists--which resulted in loss of innocent lives?  Records show that even 14 months later it was proven that there was no justification for the attack. 

One remembers the 1986 US strike against Libya, to rid the world of terrorists, that resulted in the loss of civilian life, including the daughter of Gaddafi. The target was supposedly Gaddafi himself. Libya now has formed many economic  and some political alliances with nations of Africa, Venezuela, Japan and many others. 

This is not suggesting any support of any of these particular groups. This is pointing out the duplicity of saying that the US or any nation is a beacon of light. Or that "God is on our side."

`Government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the Earth,'' said Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift said, declaring, ``Our democracy is stronger now than it was three days ago before these cowardly acts of terrorism.''  [Reuters: America Mourns Dead in Sorrow, Anger, Patriotism; 09/14/2001]

That this is a quote from the Gettysburg Address will be recognized by some. It is totally not applicable in the sense that those who died were not in a civil war for a nation built on rebellion, right or wrong. Putting it into context, "....The brave men, living and dead who struggled here have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us--that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion--that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth." That this is totally anti-Scriptural will be recognized by Christians. Democracy and those people who stand for it will also perish from the earth if they do not believe their need of Jesus Christ. Every nation, every political form, every individual will be wiped from the earth that does not confess that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh. God will allow all to come to pass that will fulfill His purposes. There is no nation in the Bible that rises up and unites the world for a 'holy' cause of defeating evil. On the contrary, the uniting of nations, for all intents and purposes, will result in fighting Almighty God.

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

In fact most in Christian leadership would all agree that we are living in the last days. Many also believe that either they will build a theocracy and usher in the return of Christ or that Christ's return is imminent as ungodliness is at the worst level in history. We know that the Bible is true and that a revival--which many are claiming, will not happen. Rather Scriptures tell us, there will be a great falling away. 

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

We know that when Christ returns, men will weep and wail in fear, because the wrath of God will be poured out upon all that have rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no 'godly' nation or world described in any prophecy for these times. 

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Peace & Safety

Matthew 10:34 

Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."

Mr. Bush suggests all those who uphold and join with them in the fight for freedom of democracy are good—and all others become evil. And while open suppression and dictatorship are just as bad, those claiming democratic theology are no less used by ‘principalities and powers.’  It is the use of all political theology which will become the ushering in and acceptance of the ‘leader’ which will bring in a false peace. The “good” that President Bush and other leaders worldwide are embracing, is in reality the ecumenicalism and paganism of not just the US, but those countries considered the global leaders of democracy.

Comments such as "The world is going to become a different place from now on" by Ehud Barak, September 11th 2001, coupled with similar sentiments from various US politicians who believe the US will never be the same again, some suggesting it cannot be the same. With the UN giving the green light to support any and all measures for US retaliation, with NATO endorsing and giving full support and invoking Article 5, it can be leading to no less than the fulfillment of prophecy.  

Further, this can very much be viewed as just the beginning of the end as the mentality of people is such that things will indeed not be the same—as people are being prepared to applaud efforts to keep them safe and bring peace to their lives. And who can argue that. That desired safety will undoubtedly realize the implementation of much needed ID to help the implementation of ‘peace and safety’. The spiral downward seems to be increasing in speed. We know that things must get worse than they have ever been —we know that as ungodliness worldwide has reached an unprecedented high, and witchcraft is prospering, we know that the time for the day of the Lord draws near. 

Daniel 8: 25  And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.”  

Since the writing of the above paragraph which originally was sent in a short email to several people,  the US National ID issue has been pushed to the forefront. In an article dated September 22, "...Oracle Chairman and CEO Larry Ellison is calling for the United States to create a national identification card system -- and offering to donate the software to make it possible... Under Ellison's proposal, millions of Americans would be fingerprinted and the information would be placed on a database used by airport security officials to verify identities of travelers at airplane gates. ``We need a national ID card with our photograph and thumbprint digitized and embedded in the ID card,...``We need a database behind that, so when you're walking into an airport and you say that you are Larry Ellison, you take that card and put it in a reader and you put your thumb down and that system confirms that this is Larry Ellison,'' he said...Ellison's company, Oracle, based in Redwood Shores, is the world's leading maker of database software. Ellison, worth $15 billion, is among the world's richest people. ``We're quite willing to provide the software for this absolutely free,'' he said....Oracle has a longstanding relationship with the federal government. Indeed, the CIA was Ellison's first customer, and the company's name stems from a CIA-funded project launched in the mid-1970s that sought better ways of storing and retrieving digital data....In a survey released Wednesday by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, seven of 10 Americans favored a requirement that citizens carry a national identity card at all times to show to a police officer upon request...[Oracle Boss][ Pew Research See: John Howard Pew]

Since then, civil liberties groups and many others have voiced negative views, some simply due to the logistics. Others view it as a loss of freedom and infringement of their rights. Either way, the ID has been thrown into the ring, and many like it. The institution of the anti-christs' mark, which may be gradual or immediately put into place, will appear to be for the purpose of buying and selling. In fact, tattoos are being embraced as part of being patriotic. 

The St. Petersburg Times September 24 article "Colors of Patriotism" revealed 'patriotic tattoos' etched onto foreheads, back of necks, and other parts of the anatomy. "..."Nobody can buy a flag now (because they are selling out), but they can get something that's forever. Now they can't forget," said Brent Cox, manager of a tattoo studio called Dynamite Dermagraphics in Crystal River. "This is the only thing that people can't take away from you. You can't lose it. That there are other Biblical prophecy related events being implemented or attempting to be implemented for 'helpful' reasons is clear.  The concept of instituting the guillotine as a way of dealing with the death penalty was recently presented in the state of Georgia. 

In the Georgian House of Representatives, 1995/96 session bill HB 1274, was offered as an amendment, "...so as to provide a statement of legislative 1- 4 policy; to provide for death by guillotine; to provide for 1- 5 applicability; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other 1- 6 purposes..." "The General Assembly finds that while prisoners condemned to 1- 9 death may wish to donate one or more of their organs for 1-10 transplant, any such desire is thwarted by the fact that 1-11 electrocution makes all such organs unsuitable for 1-12 transplant. The intent of the General Assembly in enacting 1-13 this legislation is to provide for a method of execution 1-14 which is compatible with the donation of organs by a 1-15 condemned prisoner. However, that it was even discussed shows a mindset being prepared to accept beheadings as a compassionate, helpful and fair form of justice. 

Revelation 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

There is a part of me that says the conspiracies of an elite group bringing in the New World Order that is circulated by many,  is not quite accurate. Although there may be a small group of evil men plotting Lucifer's New World Order from behind the scenes (God knows if that be true), the vast majority do not know what they do, being ignorant of Satan's devices. Those ideas include  re-building into a new world order, which includes its religion, economy and government. The Scriptures support the fact that evil men plan for evil in secret places. 

We believe that many are busy attempting to orchestrate certain things to benefit themselves financially and what they perceive to be power and influence. But we don't believe they can know what will happen and how the outcome will go. They are not God. We believe there are many more involved in bringing about the fulfillment of prophecy---they just do not know their role. 

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;"

Does the "perplexity (aporia - no way out, to be at a loss) of nations" include the leaders? Is there anything about which even they could be surprised? If so, are the reactions they propose ad hoc? Truly, the Lord has control of terrorists. "This far thou shalt go and no further." The parameters of their actions are strictly controlled. Who is the real enemy?

The real enemy is not terrorism. These attacks were only one outlet of what has been happening world wide since the beginning of mankind's sinful walk. Those who committed the murders, if they are connected to Osama Bin Laden, and Muslim militants, believe they are having a holy war. That is no different than what is now a holy war by President Bush and supporters. In Mr. Bush's words- we must 'answer these attacks and rid the world of evil.' The terms 'crusade' have also been used. Every country and its people that are supporting this endeavor have redefined what is good and what is evil. They have not allowed in any way, the true definition of evil and good according to God.

There is much speculation about cover-up and duplicity in purpose of the US actions. There is much discussion of the events merely being a part of a plan. That people are willingly sacrificed. It is true that most people in nations worldwide, would care very much about what happens to their fellow citizens. It could also be said in most countries that the average politician cares about the people. There is some suggestion, however, that the upper echelons of governments don't really care. 

One person wrote in an email,

 "...the lowest echelon of government elected official and staff do care about the people. But, most are woefully ignorant of the motives and strategies of the top few hundred people who subscribe to strange philosophies such as Social Darwinism which holds that social policy should allow the weak and unfit to fail and die, and that this is not only good policy but morally right. The only real connection between Darwinism and Social Darwinism is the name. The real source of Social Darwinism is Herbert Spencer and the tradition going back to Hobbes via Malthus, not Darwin's own writings, though Darwin gained some inspiration on the effects of population growth from Malthus."

"The Malthusian de-population myth has been bought into by many of the elite of the world and this has funneled down to the masses. I think that the religious leaders and teaching colleges have subscribed to this also. The earth must be rid of and cleanse itself of masses of people to bring order out of chaos. Thus, there is justification for even scientific and psychological experiments to effect the same. Madelaine Albright is said to have stated that the deaths of a few thousand Iraqian children is necessary for the common good."

"The depravity of man is not believed today as it should, because it is not very palatable. Nonetheless, he is, and this is why the utter futility of social reformation schemes and the pathetic plans of politicians for "peace". 2 Timothy 3:13 "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."
"Is there evil in a city and the Lord has not done it?" (Amos 3:6)

"Our response? To endure patiently with long suffering, never disputing or debating, running with patience the race that is before us. We will know war and rumors of wars. Stay calm, knowing that even in persecution, God will deliver us out of them all if we are faithful. There should be a sense of urgency to teach the Word to those who will hear, but those with "itchy ears" turn away from. The commands become intensely personal e.g., "Keep thyself...." (see II Timothy, Paul's last epistle)."

What is being promoted is that if you are a Christian, you are proven by whether you are politically active, are showing the same form of patriotism as non-Christians, and desire the same outcomes as non-Christians. That rule is also being applied to all other faiths--as there must be consensus and unity in all areas. That does not match with the Scriptures many say they believe as true and as their guide. 

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

One individual wrote, " I see this as similar situation to the times of Daniel. Those who would not bow down to the image at the sound of music (Star Spangled Banner?) were thrown into the pit. The current patriotism recently awakened could include persecution of those who do not wholly enter the mood. One e-mail blasted the ana-baptists for not entering politics. But, so did  John Whitehead [CNP] of the Rutherford Institute. "

Flag waving as a show of patriotism is not restricted to the US but is found worldwide. In Canada, for example, many not only have bought and are displaying Canadian flags, but, many are also displaying US flags to show unity and support. 

We must NOT become involved with reformation movements which are really socialistic, ethical and moral rather than Biblical. These movements teach values rather than a sacrificial Christ; the Christ who lived on earth, rather than the Lord Jesus Christ who died on a cross; the Gospel of the Kingdom rather than the Gospel of grace. They do not make salvation and growth in grace as the supreme purpose of the church, but promote the betterment of civilization.

The need to unite will become extremely hard to resist. Certainly, to resist will bring persecution, if not to our faces, behind our backs. Our reputations (which we are not to have anyway) may be maligned. So be it.

2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Phil 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
